Hey, You’ve found your way to Spark Colony! This blog will follow the lives and events of the cats within this Colony, from the founders on day 1, to…. Well, wherever we end up I guess. We’ll see what the cats get up to.
Content warnings
This blog will contain blood, sickness, death (even of kittens if the rng decides), disabilities (possibly), cats fighting, abuse, etc. (depictions will be mostly non-graphic)
This is a general warning for the whole blog, and these things may or may not actually appear. I will tag pages with heavy amounts of these or other triggers with trigger warnings, but this is your main warning for these things.
Want to start reading the adventures from Moon 0? Start here.
After 3 moons of travel, 8 cats have come together during their own times of struggle in their travels. Our small group of cats now find themselves within a beautiful forest, where they can rest their paws within the alcove they find. They choose to make camp here, to begin their lives fresh amongst the trees, as their guide from SilverPelt blesses the unspoken leader of this small group, ZinniaStar, putting trust in him to protect the cats and home they will build. But, of course, beginning a clan, or colony as they prefer to call their group, from such small numbers takes time. Will this group of cats manage to find a balance together to survive?
Want to ask any of the cats a question (or myself)? The ask box is open, and asks are always encouraged. All cats that show up on a page will be open for questions (even those in SilverPelt). I’m happy to answer basically anything, including any questions about the characters, art, process or gameplay, so ask away! I’ll answer them all as I get the chance.
Any fanart/writings or anything else you make about the clan are also welcome, and highly encouraged if you want to do it! I absolutely love to see others works, so please tag me in them if you do. I will love to see them!

Well, hi there! I’m Lucky (prefer they/them pronouns, but any is fine), and welcome to my ClanGen blog! I’ve seen a lot of others around here, taking particular interest in ones like @splinterclan, @littlebloomclan and @redwoodcolony (which is where I’m getting a little inspiration from for this, since they are incredible!), so I decided I’d do my own. (I’ve been wanting to have a clan/colony I can make more lore around anyways). I love to draw and make up stories, so here is me doing both. Not sure how active I’ll be or how long I’ll keep this up for, but I’ll try my best so I hope you enjoy it! Though, I won’t promise there being any big story or anything, we’ll just see what the cats do, and if/when something crazy and interesting happens, we’ll roll with it. I will be trying to draw at least something for each update.
I’m a huge warriors cats fan, have been for a long time, and this blog is just a bit of fun I’m choosing to do, so it may not be great or consistent in updates, but I’ll do it when I feel like it and I hope it’s a bit of fun for you too! My main blog is @luckyvulpine incase you wanna check it out, though I’m not all that active on there I do plan to post occasionally with things not related to Spark Colony. Any and all Spark Colony related stuff will be kept to this blog.
Also, shout out to the ClanGen devs, @officialclangen, for making such a fun game. I love messing around with my clans on it and I can’t wait to see what kind of chaos and/or drama occurs for Spark Colony.
💚(Clanwide)- Are there any polyamorous cats in your Clan? Infodump about them!
Ooo! Yes, the colony does have one canon poly cat as of the current time! I haven’t had any poly relationships yet (as of where I’ve played ahead of the current moon in the comic), so some of the other cats could come to be shown to be poly later, but for now the only cat that is poly is Ren!
There’s nothing in-game yet to show it, but Ren is our resident poly cat. He’s also pan, and a demi-male (he/they). They’re just so loving and friendly and couldn’t see himself settling with only one cat if he fell for multiple cats. I can’t wait to see if we get any poly relationships in the colony soon!
If you didn't see, the Clangen Creator Community celebrated it's 1st birthday on March 23rd, so we thought we would run the same event that we ran the first month that the server was open - a banner event!
The original event featured 38 cats, but this time we were able to have a gathering of 60! Each cat was drawn and submitted by a different creator in our server in their own unique style, meaning we also have over 60 art styles represented here, which is so incredibly cool.
HUGE SPECIAL THANKS TO @bristleclanismissing, whom we commissioned to make the background but graciously assembled and FULLY SHADED the whole piece! Thank you so much, Coffee <3
We mention it a lot, but we are truly so grateful for this community, and hopefully the immense amount of love put into this project by our participants is easily felt. Here's to another year of creation!
It’s so cool to see everyone’s cats together! I love being a part of this community and was happy to get to add my own cat (FrostPaw’s just happy to meet new cats). They all look awesome together!
Stars glinted through the sparce branches that stretch over the hollow of Spark Colony’s camp, the walls of the hollow blocking out the biting chill of late leaf-bare winds. Around camp it was quiet, just like any other night; ZinniaStar, EmeraldFeather, Ren, and LarchStripe were already asleep in the alcove most of the cats had built their nests in, most of them close to keep warm, though like always LarchStripe slept in the furthest corner away from the others. However, one cat in the den found herself unable to sleep, her tail twitching with irritation, ears flicking at every sound. Perhaps it’s the fact FrostPaw was still sick that kept TansyStep restless, or maybe it was knowing both her kits were still awake, as the recently named HushRoar had rarely been leaving her brother’s nest at night. Or maybe it was simply those pesky feelings the young tabby felt around the Colony’s healer that was plaguing her mind tonight. Whatever the reason, after the fifth attempt to settle failed, TansyStep knew she wouldn’t be getting much rest like this. She sighed and pushed to her paws, stretching before padding out of the den, careful not to disturb the others. Maybe AmberHaze would have something that could help her fall asleep, TansyStep considered as she paused in the camp clearing, glancing around before heading across camp to the healer’s den.
Within the tunnel of the healer’s den, ReedTuft and FrostPaw both rested while they recovered from the season’s yellowcough that had spread in camp, young HushRoar lay beside her brother, the two quietly talking as to not disturb their deputy’s rest. TansyStep peered into the den, her green eyes glinting in the dark as she looked for her friend, only to find the colony’s healer missing from her nest.
“Everything okay, ma?” FrostPaw’s soft, raspy mew came from the sheltered space as he spotted the other cat by the entrance. TansyStep twitched her ear as she turned to her kits, a flicker of concern in her gaze. ‘He still sounds so sick…’ Her mind worried, FrostPaw had been sick for almost two moons now, and with him being weaker than most cats, TansyStep couldn’t help but worry about him.
“I’m fine, hun. Just wanted to ask AmberHaze something, did she say she was going somewhere?” the tabby asked calmly, not wanting to give either of the young cats anything to worry about. The littermates glanced between eachother, confused, before the smaller of the siblings turned back to answer.
“She said she was gonna look for somethin’ by the stream.” HushRoar mewed, curious, though neither of the young cats pressed further when TansyStep simply mewed her thanks and stepped back out, though not before reminding the two they need to sleep, especially since HushRoar was on hunting patrol in the morning. TansyStep’s fur prickled slightly as she retreated back to the clearing of the hollow. Something about AmberHaze being out there alone didn’t sit right with her, not this late. ‘It can’t hurt to just check on her, right?’ TansyStep mused to herself as she padded to the camp’s entrance. The young she-cat had noticed some differences with the dusky-brown healer lately, she seemed more stressed, a bit distracted even, jumpier than usual, and TansyStep was worried something was wrong. She fluffed up her thick fur as she stepped out of the camp and into the forest, frost-nipped grass prickling her pawpads as she followed the path towards the stream, ears pricked for any sounds of trouble.
The stream glinted with reflections of starlight on the thin ice as TansyStep walked along the bank, glancing around until she spotted a familiar brown and white she-cat sat by the edge, her honey-coloured eyes sparkling with reflected starlight as she stared up through the barren branches, to the skies where SilverPelt watch over all creatures. AmberHaze seemed lost in thought, not noticing the younger she-cat’s approach.
“There you are!” TansyStep chirped softly, her usual energy tempered by the quiet of the night and her concern for the other cat. AmberHaze’s ears pricked up sharp, tail bristling for a moment with a start, before recognition flashed in her gaze, the healer forcing her fur back down with a sigh as the young tabby took a seat beside her, tail rested at her paws. “What’s going on, AmberHaze? You’ve been jumpier than a newborn bunny lately.” TansyStep asked as the other looked up to meet her gaze. AmberHaze’s eyes were filled with a mix of emotions; nervousness, worry, uncertainty, and perhaps even a flicker of excitement? Her tail twitched at her paws as she sighed, ears lowering, turning her muzzle back towards the skies.
