help me get top surgery!
hi everyone, i haven't been on here in 3 years but i need your help! My name is Aza (they/them). I’m a Moroccan (amazigh/arab) Norwegian queer nonbinary person in need of top surgery. I am denied surgery in Norway due to nonbinary people being excluded from trans care, and also because I am fat and there’s a BMI cut off for the surgery in general. It is not feasible for me to reach that BMI limit, nor do I want to.
After trying to get surgery for six years I've finally found a surgeon in San Francisco without any weight limitations, and have been accepted as a candidate for surgery and my first virtual consultation is on 8. December 2021.
Since I won’t get the surgery covered in Norway, and I will not have insurance in the USA, I will have to pay out of pocket. I am currently on welfare due to limited work capacity while in a program looking for a job. This means I have little money to save up for the surgery on my own and I am in need of the surgery as soon as possible.
The surgery is not only important because of the need for gender euphoria, but also because I have back and neck pain from having a large chest. Since I have already gone this long it is important to get it done early to prevent more damage and pain.
My partner lives in Oakland so I will have a place to stay and someone to take care of me after surgery. I appreciate any and all help I can get whether it’s sharing or giving, thank you so much!
