“What did I say about bein’ loud, cheeks?!” As he yells at her, as some distance of birds go and fly off as a flock of them into the skies from the noise, following behind her with his hands by his side. At most, at MOST he could take out a few dinosaurs if they got violent, but a T-REX or something larger was going to fucking murder them. 

Though rumors did say that if you die in this place, you mysteriously appear….but he wasn’t gonna chance it on folk lore rumors of such bullshit. 

He kept up, seeing her looking around in awe while he was on alert for any movement. The pathway they followed was getting more and more roughed up, as they now had to climb up a large rock structure it looks like. “Oii, don’t go slipping.” He looked for a good place to grab, his right hand reaching for it and firmly pulling himself up and latching his foot onto a small rock sticking out of the side. Quickly he began to climb up towards the top of this tall ledge of rock. 

“Oii, come on.” 

Assessing her surroundings Ochako beamed. She had watched that one movie where they kept dinosaurs, and thought this was the closest they would ever get. She heard Bakugo fuss at her from behind, but she didnt pay any attention. Even his nagging wouldn’t get her down. Besides, if she died riding a dinosaur? Best. Death. Ever. 

Turning around to see him climbing the larger rock structure, she sighed. Her upper body strength was her worst asset. Though she had been working out, it still was hard for her to use it. Gripping the roots tightly, she followed him up until they reached a semi flat surface.  “What kind do you think we’ll see first?”

“There will be nothin’ cool with being chased by a T-rex if we screw this up, cheeks!” He felt like he had to play babysitter when she was already pumped up with seeing actual dinosaurs. The problem was the island was a rather large size, and unlike her, he was the only one with at least mobility to escape something large chasing them down. 

“We should have picked a different island, but we gotta do enough on here to move on. Don’t fucking leave my side to chase a butterfly or somethin’.” 

The forest looked untamed, but it seems others who had appeared ahead of them had made a relative pathway to the center where the caves were. All he could think was to follow along side it and get their sights in before dipping out of here. 

Ochako raised a brow, eyeing her companion for this potentially deadly choice and was rather regretting her decision to make him leave without another coffee. Rolling her eyes at his previous statement about being lost with the butterflies, she scanned the area. Had she retained any of her ability, this would be an easier feat. She could rise above the canopies and see if there were any spots available for shelter, but alas, she was left with a smaller portion of it. 

At least she could hold a coconut.

“Lets go find some dinos!” She cheered after a moment of contemplating. This was going to be fun, and she would be sure that he would have fun too. “C’mon! We aren’t going to find any on the beach.” 

And just as soon as she said that, she took of towards the beaten path. Some may think she can be a bit reckless at times, but she was super detailed oriented when it came to strategy. There were plenty of vines she could potentially climb to get a birds eye view, but she was conscious enough to keep the explosive blonde in her sights.

“For the 100th time, Yes this place is a island. YES, i’ve heard dinosaurs are in this damn place. BUT NO! This is not JURASSIC PARK! Fucking round-face!” 

How did she trick him into heading to a island in the first place? He was barely combat ready and able and she had—–well, that weirdo style fighting and jack shit else. Hard to use that when going and fighting DINOSAURS if they get attacked. Well, she was brave enough to ask to come out here, sure it would be fine with him around.

“This is definitely like Jurassic park.” She states, kicking a little sand in his direction. She was super excited to even have the chance to interact with one. Though, the chance of her being eaten first was more likely than her taming one. 

Can’t blame a girl for dreaming. 

“They’re extinct! This is our chance to see how they lived for just a short while. I think its suuuper cool!” Clapping her hands, she chose to wear her gym outfit, and for good reason. She needed something that would cool her down, as she had no intention of going to the more dangerous islands. 

“C’mon Bakugo, you have to admit this is super cool.”

fuck yes. the shop-keep looked as if he was about to say something, before turning away.  he grumbled something along the lines of “keep your hands out of your pockets, girlie” as he went back behind the counter. he knew he was outnumbered here and he knew he’d look like the bad guy if anyone saw him heckling two young girls.  but chloe couldn’t be assed to care about that; she had been saved. if she believed in a god she’d be thanking them for sending someone who understood women’s plight of getting creeped on her way. she gave a triumphant look over in the shop-keep’s direction and tried to keep a shit-eating grin off her face until, at the least, her and her savior were out of harm’s way. chloe nodded, looking down at ochako. ❝ Better now that you’re here. ❞ it was weird to be saved by someone else again. up until a week and a half ago she was usually the one who intimidated (or tried at least), anyone who had tried to fuck with her or her friends. then max had come back into her life once more and saved her ass multiple times. was she starting to forget how to save herself? ❝ But I’d really rather not hang around, if you don’t mind. ❞ chloe threw her thumb over her shoulder, to the man who had harassed her. ❝ I think king of 7/11 over there’s kinda got a short fuse. ❞

“Oh yeah! Definitely.” She states after a moment of lingering in the store. 