“I… I’m just worried about ReedTuft and FrostPaw, that’s all.” AmberHaze murmured carefully, though TansyStep could sense she was holding something back. Of course TansyStep knew better than any of the colony why AmberHaze would be worried, FrostPaw’s always been weaker than most, even as a kit he got sick more often and tended to struggle with his breathing at times, but the young tom had been doing much better ever since they met AmberHaze and she was able to find ways to help him get stronger, and TansyStep trusts that the healer will be able to help their colony-mates just fine, she has so far. She placed a paw on AmberHaze’s shoulder lightly, tilting her head to be more on the other she-cat’s level. “Hey… you said yourself they’ll be okay. What’s really going on?” She asked again, softer now but no less insistent. TansyStep knew something else was going on, and she could tell AmberHaze had changed recently in some way, she just wasn’t sure why.
AmberHaze sat silent for a while, nothing but the quiet sounds of the night passing around them, before she sighed, her gaze dropping to her paws as she scuffed one against the ground. “I’m… expecting kits…” The dusky she-cat mewed at last, hesitant, but also slightly hopeful. TansyStep’s ears pricked up in surprise. Kits? TansyStep hadn’t even considered that, though perhaps it made sense. It would explain that sense that something had changed she hadn’t been able to place. TansyStep shook herself from her thoughts, her eyes lighting up with excitement. “Really? How long? Who’s the—“ The young tabby paused, cutting herself off from her own questions as AmberHaze’s posture registered. She looked uncertain, nervous. That… made sense when TansyStep thought about it, she had been pretty nervous about her own litter, and this is probably AmberHaze’s first litter herself. Plus, TansyStep reminded herself quickly, not everycat likes to share who the sire of their kits are, maybe she shouldn’t ask that one so soon. She settled back down, trying to calm her usual energy, ducking her head to catch AmberHaze’s gaze. “Hey… It’ll be fine. You’ll have me and the rest of the colony to help out! However this happened, we’ll be there for you.” She offered a smile. AmberHaze glanced up at the other for a moment before chuckling, her shoulders relaxing a little from their tense posture. “Thank you, TansyStep. I know I can count on the colony for help, and I am excited. I… I wanted to raise kits of my own. I guess I’m just… worried now isn’t the right time.” The healer paused, looking back up to the stars. “I had hoped FrostPaw would be better before it became too much to continue my duties, but now ReedTuft is sick as well… I can’t help but wonder if I made a mistake.” She confessed. TansyStep felt her heart ache at the worry in AmberHaze’s voice, pressing against the other she-cat’s side in comfort with a purr. “There’s always gonna be reasons we need you, AmberHaze. Doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do something for yourself too.” The tabby reassured her with a gentle lick. TansyStep turned her own gaze to the stars, ignoring the heat prickling under her pelt, her ear twitching in contemplation. “Besides, I could always cover for you! I can gather the herbs and stuff, you just tell me what to look for.” she added with a light mew. AmberHaze looked to the younger she-cat, startled, ears pricking back up. “Are you sure? I wouldn’t want to put that pressure on you…” TansyStep rolled her eyes at the other’s words, a hint of amusement in her mew now. “Oh hush. I’m offering, aren’t I?” She chirped, brightening again at the glint of relief and gratitude in AmberHaze’s gaze. The older she-cat pressed against TansyStep’s thick fur gratefully, her own purr soft, tail flicking at her paws. “Thank you…” TansyStep glanced back down as the other paused again, tilting her head slightly, curious. “Just… don’t tell anyone yet, okay? I’ll tell them when the time is right.” AmberHaze mewed gently, seemingly not quite ready to tell anycat else yet. That made TansyStep feel more special, that AmberHaze had trusted her enough to tell her about this before anycat else. She had questions, of course, but those could wait until the healer was ready to share them on her own terms, so the young tabby simply purred a soft agreement instead, deciding to sit there and protect AmberHaze from the icy winds until she felt ready to return to camp.

Decided to do things a little different for this part, hope you like it!
Busy moon! Hush finished her training early, hopefully her brother can catch up. Seems the colony still has loners and rogues wandering near the borders.
