Have you ever had someone say that in-home care is "basically slavery" or that in-home care is some sort of abusive morally wrong thing to "force" someone to do? Basically someone saying that disabled people are all billionaires forcing the poor to change their diapers or that in-home carers are overworked rich people servants.

This anon asking this sneaky misleading question because the NYC DSA refuses to support in home care workers rights in NYC who are basically forced into 24 hr shifts right now. Many are trying to push a public opinion that in-home care workers are ungrateful and/or privileged when the issue with current in-home care work is that the workers are basically forced to give up their lives to do their jobs.
Please support the efforts of NYC home care aides, who are mostly immigrants, as they fight for the right to take care of their own health along with the health of their clients
The battle over 24-hour shifts has pitted the mostly immigrant women working in the home care industry against vulnerable patients who rely

not using AI genuinely feels like the rest of the world is experiencing some kind of mass amnesia. if someone says they never use it, the immediate response is that can't be true because "everyone" uses it to write their emails or answer their questions. saw a comment suggesting that not using chatgpt to write an essay is "like the 90s". girl I graduated in 2021 and we weren't doing that! how is it that everyone has suddenly forgotten that they were entirely capable of doing these things all by themselves for their entire lives up until the past few years!! am I going crazy!!!
🦠 #my crobe
Hi again!
For those who don't know me, my name's Asantewa. I'm a 28 year old graduate student (finally) nearing the end of their studies. I live with chronic illness and disability and have taken steps to apply for government support. It could be up to 3 months before I hear back. I have run out of financial aid and am presently unemployed, though I am actively searching and applying. I'm asking for help with rent, food, and other living expenses until things hopefully turn around.
I know that I'm not the only one facing difficult circumstances right now. Thank you for any consideration given, including reblogs and kind words of support. Every bit helps.

April Update
Things are difficult, but I am doing my best to keep going! I hope to hear back soon about my disability application and some roles I have applied for. In the mean time, reblogging and donating would be most appreciated. It's also my birthday next week 🎉 thank you as always for your support!
Goal: $19/850 CAD

never ask a democrat what they are doing in the “middle east” during their time in office or a liberal why dancing in a dinosaur inflatable to kpop at a “protest” would actually enact any positive social change
my stance on the trans athlete debate is always and forever going to be that sports should be completely desegregated because humans have one of the smallest levels of sexual dimorphism in the animal kingdom and the disparity we see between male and female performance is entirely caused by social factors rather than anything biological. “should trans women compete against cis women” i think cis men and cis women could compete fairly but that’s apparently a little too spicy for people to wrap their minds around bc they’ve been told their whole lives women are biologically inferior & never thought to question that. or wonder if it’s maybe a self fulfilling prophecy of some kind. are women biologically inferior or do they appear so because patriarchy demands that of us?
A really good example of this for the people who don't believe its all social conditioning is that there are separate leagues for prepubescent children with different expectations for training, etc. There is little to no dimorphism between prepubescent children yet there are different expectations about their ability to do certain things. A prepubescent girl and boy of the same size will be trained differently and that girl is going to be pushed into a "recreational" version of a sport league such as softball where the boy will be pushed into a more athletics focused league like baseball. There is literally no reason for this because these kids have the same potential for atheltic, but we are socially conditioned to believe the girl is automatically weaker and we force that girl into weakness.

Had Americans benefited more directly from the spoils of wars and genocides that the US engaged in, they would be content and remain silent about the carnage. But because they didn’t enjoy the loot, and because their public institutions and infrastructure are now falling apart, they speak up about this. To that, I say: good. I wish they would suffer even more, so they might finally speak up for the rest of the world.
We can see this in Europeans, who are able to enjoy the spoils their governments stole. Because they benefit from these spoils, they do not speak up about the violence their governments committed. You speak because you are suffering. Had you enjoyed your share of the loot, would you still speak? That's why I want your public libraries and your beloved NASA to suffer a little. Your highways should rot more. Maybe that will wake you up.
do you think most adult men would fuck a teenager if they could?
Do adults do that rn anyway regardless of gender

there's this account on bluesky that just randomly samples the last reply someone made before getting blocked by the person they were replying to and it's a really good gimmick blog concept. I don't think tumblr data is public enough to make this possible here unfortunately. some samples:
