Hi friends, welcome to one of many side blogs I have on here! This one is the hub for my ATEEZ sickfics & yapping about writing :)
✨✨FIC MASTERLIST ✨✨
RULES & GENERAL INFO
*I am chronically ill, so writing is a slow & time-intensive process for me, and fic updates may be irregular because of this.
*At this time, I am not taking full-on requests, but I am open to suggestions, and I will see where the writing spirit moves me!
*I am very open to chatting, whether it be about the fics, ATEEZ, or k-pop in general! DMs and asks are both always welcome :)
*While ATEEZ is the only group I am familiar enough to write for, I also am interested in the following groups, so feel free to chat with me about any of them too!
-SEVENTEEN (DK, Jun, & Mingyu biased)
-Stray Kids (Lee Know biased)
-TXT (Beomgyu & Soobin biased)
*I am an OT8 fan for ATEEZ (duh!), but my ult bias is Wooyoung, and I have soft spots for Seonghwa and Yeosang as well.
*Find me on AO3 at Spagh3ttis

DISCALIMERS
*My writing is all based on my interpretations of the members and their dynamics. I do not claim any of this to be factual or accurate depictions of the members IRL.
*I am a pretty new ATINY (just pre Lemon Drop!) so despite having spent a good chunk of time engaging with their content, there is a lot of that I haven’t seen. Because of this my interpretations may not always be entirely on base, but that’s okay! This is all for entertainment, and if things are a little wonky sometimes, well, half the fun of fanfic is getting to add your own spin to things, so it’s all good :)
That’s all for now folks, thank you so much for being here! ✨
In my mind, everyone has their hair at least a little bit long at all times to facilitate for ample cute caretaking moments.
Like Wooyoung, Yeosang, and Seonghwa always have their signature long hair when I write them, because that’s my favorite style on them, and while they’re probably the only ones that actually need their hair like, fully tied back, the others could definitely still use a lil tuck behind the ear or a brushing off the forehead at times (especially when they’re hanging over the toilet, like a certain captain may or may not be right now :))
I have F I N A L L Y almost finished the first scene in the next chapter! There’s two (or three? Depending on how long they get?) more scenes planned after this, but they’re all a bit shorter, so hopefully it won’t take me as long to write them as this first fuckass evil scene has taken 🙂↕️
One week into working on this new chapter and I’ve got uh… *checks notes* about 300 words done 😅
That is to say, I apologize in advance for how long I think this chapter is going to take to be published. Neither words nor plot are flowing the way I’d like them to right now, and I’m trying my best, but I think it might be a while before I’m able to get an update up.
Rest assured it is in the works, just… slowly. And somewhat painfully.
SICKIES: Hongjoong (nausea) & San (nausea/stomach ache)
CARETAKERS: Seonghwa
SUMMARY: As the night winds down, Seonghwa does his best to make Hongjoong comfortable, but his plans are interrupted by an unexpected confession.
WORD COUNT: 2,671
TW: non-graphic descriptions of vomiting
Read on AO3!
Hongjoong barely made it fifteen minutes into the movie before he fell asleep, his cheek still pressed up against the soft fabric of Seonghwa’s t-shirt and his arms tucked loosely under his chin. Seonghwa briefly considered trying to move him, thinking he might be more comfortable if he was able to properly lie down, but ultimately decided it wasn’t worth the risk of waking him up, and resigned himself to his fate as a human pillow instead.
The two of them stayed like that for a while, Hongjoong sleeping and Seonghwa silently watching an episode of Doctor Who, which he had switched over to from the movie as soon as it became clear that Hongjoong was going to be out for a while. With how busy their schedules were, they rarely had time to watch TV, and Seonghwa had been meaning to catch up on the show at Yunho’s recommendation.
At some point, the rest of the members returned home, their voices filtering in from the common area and then soon after quieting down again as they broke off into their respective rooms for the night. Seonghwa paused the show and shot Yeosang a quick text, asking how their day had been, and in return received a selfie of the four of them sitting on a park bench, all grinning and making peace signs to the camera. Seonghwa smiled, immediately saving the photo to his own camera roll in a folder titled “KIDS 💖”, before forwarding it to the group chat so that Yunho and Mingi would be able to see it too.
The next half hour passed rather uneventfully, but just as the second episode was nearing its end, Hongjoong began to stir. At first Seonghwa assumed he was just trying to readjust his position, but after a few seconds of shifting around, the leader let out a sleepy hum, lifting his head up from where he’d been resting it and blearily looking around the room.
