“Beach body” and “cellulite” are terms we rarely put together, but plus-size bathing suit company swimsuitsforall has essentially said “Screw that” with a new ad campaign called “Beach Body. Not Sorry.” The best part: The campaign features plus-size model Denise Bidot — and is going where others won’t.
Eva Longoria and America Ferrera used the Golden Globes to make a great point about Latinas
While the above bit was lighthearted, Ferrera and Longoria were sending a larger message about Latinas in Hollywood, and perhaps even taking a jab at the Golden Globes itself.
Courtney Demone is a trans woman currently undergoing hormone replacement therapy and, as such, is starting to grow breasts.
Given this opportunity, she has a found a brilliant way to #FreeTheNipple.
Demone is launching the hashtag #DoIHaveBoobsNow and will post topless images of herself on Facebook and Instagram, “until those networks decide that my breasts have developed enough to be sexualized and worthy of censorship”
Demone is exposing privilege and hypocrisy all at one.
Guys, 4chan is planning on raiding Tumblr again to attack the tags blacklivematter, trans, feminism and 4chan. Stay out of those certain tags on October 1st.
‘No woman is a slut? Slut Walks are not positive because women who have lots of sex are not sluts. Women who are raped are not sluts. NO WOMAN IS A SLUT’ why do people insist on ‘reclaiming’ this word??? The fact that a 'womyn’s’ is centre supporting these views, is ridiculous. Stop Repackaging feminism.
I am deleting my tumblr account.
You have a few days to get in touch with me if you want but I will still have feministtwins . There are many reasons for this decision.
I am sorry for not posting more often lately and falling out of touch with many people.
In 2 years I have gained almost 800 followers and that has mean so much to me.

“ I thought through my options. Running 26.2 miles with a wad of cotton material wedged between my legs just seemed so absurd. Plus they say chaffing is a real thing. I honestly didn’t know what to do. I decided to just take some midol, hope I wouldn’t cramp, bleed freely and just run…
~66% of African girls know nothing about menstruation until they start.
~Only 12% of women in India use sanitary pads or tampons.
~More than 40 million women in the United States live on the brink of poverty.
~ A yearly supply of sanitary pads/tampons averages $70.00 a year. They are not covered by food stamps.
A marathon in itself is a centuries old symbolic act. Why not use it as a means to draw light to my sisters who don’t have access to tampons and, despite cramping and pain, hide it away like it doesn’t exist? Everyone was running for their own personal mission. And all of a sudden it felt entirely appropriate that I got my period on marathon day.”
Blogger who advocates for more liberal rape laws proclaims his "victory" in holding a speech in the city, but won't say where.
Controversial blogger Roosh V. says he has conquered Toronto. His critics disagree.
Last night, Roosh V., whose real name is Daryush Valizadeh, tweeted a picture of himself holding Saturday’s newspaper with the message “BACK TO BACK VICTORY. We won in Montreal and we won in Toronto. We will not be silenced.”
Later he posted a video titled “Toronto victory speech” and shared in on Twitter.
In the video Valizadeh describes his “battle” with public figures in Toronto who called for the cancellation of the speech he was scheduled to give Saturday.
“I have some great news,” he said. “Not only did we hold the event today but we held it in the original hotel.”
Valizadeh goes on to describe a “ragtag group” of “fifty or so men” who attended his speech, but does not mention the venue where it took place.
Critics of the anti-feminist blogger include Mayor John Tory, Councillor Norm Kelly and NDP MPP Cheri DiNovo.
DiNovo attended a demonstration at Queen’s Park on Saturday where dozens gathered to protest the presence of Valizedeh in Toronto.
“I think that people recognize the criminal that he is and that’s why he’s hiding and evading and wouldn’t say where he actually spoke,” she said.
More than 46,000 people signed a petition calling for his Canadian speeches to be stopped.
Valizadeh runs a controversial website called Return of Kings, where he has argued in blog posts that the incidence of rape could be reduced if the act was made legal on private property.
He’s also the author of a book he describes as a “textbook for picking up girls.”
The Star was unable to confirm the location of Valizadeh’s speech and whether or not it took place.
Regardless of whether the speech really happened, DiNovo said it was Roosh’s critics, not him, who won.
“I’m very proud of all of the women and men who signed the petition,” she said. “I’m proud of all of our elected representatives that stood up and did the right thing.”
