I guess this is what it comes down to. If you think dangerous kinks, and dangerous sex in general, should be illegal even if everyone is aware of the risks and consents to them, do you think snowboarding should be illegal?

What about skydiving? Diving? Surfing? Racing? Football? Cheerleading?

You can argue about the morality of kink, about how many people are pressured into things they aren't comfortable with or aren't ready for and how many people are simply unaware of the possible long-term risks, but those arguments also apply to all the things listed above.

Every single day, people do stupid and dangerous things. Sometimes those things are pretty necessary to life, like driving a car, but other times, they're done just for fun and pleasure and excitement. If people are legally able to consent to games and sports where serious injuries and deaths are a major risk, then why can't they consent to sex acts with similar risks? Why are liability waivers totally fine for extreme sports and official events but seen as absurd and terrible when it comes to sex?

AITA for suggesting that my girlfriend shouldn’t trick or treat?

I (21M) and my girlfriend (22F) are having an argument on whether she should trick or treat or not. My argument as that we are adults, we can buy our own candy, we will be making other people uncomfortable, the candy is for the kids, etc. However, she just wants to have fun and isn’t ready to give it up yet. She also says that there’s not really a good argument why she shouldn’t- after all, there’s people who prefer handing out the candy and people who prefer to going around and trick or treating. I’ve also suggesting bringing candy to replace the candy she takes but she seems insulted by this. I also just said this was silly and she doesn’t see how it’s silly for her to trick or treat.

So I’m asking both AITA and should she trick or treat? Is there any part of the argument I’m forgetting or not aware of?