“Hwa…?” he mumbled, sounding a bit dazed. “Are you…?”
“Hey, yeah, I’m right here,” Seonghwa interjected. He set his phone to the side and placed a hand on Hongjoong’s arm, giving it a reassuring squeeze. “Are you okay?”
“Um… I think so,” Hongjoong replied, clearly still half-asleep. He slowly sat up the rest of the way, his shoulders hunching forward as he rubbed tiredly at his eyes with the heels of his hands. “What time is it?”
Seonghwa picked his phone back up to check. “Just after 9:30. You were out for like an hour and a half.”
“Jeez,” Hongjoong muttered; he assumed he’d just dozed off for a little bit, not taken an entire ninety minute nap. “Are the kids home yet?”
"Yeah, they got back a little while ago. And before you ask, yes, everybody's fine, Yunho and Mingi included."
In other circumstances, Hongjoong might've complained at the presumptuous response, but that had been his next question, and he was grateful that Seonghwa had saved him the energy of having to verbalize it.
“That’s good,” he said instead, turning to the side to muffle a yawn into his fist.
"Yeah, it is." Seonghwa paused, watching Hongjoong intently. "Do you wanna lay down again?" he asked after a moment, noticing the way the leader was fighting to keep his eyes open. "You look like you're about to fall back asleep."
"Ugh, no, I feel like if I keep napping now I'm gonna be up all night," Hongjoong pouted. "Can we keep watching the movie? I promise I'll stay awake this time, I just need something to keep me distracted."
“Of course we can,” Seonghwa replied with a warm smile. “Before you get comfy again though, do you think that if I go make you some tea right now you can try and drink a little bit?”
With the frequency that Hongjoong had been vomiting earlier, Seonghwa hadn’t done anything more than encourage him to rinse his mouth out between rounds, but now that it had been almost four hours since he’d last thrown up, he really was hoping he’d be able to get the leader to drink something. While Hongjoong was holding up okay in that moment, all things considered, it was still early on in the course of his illness, and Seonghwa was worried that if he didn’t try and stay on top of his hydration from the jump, he’d quickly find himself fighting a losing battle.
Hongjoong, however, was clearly not at all on board with the suggestion. “Hwa, please…” he groaned.
“Hey, it was just a question,” Seonghwa replied, holding his hands up defensively. “And I’m not going to force you if you really don’t think you can handle it right now, but I do think you should at least try. You've already lost a lot of fluids and I don't want you getting dehydrated. Plus, it's ginger, so it might actually help settle your stomach a bit, if you can keep it down.”
Hongjoong let out a weary sigh. As much as he dreaded the thought of getting sick again, he knew Seonghwa was right in that letting himself get dehydrated would only make him feel worse in the long run. “Okay, fine,” he surrendered. “But just like… one sip.”
"Yes, Joongie," Seonghwa said with a fond roll of his eyes. "Just one sip for now, that's all I'm asking." He pushed himself up from the bed and was almost to the door when he turned back around. “Bug mug?”
“Bug mug,” Hongjoong repeated, the corners of his mouth quirking into a small smile.
Seonghwa left the room and returned a few minutes later with the tea, which he had poured into Hongjoong’s favorite yellow and black mug (affectionately nicknamed “the bug mug” by Mingi due to its resemblance to a bumblebee). Hongjoong couldn’t even remember where he’d gotten the thing, but it had become a sort of tradition for him to use it anytime he was sick, and although he felt silly admitting it, it did bring him quite a bit of comfort, and it was sweet that Seonghwa always seemed to remember that.
“Thanks, Hwa,” he said quietly, taking the mug from Seonghwa’s outstretched hand. He hesitated for a moment before bringing it up to his lips and taking a small, tentative sip. Seonghwa watched him silently, waiting until he signaled that he was finished before taking the mug back and placing it down on the nightstand.
“I’m just gonna…” Hongjoong gestured over his shoulder with his thumb. “I’m gonna lay back and close my eyes for a little bit, I think.”
“Yeah, whatever you need to do, Joong,” Seonghwa reassured. “I’ll be right here, just let me know if you start to feel sick again, okay?”
Hongjoong hummed in agreement and leaned his head back against the headboard, letting his eyes fall shut.
Knowing how on edge he was feeling in that moment, Seonghwa didn't want to crowd him too much, so instead of reaching out to hold his hand or rub his back like he so desperately wanted to, he settled on just inching his leg forward a bit so that it was pressed against Hongjoong's, hoping the light touch would provide some comfort without feeling too overwhelming.