To all who celebrate - Merry Christmas! To those who don’t, I hope you have a wonderful day and get yourself a treat! Your regularly scheduled CCC spotlight will return on January 1st, look forward to it~
Thank y’all for a wonderful year of clangen stories, here’s to many more!
Hey everyone! It’s been a year since I started this silly cat blog, and it’s definitely been a lot of fun so far. I want to thank everyone that’s shown interest in my little kitties, it means a lot that anyone would actually want to read their story, and I’m enjoying getting to bring their lives to life through the comic. I know things have been a little slow going, and I had hoped to be further along by now, but life sometimes just decides to get in the way. Either way, I’m looking forward to sharing more of their adventures with you all over this next year. I won’t spoil anything, but we’ve got some pretty exciting events coming up fairly soon, and I’m excited to get to them!
Anyways, as drawing has been a bit hindered for me with my current RSI, I didn’t have the time to work on something for this. So instead, I’m taking a writing approach to share the backstory, or at least a part of it, for one cat in particular. If you saw the polls, you already know who won, so I hope you enjoy learning just a little more about LarchStripe.
TW: fighting, death
——————————————————————————————————————
The warm morning sun glinted brightly as it shone down on the hollow, cats making their way around the camp, focused on their tasks. Amongst them, a ginger warrior with tan fur over their tail and right eye was preparing for an early hunt. LarchStripe padded through the camp until they spotted MintFall, the grey tom’s fur making him easy to spot as he sat with GladeClan’s deputy, LittleRain.
“Hey, MintFall!” LarchStripe called as they walked over, drawing both cat’s attention to them. LittleRain’s eyes narrowed at the ginger cat, tail twitching slightly in annoyance, while MintFall held a slight tension in his body.
“What, LarchStripe?” The younger tom asked, a hint of coldness in his tone making LarchStripe’s ear twitch, though they held their tongue in reacting as they responded. “I thought it might be good for us to take SparrowPaw and MallowPaw hunting together, get in some team hunting exerci-“ LarchStripe tried to suggest before LittleRain interjected. “MintFall and I are already taking his apprentice out for some battle training with HoneyPaw.” There’s a slight tone of hostility in the deputy’s words that made LarchStripe’s tail bristle slightly. They once again bit their tongue as they replied, though it’s harder to hide their frustration at the way their clanmates are acting this time. “Fine, I’ll go see if SnowFang wants to take FoxPaw with us instead.” They retorted, already getting ready to go find the white-furred she-cat, but LittleRain stopped them. “They’re already out on patrol. Just take SparrowPaw to hunt, you can do this training another time.” The deputy’s tone suggests she isn’t interested in arguing, though LarchStripe was used to that by now. They flicked their tail slightly in irritation as they dipped their head, taking the words as an order and turning to fetch their apprentice. As they left, they caught the two cats whispered words behind them. “I still don’t see why HareStar gave them an apprentice. They’re just going to turn against us.” That was MintFall, the tom barely hiding his contempt. “I warned HareStar against it.” LittleRain responded, her own distrust clear. “He said we shouldn’t let a warrior’s skills go to waste. I keep telling him SparrowPaw would be better off with a different mentor, but he’s set on making LarchStripe do it.” She added with a sigh, making MintFall growl in frustration. “I’ll never understand what our leader was thinking. You can’t trust them with the future of our apprentices. They’ll betray us, just like their father.” The grey tabby practically hissed. LarchStripe bristled, but they didn’t turn back or say anything. They couldn’t get into a fight with the deputy and another warrior, not with the rest of their clanmates around to watch. That would just be proving their point, wouldn’t it? “Whatever…. It’s always the same around here.” They muttered to themself as they walked away. They’ll show them. LarchStripe knew they would be the best mentor and warrior GladeClan had ever seen, that would prove the clan that they aren’t just their father’s kit.