Leave it to Ochako to linger in a tense situation and be oblivious that she also could be in danger of being heckled next. Clutching her paper bag of noodles, she headed out and held the door for the girl. After then, she ran over what she could say without it being awkward. She prided herself on being a social person, but after confrontations, she was left with a little bit of anxiety that made her nauseas. 

“Are you okay, though? He looked like he was just itching to pick a fight with someone.” She says as they round the corner. “Sometimes people are having an off day, and take it out on the first people they see. Which, in retrospect is bad business practice. He knows he’s not the only shopkeep, right?” 

“I’m Ochako, by the way.”

 “Are you a student of sorts? your clothes remind me of a nearby location.”

“Oh! Okay! We don’t have to talk about it if it makes you uncomfortable.” 

“I am a student! I just don’t know where the school is here. I’m not sure what we would even learn given so many different people are here. Not to mention the languages we all speak.” She mumbled, starting to reel herself back from going on a tangent like Deku. “I’m going to a hero school, where we are learning how to harness our quirks!”

     It’d taken Edelgard a while to get used to the monotony. She wasn’t quite expecting it so soon after the war, planning for at least a few years where she would pick a successor to the throne. While the change was unexpected, it wasn’t… unwelcome. 

     There were many times where she wished she could take a break from it all – and there had been many times she’d escaped Hubert just to find some peace.

     And that’s why she’d found herself taking a morning stroll through the day. She was much too familiar with the crisp night air, having too many sleepless nights. Being awake in the morning did have its perks too, and meeting new people was one of them. People who hailed from worlds without Crests.. It truly was something to behold.

❛ I’m sorry. I’m not too familiar with this place, but I am rather fascinated. Does it only sell coffee? ❜

Ochako was taken back by her speech, as it seemed as elegant as her hair. Feeling like she should bow or curtsey by the sheer power this woman radiated, she rubbed the back of her neck, careful to keep one pinky up. 

“Um, I’m not quite sure either! They may have variants of tea or fruity drinks. At least the ones where I’m from do.” She says, a smile never leaving her face. “If you would like, we can find out together! It would nice to make a friend here.” 

She technically did have a friend here, though his rough attitude made it seem otherwise. Finding out where other people came from was part of the joys of this place. The fact that this island had access to so many different timelines made her truly wonder, if anything was real. 

She didn’t like to dwell on it though. 

“That’s if you do not have anything planned. I do not want to impose!”

The second she looks over, Zero is flat on his ass with a large piece of pizza covering his face. He’s mad, but also grateful it isn’t on the ground, at least. Not that that would stop him from still eating it–he doesn’t have a lot of money at the moment and he’s, absolutely hungry. 

Until someone else in the crowded rush bumps him from behind without any apology and it lands face down into a rain puddle. Okay maybe that’s a little too far. 

Today just isn’t going well, that’s fine, no need to kill someone, just–he gets up and pinches his nose, taking a deep breath. 

“It’s…” his stomach growls. 

Zero looks at the sky rather than the girl, not wanting to direct the murderous intent on his face at her. 

“…fine.” 

He checks his phone to see how much dust he has left and closes his eyes to take another deep breath. Continuing to avoid eye contact, he responds through gritted teeth. 

“I’ll just find a vending machine somewhere.” 

“Oh! Oh no. Please let me pay you back. Or at least get you a slice of pizza.” She extends her hand to help him back up off of the ground. 

Surely, Bakugo would not think it wise to be just offering money and help to everyone in this place, but she couldn’t call herself a hero if she just destroyed someones dinner. If she had learned anything about hoarding money, it was to use it when you needed to. 

Lucky for her, her classmate had made adjusting to the island a lot better than it would have. 

“Please. Let me make this up to you.”

“Woah, that sounds super serious.” 

“Where are you from? If theres an emperor we’re definitely nooooot from the same place.”

“Oh, I get it…Can you fry it?  I am untapped potential in the kitchen, just for your information!”  More like a fire hazard!

“Spicy…Or sour…Though, I suppose sickeningly sweet things are fine on occasion…”  A pause, “As a matter of fact, I’m not picky.  I will eat anything.”

“Hmmm nope! Just gotta have a microwave. That should be enough to make it sticky. I’ve made it a few times, but I have really good friends who can cook a lot better than I can!”