For a long while, Hongjoong remained motionless, taking slow, controlled breaths in through his nose and out through his mouth as he fought to keep the encroaching nausea at bay. Every so often, his chest would hitch slightly, and Seonghwa would tense up, readying himself to grab the bin if needed, but a few seconds later he’d relax again, and Seonghwa would quickly follow suit.
Almost ten whole minutes passed before Hongjoong finally lifted his head, the grounding grip he’d had on the edge of his blanket loosening as he opened his eyes and blinked a few times against the bright light of the room.
“Okay?” Seonghwa asked softly, giving his leg a slight nudge.
“Yeah, I think so,” Hongjoong replied with a shaky exhale. “But I really don’t want to drink any more right now.”
“Totally fine,” Seonghwa said. “It’s a good idea to let that settle for a bit longer first anyway. We can try again in half an hour if you’re still feeling fine, but for now you can just chill.”
Seonghwa stood back up from where he’d been sitting on the edge of Hongjoong’s bed, raising his arms above his head in a deep stretch. “Is it okay with you if I go grab some stuff from my room before we start watching again?” he asked. “I love you, but if I try and spend the entire night in here with you and your one dinky pillow, it is seriously going to wreck my back.”
“Your dinky pillow, you mean,” Hongjoong corrected. His pillow was still with Mingi, and the one he’d been using in the meantime was one of the near half dozen that Seonghwa kept on his own bed. “But yeah, of course. Do you mind grabbing an extra for me too while you’re at it? My neck feels kinda weird from how I slept earlier.”
“Sure, but you can’t say a word to any of the kids about this later, okay?” Seonghwa responded, his voice suddenly becoming serious.
Hongjoong looked up from where he’d been staring off into space, absentmindedly rubbing at his neck. “Huh? Why not?”
“Because, Joong,” Seonghwa replied, putting a hand on Hongjoong’s shoulder and looking him dead in the eyes. “I think we might be getting old.”
***
With a solemn pledge not to take too long, Seonghwa quietly let himself out of Hongjoong’s room and returned to his own to begin gathering the things he’d need to spend the night. Aside from his own stack of pillows and the additional one he’d promised Hongjoong, he also grabbed his phone charger, as well as a book to read in case the leader ended up falling asleep again before he was ready to go to bed himself. After a moment of thought, he decided it was probably also a good idea to grab himself a sweatshirt too. Hongjoong liked to have the AC on in his room when he was feeling nauseous to try and mitigate the hot flashes it caused, and while Seonghwa hadn’t been bothered by it when they were just hanging out, he knew he’d likely have a hard time actually being able to sleep in there if he didn’t bring an extra layer or two to keep himself warm.
Seonghwa walked over to his closet and was in the midst of rummaging through it to try and find the hoodie he wanted- a comfy, oversized grey one that he’d borrowed from Yunho a few months back and had yet to return- when there was a light knock on his door.
“Come in!” He called, doing his best to keep his voice down; he didn’t know if Wooyoung and Jongho had already gone to bed or not, but he didn’t want to be too loud and accidentally wake them up if they had.
A few seconds passed in silence. Seonghwa was about to repeat himself, thinking whoever was outside must not have heard him, when the door slowly creaked open and San’s head poked around the corner. “Hey, hyung,” he said. “Can I talk to you for a minute?”
“Yeah, of course, San-ah,” Seonghwa replied, making his way over from where he’d been standing to open the door the rest of the way. “What’s up?”
"I'm, um... I'm not feeling very well," San admitted quietly. "I think I might’ve caught Yunho’s bug.”
"Aigoo, Sannie," Seonghwa murmured, his eyebrows knitting together in concern. "Did you throw up? Or do you feel like you might? We can go sit in the bathroom, if you do.”
Out of all of the members, San was one of the least likely to get sick without warning, but the way he was currently leaning against the doorframe with his arms wrapped around his stomach had Seonghwa feeling more than a little worried, both for San’s own sake and for the sake of his floor.
San, however, just shook his head. “I’m okay for right now, hyung,” he reassured. “It’s really not that bad yet, I just thought it would be better to come tell you before it got any worse. You’ve already got a lot on your plate and I didn’t want to make things harder for you by waiting until… well, you know.”