“SparrowPaw!” LarchStripe called out as they stepped closer to the group of apprentices hovering around their den-space. The young brown-furred tom looked up as his mentor walked over, his sisters stopping their little practice scuffle to look over as well. SparrowPaw was quick to jump to his paws when he saw the ginger cat, his cream-tipped tail twitching nervously. “Y-yes LarchStripe?” He asked, his voice shaking slightly. His sisters, HoneyPaw and MallowPaw, both cast eachother sidelong glances, muttering to eachother quietly, HoneyPaw seeming a bit more closed off when she spotted LarchStripe than MallowPaw was. LarchStripe smiles a little at SparrowPaw’s nerves. He was always so cautious but so desperate to do well and make LarchStripe proud, it made the warrior glad they got the chance to mentor him. At least he treated them like a normal cat, and not like they’re about to betray the clan at any moment. “Easy, SparrowPaw.” LarchStripe chuckled as they stopped by the apprentice. They can see the girls talking, and can only assume they’re discussing whatever their mentors have told them about the ginger cat. It’s frustrating, being treated like an outsider all because of their father’s actions, but LarchStripe has learned to ignore it. The clan still trusts them enough to hunt and protect the borders, and HareStar trusted them enough to make them a mentor. They’ll just keep trying to prove themself to the clan until everyone saw they can be trusted and they won’t be another part in their father’s legacy. “We’re going hunting, the prey pile is running low.” LarchStripe continued once they had SparrowPaw’s attention. The young tom’s emerald eyes glinted with excitement as he quickly bounded over. “Okay! Are HoneyPaw and MallowPaw coming?” He asked, hopeful. LarchStripe felt a pang in their chest as they shook their head apologetically. They know how much SparrowPaw wants to patrol and train with his sisters, but the girls’ mentors never wanted to be out with LarchStripe, always had some excuse. “Sorry, Sparrow. LittleRain said she and MintFall are taking them for battle training. But I’m sure you can tell them all about the hunt later.” LarchStripe meowed, hoping the offer of having a story later for his siblings would be enough to soften the blow from once again being not allowed to train with his sisters. SparrowPaw looked a little disappointed, but he quickly shook it off, trying not to let it show as he nodded. “O-okay. Let’s go catch something then!” He tried to sound positive, but LarchStripe can hear the nerves in his voice. They can’t blame the young cat for being nervous. The territory hadn’t been the safest lately. In fact, it hasn’t been particularly safe since LarchStripe was an apprentice themself, and that was many moons ago, but lately it’d been getting worse again. LarchStripe flicks their tail to indicate SparrowPaw to follow, silently promising to keep him safe and reminding themself of where they should avoid if they’re going to be out alone.
———————————————————————————————
“Good catch.” LarchStripe praised as SparrowPaw hesitantly padded over with the mouse he had managed to catch. The young tom’s ears perked up at the praise, his eyes lighting up excitedly. “Th-thank you!” He mewed around his catch as he bounded over to keep up with the ginger cat’s pawsteps. LarchStripe smiled, they always enjoyed seeing the way the young apprentice got so excited over the smallest praise. He was so timid most of the time, it was nice to see him be proud of himself. “We should take these back to camp. We’ve got some good hunting in.” They said, leading their apprentice back along the territory, carrying a rabbit they had caught earlier. The two walked along the peaceful glade, talking casually on their way back to camp. At least they were, until a scent hit LarchStripe’s nose that made them freeze.
“SparrowPaw, behind me.” The ginger cat instructed immediately, shifting to stand protectively infront of him, dropping their prey at their paws as they listened for trouble. ‘How did we get so close to the border?’ LarchStripe’s mind was racing as they scanned the area, looking for trouble. They hadn’t meant to bring SparrowPaw this close to this specific border, but there wasn’t much they could do about that now. “LarchStripe…? W-what is it?” SparrowPaw asked, the brown tom tilting his head in confusion, shifting nervously at his mentor’s sudden change in attitude. LarchStripe turned their attention to the apprentice briefly, not wanting the young cat to panic. “It’s okay, SparrowPaw. Just stay close, we need-“ the warrior’s meow was cut off by their own yelp as they felt a weight slam into them, knocking them away from the younger tom. What happened next was a blur, flashes of fur and claws, growls filling the quiet air, the scent of blood catching the wind. LarchStripe fought fiercely, clawing and biting, trying to get their attackers off them, and despite the numbers disadvantage, they were holding their own well. At least until they heard a scream that made the ginger cat freeze, their blood running cold. That momentary distraction was all it took for their attackers to overwhelm them and have them pinned. LarchStripe tried to struggle out from under their paws, but a hiss drew their attention to what was before them, making them stop in place.
