I used to feel guilty about not keeping up in school but now, I realize I passed every test. The only reason I failed classes was not keeping up with homework, which... yeah, kids shouldn't have more work AFTER work.
I used to blame myself, and yeah I should have done the homework. But, why did kids who failed tests still pass if they did enough homework and make-up work, while the kids who PASSED the tests failed if they didn't do enough homework/extra assignments? Surely the point of tests should simply be that they retained information?
And actually I realize the point was making sure you work tirelessly. Do you work in school then go home and do your homework then graduate and go work 2 jobs and pick up extra shifts and work overtime and get called in on your off days because they're understaffed and then keep doing that until you're too old to work.
Then, it made sense why the passed-tests-but-didn't-do-homework kids failed while the failed-tests-but-did-their-homework kids got ahead. They don't want people who retain information, they just want people who work.
I still should have worked harder, I just don't regret it as much anymore. Idk.
