Blessed because I had a Red Queen dream last night where I saw CAL CALORE IN PERSON 😍 (and Maven too. I saw Maven get married and then sulk about it lol)
May I never forget the image of me opening a walk-in freezer to see Cal resting his elbow on his propped up knee while cursing out his traitor brother. The one spot in the freezer where things were melting.

I keep thinking about making a personal account just for fun, but like...what would I post? I literally hardly do anything but read and think about Red Queen and hang out with my dog. 2/3 of that is already posted here. Also is it annoying to go back and forth between accounts? Do you have to log in and log out every single time or can you have a quick way to do it?

- Mares first ever "mission" was when she and Kilorn snuck into a silver security outpost as children to get batteries for her father
- Cal knew of a secret passageway in the palace library that he used to sneak out of as a child/teen. He used the passage to escape from guards with Mare, Farley, and Shade in GS, burning a portrait of Maven on the way out (after he threw Mare through a window, btw)
- Gisa brought home a baby duckling when she was nine and wanted to keep it. She tried feeding it soup
- Farley and Shade walk together arm in arm, close together if they're not hiding their relationship at the moment
- Cal was not able to go to his own father's funeral

The fact that I have a cube bookshelf but don't have a Red Queen section. My Red Queen books are on my normal bookshelves with all the commoners.
since i am red queen pilled (and have been for years now with no end in sight) every action i make has something to do with red queen in my brain

Farrah (the newblood who could manipulate sound) was literally only mentioned by her introduction in Glass Sword (and once in Broken Throne but never gone into depth with, just like one little cameo detail) but one of the things we did get to know about her was that she would go along with Kilorn to catch food for the Notch. To make him a silent hunter. I wonder if they considered each other friends.
This was when he and Mare had their falling out so I'm sure he would have enjoyed the company :(
We didn't even get her age or last name 😢 and it sounds like she was a major part of keeping The Notch hidden.
So now I'm shipping her and Crance. Because no one can stop me. And we need something for both of their characters. Crance being "a smuggler with a heart of gold" sounds perfect for Farrah! At least, I would think so. Not that we know anything about her personality to work with 😵💫

Okay I've always been on Mares side about her falling out with Kilorn in Glass Sword, but now that I'm rereading it... I owe an apology to Kilorn. He was so freaking sweet and she was so unnecessarily mean to him. "You're just mad that you're useless" MARE. MOLLY. BARROW. SHUT. YOUR. MOUTH.
I see both sides but MARE. HE HAS BEEN TAKING CARE OF YOU IN YOUR COMA HAND AND FOOT FOR FOUR DAYS, AND JUMPED AT THE OPPORTUNITY TO GET YOU WATER, AND NOW YOU JUST INSULT HIM FOR NO REASON? my poor baby boy 🥺
He was so accepting of Mare not loving him romantically. He said multiple times that he understood. But all that he said that didn't agree with her was that she should be careful around Cal because he was the most likely in the group to become the traitor. And I think anyone could agree to that on their first read of the series, Marecal fan or no.
Yes it was technically him that turned away from her first after that argument but like.... I would too if my best friend was saying things like that to me 💀
I think Mare woke up a little grumpy. And horny. And Kilorn just needed a break for a bit. And who am I to judge him for that? He really puts up with so much bullying from every single character. I am proud of him for putting his foot down on something. Especially the one person he cares about endlessly. That took bravery, and showed how much he cared about her, that he wasn't going to support a relationship that he found possibly toxic.

If Cal and Maven had the choice to keep their powers or have their mother's instead, would they take it?
Cal would not because he has spent so much time training his fire manipulation and he does not want to start over completely in learning something new from scratch. They start training in childhood, so I feel like he would not want to lose that many years of experience.
Plus, Julian always talked about how he never uses his singer abilities because he finds it easy to cross his morality. With Cal hearing that from his uncle so often, I doubt he would necessarily want it.
Maven would have Elaras abilities in a heartbeat. Well, okay, he would think about the logistics of it for a moment, so maybe in two heartbeats. He would use it to get his way, yes, but he would be more careful with it than Elara was, and not as cruel as her. Based on his own experience with being manipulated by the same abilities, he would have strict lines not to cross as to not trigger his own trauma