“I’d be careful if I were you. Unless you want to see your little trainee dead.” LarchStripe’s gaze darted up to the source of the voice, their heart practically stopping as they saw SparrowPaw being held in the paws of a grey tabby, one that was all too familiar to the warrior. “Let him go!” LarchStripe hissed at the rogue, eyes wide with anger and fear as they saw the panic in SparrowPaw’s emerald gaze. The rogue just chuckled, as did the other rogues surrounding them and holding the ginger cat in place. “Where’s the fun in that, Ember?” The tabby retorted, making LarchStripe flinch at the name. They didn’t have much time to think on it though, as the rogue held SparrowPaw tighter, claws pressed to the apprentice’s throat. LarchStripe could feel one of the other rogues digging their claws into their head, but all their attention was on SparrowPaw as they tried to find a way to get to the apprentice and free him. “I think we should make an example out of you two. Remind your clanmates what happens when you step into our borders.” The rogue continued, her amber eyes glinting dangerously. LarchStripe felt panic rise in their chest as they started struggling to free themself, desperately trying to pry themself from the grasp of their attackers, but with two cats using their full weight to hold the ginger warrior down, it was near impossible to move. “L-LarchStripe?! W-what’s-!” SparrowPaw tries to call out, his voice panicked and confused, but his words died in his throat as the tabby rogue holding him slashed her claws over his neck, causing the young apprentice’s eyes to widen. The rogue dropped his body as blood seeped from the wound, pooling fast around the brown tom as he struggled to breathe. Tears pricked in LarchStripe’s eyes as their struggles ceased. They stared as SparrowPaw gasped and struggled, frozen in place, the rogues around them seemingly laughing and taunting the warrior for the situation they’re in.
And then they snapped.
What happened next was a blur, all LarchStripe saw was red as they twisted out of the rogues’ grip and started fighting fiercely against the group. It was one against four, but LarchStripe didn’t back down, didn’t care about the odds. All they could think of was making these cats pay. They didn’t notice the sting of the rogues’ claws, not a single scratch registered. Not even when one tore into their ear, they just kept fighting, adrenaline shooting through their system. Their fighting technique became vicious, underhanded in the ways they struck, but through the haze all they could see was the terrified look their apprentice had on his face, and the monsters that did that to him. It’s unclear how long the fight lasted, LarchStripe didn’t notice. It’s only until the tabby that was taunting them went limp in LarchStripe’s grasp that they realised the other rogues had run off, clearly having decided the fight wasn’t worth it. As the haze in the ginger cat’s eyes faded, they tasted blood on their tongue, felt it sticking to the fur around their paws. They released their jaws from around the tabby’s throat to see the she-cat dead beneath their paws, though they couldn’t bring themself to even feel sorry for the cat’s death. Their gaze darted around for the other rogues, taking in the sight of the battle, or what was left, until their blue eyes landed on the limp form of SparrowPaw, his eyes wide and glassy, blood pooled around him in the grass.
“No…. Nononono…” LarchStripe ran over, heart racing in fear. This couldn’t be happening. They crouched down by the apprentice, listening for a breath, their heart beat, anything to deny what they were seeing before them, but they could feel no signs of life, the tom’s body already starting to cool. LarchStripe buried their muzzle in the small cat’s fur, pleading for him to wake up, pleading for StarClan not to take him so soon. But they knew deep down there was nothing they could do. It was already too late. They sat there for several minutes, just desperately pleading for him to be okay. They knew they had to take the young cat back to camp eventually, had to explain what happened, let his family grieve. They didn’t want to, didn’t want his family to suffer like this, didn’t want to face the truth of what had happened. But they couldn’t just sit here either. They could feel blood dripping from the tear in their ear and the minor scratches littering their pelt, but they couldn’t bring themself to care.