She says, tapping her chin thoughtfully. The only one to get it as close to store bought was Tenya, but it took him and Izuku to get the right steps. 

“The strawberry ice cream inside is the best kind in my eyes. Not being picky is good, I don’t handle spicy things well though. You must be tough as nails!”

 if anyone had thought max had set chloe straight, they would be sorely mistaken. sure she’d calmed a little, but the thing was about chloe, she needed a rock to keep her from succumbing to every single impulse she had. sure, she wasn’t an idiot, she knew good ideas from bad ones. but she was also a young and dumb teenager, even if she was less young and dumb than she used to be. one could never be too old for sneaking a pack of smokes and a candy bar out of a convenience store in her bra, however. that was, until you were old enough to go to jail instead of just get a slap on the wrist for being troubled youth. which brought up this predicament: her being a legal adult being interrogated by a shop owner about what she had been doing in his store.  of course this was terrifying to her; he was way larger than her, and she usually would’ve gotten off scott-free or gotten away by now. but she was cornered, and normally she’d love to reach for the gun in her waistband and scare this dick off, if it weren’t for the neat fact of this being down the street from where she lived now.  ❝ Ugh, leave me alone, creep! Can’t you see I don’t have anything? ❞  fuck, think. a scapegoat? an alibi? chloe took a step back, looking around her for someone, anyone, to save her ass.  there. there was the girl that had come in right after chloe; from what chloe had seen she looked like she was probably a highschooler, as well as someone who had probably never stolen anything in their life. the girl almost had max caulfield levels of goody-twoshoes energy. chloe just hoped she’d play along. ❝ Hey! ❞ chloe called through cupped hands, leaning in ochako’s direction and hoping she wouldn’t be ignored. ❝ Can I get your help for a second? ❞ please don’t be oblivious, please don’t be oblivious…

Ochako had learned long ago how to conserve her money. It was no surprise that she had chosen a convenience store that was close and cheap enough for her to get a candy bar. She could have a candy bar, as a treat for working so hard. Surely, it would be fine. 

A magazine had caught her eye on the way out, making her hesitate. It wasn’t until someone called out for her, she snapped out of it. Blinking rapidly, Ochako hesitantly peeked around the corner. She saw the shop keep corner another girl who didn’t look too much older than herself. Her fight or flight instinct kicked in and before she knew it, she was walking forward, with a smile on her face. 

“Excuse me, but why are you cornering a young girl? Isn’t that a little weird?” Grabbing the girls arm to pull her from the corner, she put some distance between the two. 

“I didn’t see her take anything, and I’ve been in here the entire time. Why are you trying to harass people? That’s how you ruin business.” Looking back at the girl, Ochako raises a brow. “Are you okay?”

“For fuck sakes, there is no point if you don’t remember the way there! Just get a map at a book store! They have hundreds of those!” He yelled at her, which felt much more normal then the other beginnings of his conversations with her have gone in the fifteen minutes of their reunion. Though now she was asking the questions she had expected to hear, looking at his hand before looking to her. 

“I was limited to my stun grenade at the start, but the longer you are here for you get more of your abilities back. Now I can blast rush across the air a few times a day. It’s a social experiment. The more you talk and interact, the more they relinquish back.” He said, in pretty simple terms to the airhead before him. It was around this time he picked up the groceries he had left on the ground to dash to save her. 

“Think of it as training to do with what you got.” 

Ah, there he was. 

The loud and obnoxious version of him was starting to seep back in and made her wonder why she was even following him in the first place. If it werent for him saving her life, she would’ve said something about his attitude. Some things never changed, and she was okay with that for the most part. 

“That’s definitely interesting. It’s a social and psychological...experiment. I totally thought they were like doing weird sci-fi things.” She says after a moment, letting out a small fit of giggles. 

Though the situation wasn’t exactly ideal, at the very least, she wasn’t alone. 

“That should be no biggie then! I talk alot anyways.” She says cheerfully, wincing at the sting on her arm and leg. “Do you need help carrying anything? I have two arms available!”

“Stop screaming for a second! Time doesn’t work in here as our normal world! This place….is a cage, and we are the rats that they are using to test on.” She had quite a lot of questions, he was sure. Even more so fears about the unknown around them, plus her quirk was limited if she had just arrived. He had some of it back, but not much more then that it seems.

It was about adjusting and being able to adapt. They were heroes. They needed to keep their spirits unbreakable.

