IMPORTANT CHARACTERIZATION NOTES while i finish my carrd:
i don’t ship ronnie with any of the heathers. i really don’t. veronica has hate and disdain for the heathers, minus mcnamara, who she does see a little more positively but mostly in the way you see an injured animal. slightly pathetic, but generally harmless. ronnie would never enter a relationship with any of them because she sees herself as above them in basically every aspect
veronica is a massive fucking liar when she says she just wants to make the school a better place. she is justifying her own actions to herself so she can stomach the horrible shit she’s doing. she is not a nice person; she has empathy but that’s often outweighed by what her self serving nature dictates is more important (ie; herself)
she does not live much longer than her second year of college- she has deep issues after the events of the film that she literally can’t see a therapist for because then she’d be confessing to several murders, so she doesn’t get the help she needs (just like she always hasn’t ever gotten) and can’t cope with it
if veronica hadn’t been actively interested in the shit the heathers were pulling, heather chandler would never have kept her around as long as she did. veronica was not weakly dragged along all apathetic through peer pressure; she actually enjoyed what was going on, at least at first, before growing out of them and deciding to play along because it would be easier for her
the main themes of her motivations will be selfishness, self interest, self preservation, hate, and bitterness. dynamics with her will have the first layer of a strange half-earnest and honest, half completely fake and manicured persona that she keeps up in order to make sure she keeps most people at arm’s length. she cannot trust anybody anymore, and honestly? for good reason. you will not be able to tell what she’s being fake about, but she’s definitely going to leave a plastic-y taste in your mouth at first. deeper down she is severely damaged in ways she probably won’t be able to fix. she is not an easy person to be around, but i would say she is a very rewarding one to be near, for myriad reasons.

––––––– 1 . i've been writing veronica for essentially my entire adult life- so i have a very particular way i write her that deviates from a lot of generally accepted canon thoughts. don't be put off by that, but also be aware i'll probably catch you offguard.
––––––– 2 . i have a lot of the main pieces above as a first warning, but the general sense is that she's not a good person, but she's also not as bad as she thinks she is. she's selfish, mean, unreliable, cruel, sharp, and will not hesitate to backstab; but she's empathetic, remorseful, emotionally intelligent, and caring towards the people she actually holds in some esteem in her life. this means you will NOT be getting a kind, "life can be beautiful", "i just want to make my school a better place" ronnie here.
––––––– 3 . i am also not a safe space for musical fans, sorry. i shittalk the characterization of everybody in that fuckin' thing every moment i get a chance to, honestly. i have even rambled for half an hour about how i feel the musical woobified veronica more than it did jd (if you'd like to hear it, you can find it here).
––––––– 4 . veronica has. a lot of baggage when it comes to romantic relationships. ideally she would like to settle down with someone and have a family, but god knows if she'll let anyone in long enough for that to happen. this is to say; shipping is very, VERY welcome, but will be difficult to navigate and will require plotting to an intense degree.
––––––– 5 . however- i won't lie to you, shipping is a huge part of why i continue to rp on tumblr. it's my favourite thing to write and i'm not ashamed of it. she might be hard to ship with, but i am one hundred percent prepared to try out a ship with any muse a mutual writes just to see where it goes.
––––––– 6 . when i use the term ship, i mean it in a romantic sense. when discussing non-romantic interactions, i use the term dynamic to reduce confusion- please keep that in mind when interacting with shipping calls! i've had a few awkward experiences with people meaning something different when i was prepared for a romantic pairing.
––––––– 7 . i do not often follow first; i'm just a really anxious person and prefer not to step on any toes. i'm always looking for new writing partners, even if i'm very scattered and pretty small on this blog.
––––––– 8 . i reserve the right to not follow anyone back if i don't feel like our characters would mesh, if our writing styles wouldn't compliment each other, or for any other reason. i'm also not duplicate friendly- even on multimuses, i'm not comfortable following other veronicas. nor will i follow any jason deans other than SHOTJOCKS, who has been my exclusive jason for the last five years.