“I heard it over here!” A voice snapped LarchStripe out of their daze. ThornTail. It wasn’t long before the russet tom walked into where the fighting had been, his fur bristling when he saw what remained. He was followed by a few other cats, including HareStar himself. LarchStripe heard them walk over, but couldn’t bring themself to look up until HareStar called to them directly. “LarchStripe, what’s going on?! What happened here?” The leader sounded concerned, but it didn’t take long for him and the rest of his patrol to spot SparrowPaw’s body, as well as the body of the rogue, and piece together they had been attacked. The whole clan knew how dangerous this border was nowadays, they avoided it as much as possible. LarchStripe felt themself shoved out of the way as ThornTail rushed to the apprentice’s side, calling out and trying to wake the young cat, eventhough it was clearly too late. “I-I tried… I didn’t…” LarchStripe stuttered, unable to find the words to explain. ThornTail’s eyes flashed with anger as he spun around, fur bristling, tail lashing. “What did you do?!” The tom hissed, causing LarchStipe’s ears to flatten as they took a step back, eyes wide. “I-I didn’t mean… I t-tried to stop them! Th-there were too many, I-I couldn’t-!” They’re cut off by a growl from one of the other cats, DustGrove. “Oh really? If that was true, how are you still alive? Why wouldn’t they kill you too?” LarchStripe’s gaze darted between their clanmates, unsure what to say. “What were you even doing over here?! Everyone knows you don’t come here without a full patrol! How could you let this happen to my little boy?!” ThornTail yowled, claws digging into the blood-soaked ground. The ginger warrior had no answer. They hadn’t meant to come here, it had been an accident that they ended up by the border. They had tried to get to SparrowPaw, tried to protect him. But why hadn’t they tried harder? They could hear the rest of the patrol growling and arguing, demanding answers, calling them a traitor, saying they knew the ginger cat would end up like their father.
LarchStripe found themself turning to HareStar as the leader called for quiet. They could see their own mother, MistDaze, standing behind the cream tom, even she was refusing to meet their gaze. She was one of the few cats that hadn’t held distrust for LarchStipe because of their father’s actions, but now even she seemed unsure of them. HareStar glances around the cats with him before sighing. “ThornTail, take SparrowPaw back to camp. We’ll have a vigil for him tonight.” The leader spoke, his voice solemn as the warrior carefully picked up his kit’s limp form and headed away. LarchStripe felt the urge to apologise, to follow so they can be there for the vigil, but the glares of their clanmates kept them in place as HareStar spoke again. “LarchStripe. I suggest you get out of my territory, now.” HareStar’s voice hardened, their gaze harsh, though there was a hint of regret held in his eyes. LarchStripe stepped closer, eyes wide. “B-but, HareStar! P-please, I didn’t-“ another hiss from DustGrove cut them off, their she-cat’s claws still out, tail twitching. HareStar shook his head. “Leave, LarchStripe. I cannot have a cat my clan does not trust within my borders. Not with these rogues pushing at them more and more every day. I will not risk in-fighting by allowing you to remain here.” His order is heavy with regret, but firm. GladeClan’s leader knew he had to prioritise the rest of his clan, even if he didn’t like punishing a cat for someone else’s misdeeds. LarchStripe stared for a few moments longer, before DustGrove got impatient and stepped forward with a low growl, clearly prepared to chase the other off if they didn’t leave. LarchStripe ducked their head, tail pressed between their legs. Perhaps it was the exhaustion from the fight, or the aggression from their clanmate. Perhaps it was the way their leader spoke, or how their mother refused to look at them. Maybe it was the guilt of not being fast enough or strong enough, or maybe the ginger cat was just still in shock from what happened to their apprentice. Whatever the reason, LarchStripe didn’t protest further, didn’t speak again. They just turned away silently, their movements stiff and slightly unnatural. They walked for a while, heading for one of the safer borders to avoid those rogues again, casting one more look over the glade they had called home, before setting out into unknown territory, their body still numb to their wounds, still feeling the blood staining their paws.
Hey everyone! So, we’re coming up on the 1 year anniversary of SparkColony as a blog, and I’d like to do something fun for it. So, I’d like your help deciding something for it.
Below is a poll of the founding cats of the colony (minus HushPaw and FrostPaw), and your choice is simple; which cat do you want to learn more about? Whichever cat wins the poll, I will write a story around a key part of their past, from before they formed the colony.
Which cat’s backstory do you want to learn more about?

You’ll have a week to vote, so go ahead and pick whoever you want! The Anniversary is August 30th, and that’s when I’ll post the story. I look forward to seeing who everyone is most interested in.

OMG?!?! The art and storytelling is incredible! Just found this blog recently, but I am SO invested in what’s happening right now, and those backgrounds are beautiful!