It was a lot of into to take in, plus a emotional rollercoaster from this point forward if those guys don’t send her out shortly. It’s possible, and it is possible this is just another experiment on him to see how he deals with a alternate uraraka to deal with. It was a pain, and beyond frustrating to him.

Hell. It was Hell.

“Follow me to my place. Next time you are in trouble, head there. I’ll come runnin.”

“T-test on us?!” She squeaked, cradling her arm. 

She had heard of stories similar to this one. Mostly psychological, but it was still not making any sense. Why her? Was she just dreaming this whole scenario? The sting in her arm was too real for her to even consider it seriously. And the added effect of daydreaming Bakugo as her savior from some giant monster...not very common for her. 

But not entirely unwelcome. 

Ochako had always seen Bakugo as someone who needed a little extra tlc, as he always pushed people away in fear of something but she couldn’t figure out what that was exactly. Though, she had rarely seen him not yelling, which was new to her. 

“O-okay!” She says, delayed by her own train wreck of thoughts. “Thats assuming I can remember where I’m at. This place is super confusing.”

“How are you able to use your quirk? Mine was practically reduced to nothing.”

Too slow. 

Deciding to keep up with her strength and endurance training, Ochako set a faster pace for her run through the city. Running had never been her forte, but she was determined to keep a strict regiment while she figured out why she had been selected to enter the city, and how she planned on leaving. 

If she even could. 

She supposed things weren’t so bad. Aside from the fact that she could be in class learning the next big thing to help her become a better hero, she really didn’t have much to lose. Deku and Iida were perfectly capable of holding their own, and the same applied for the rest of her class. 

Slowing to a stop, she focused at the matter at hand. Leaning against a wall, she exhaled to get a grip on her breathing. 

“Jeesh, is it hotter out today or is it just me?” She grumbles, wiping her forehead.

Taking stuff in was hard. Honestly, he’d rather learn this place over again then have to know what he knew and then dealing with a situation like this. Damn it, he just had to push it down and lock it up forever. Forget damn it, and just let it go. Right now, you had a classmate who was freaking out and wondering what the hell to do right now. In this world, it was bad enough that their was creatures attacking us. It was just the tip of the iceberg of chaos around them. 

“Roughly nine months in total I’d say. Last thing I remember is heading at shiragaki with deku.” 

Granted he remembered that with his latest trip back and then right zipped back to here. Talk about the worst time to be taken in a moment in time. That was going to be a critical battle all right. “Come. let’s walk-and-talk. I got stuff that is just sitting away to be snatched.” He was walking in the alleyway he had flown across to save her ass. 

Ending up more confused than she was before, she wondered just how time worked. She swore that she had just saw him the day prior, and there he was saying he had been there for nine months? That couldn’t be right at all. 

“That doesn’t make any sense! I just saw you literally the other day?” She whispered, furrowing her brows further. Following him, she ignored the stinging sensation that covered her entire left side.  All things considered, things could be worse. She could be dead. Bakugo was being oddly gentle, but she chalked it up to him having more time to understand what was happening here. 

“Oh uhm. Thank you, for saving my butt back there. This whole limited quirk thing is very inconvenient.”

“…I-”  Well, okay.  This was a thing that was happening now!  

“Can it really be that good?  I mean, it just sounds like ice cream cake…”

“It’s fantastic. Addicting even. If you like fruit. They have different flavors too, so theres more to choose from.” Trying not to scoff at the cake comment, she laughs. “Its way better than ice cream cake. Its not exactly cakey either. It’s more of a dough, so it can get sticky if you aren’t careful!”

“Hopefully we can find some here. What kind of sweets do you like?”

She was lost. 

Again for the third time this week in attempt to get to know the area better. Everything was still a little blurry for the hero, questioning all of her last moves before ending up in an entire different reality. Nothing had really been different, to her knowledge. She went to class, sparred, went back to her dorms to sleep. Without her quirk at full capacity, she was pretty much useless, even to her standards. 

This is fine. 

Setting off to find a place with good coffee, she figured she would treat herself to a small cup of caffeine, but had no idea where to start. At some point, she would have to consider getting a job. Working in a conservatory would be preferable, but perhaps something with food might be easier. Did they even have a conservatory? Lost in her thoughts, she scanned the nearby area for a friendly face and landed on a girl with the prettiest hair she had ever laid eyes on. 

“Hi there! You wouldn’t happen to know where the nearest coffee shop is, would you?”

“You don’t know what mochi is?!” Eyes widening, he has no idea what he just did. “Forgive me, I keep forgetting that not everyone is from the same place but...mochi is magical. Its ice cream wrapped in rice dough. The whole process is super interesting.” 

“We have to get you some as soon as possible!”