“Thank you, Sannie, I really appreciate that,” Seonghwa said, giving San‘s shoulder a fond pat. The past two days had been filled with far too many surprises for his liking, and San's foresight in helping him avoid yet another emergency was a welcome change of pace. “Come here, why don’t we sit down for a minute?” He moved his hand to San’s back, ushering him over to the bed and gesturing for him to sit before doing the same. “Is it just your stomach that’s bothering you?”
“Yeah, and my head a bit, too,” San replied. “I don’t have a fever or anything though, I already checked.”
“Well that’s good,” Seonghwa said with a smile. Of course, there was no guarantee that San wouldn't spike a temperature later, but at least for now it was one less thing for him to have to worry about. “Did you tell Sangie already?” He asked, leaning forward to tuck a strand of hair behind San’s ear. “He didn’t say anything to me when I talked to him earlier, but that was almost an hour ago, so…”
San shook his head again. “No, he was in the shower when I came here. I can go tell him now though, if you want?”
“Yeah, um, can you please…” Seonghwa trailed off, his mind straying from the conversation at hand as the realization that he was going to have to entirely change his plans for the night finally sank in. While Mingi and Yunho were well enough now to stay by themselves, Hongjoong and San definitely both needed somebody with them, and that posed a bit of a problem, since Hongjoong really didn’t like being around any of the younger members when he was sick.
“Hyung?” San said, turning to look at Seonghwa after noticing his silence. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah, yeah, I’m fine, sorry,” Seonghwa replied. “I was just thinking about what I’m gonna do for tonight.”
Seonghwa was quiet for a while longer, weighing his options, before speaking again. “Okay, um, I think if we have Yeosang move his stuff to Wooyoung and Jongho’s room, then I can bring Joongie to his bed and stay with both of you in there instead of having to go back and forth all night. Does that… does that sound okay to you?”
It certainly wasn’t an ideal solution by any means, but Seonghwa couldn’t think of anything else that didn’t involve pulling in one of the healthy members to help, and ultimately he figured it was probably better to have Hongjoong be a little miffed at him than it was to risk further contagion.
“Yeah, whatever you think makes sense, hyung,” San nodded. “I’ll go let Sangie know.”
San pushed himself up from Seonghwa’s bed, wincing slightly as the movement sent a sharp cramp through his stomach. He tried to hide it, but he must not have done a very good job, because Seonghwa stopped him before he could go any further. “Go lay down as soon as you’re done talking to Sang, okay? And call me if you start to feel worse. I’ll try not to take too long, but I don’t know how quickly I’ll be able to move Joong. He’s been getting dizzy every time he tries to stand up and it’s like… a whole thing.”
“That’s alright, hyung,” San smiled, giving Seonghwa’s hand a reassuring squeeze. “Do what you need to do, I can wait.”
Seonghwa returned the smile, once again feeling incredibly grateful for his dongsaeng’s easy nature. “Thank you, San-ah,” he said softly. “I’ll see you soon.”
HELLO! Idk if u heard but hongjoong has been coughing a lot lately right? He thought it was flu, but it wasnt, he thought it was some like breathing issue but it wasnt that either.

I mean get well soon capt :(( but this would make a great sickfic especially if the caretaker is the one who already experienced it, Park Seonghwa.
Poor captain:( he put on such a performance in the fanmeeting too.
Okay thats all thankyou!!!
Oh I know, poor captain indeed :’(
I don’t usually watch a ton of lives but I’ve been watching his recent ones to keep up / clip things for clip blog and it’s been going on for so long, I feel so bad for him. Hopefully it resolves soon!
As for the sickfic…
I think that’s a WONDERFUL idea, however I am sadly too wrapped up in my current ongoing fic to write anything else at the moment, but! Perhaps someone else wants to write it? Opening the floor, anyone else want a MATZ prompt?
Hello??? Has everyone else seen this behind the scenes picture from the drinking WANTEEZ episodes? Because I hadn’t, and I’m losing my mind over it 🥹❤️
Oh my god this fic just KEEPS GETTING LONGER. The chapter I’m currently working on is already a continuation of what was just supposed to be one chapter because the scenes in the previous one got too long, and now I think I’m going to need to split it into a THIRD one because my word count is already over 2k.
WILL IT EVER END???? (I kind of hope not, I’m actually having a lot of fun lol, I just <3 complaining :))
Was briefly skimming an earlier chapter to try and check something and realized I accidentally wrote a plot hole in the scene I just finished because I’d completely forgotten about a single throwaway interaction that I’d written in this earlier chapter.
I mean, it was a relatively easy fix, so minimal harm done, but Jesus CHRIST why am I incapable of remembering my own storylines??
