lilah-tate:
Lilah sighed loudly, pushing her hair out of her face before looking up at the girl “I am having an off day. I just don’t feel myself… you know what, never mind” She blabbered before pushing herself off the ground. She did a quick glance around her, yes of course everyone was staring at them; perfect. “Anyway. I am really sorry. Usually the door is tougher to push open. I guess I just don’t know my own strength.” She said with a reassuring smile “Are you okay? Here, I will make you a coffee… on the house, of course.” She said taking a few steps backwards towards the coffee counter.
Alice raised one eyebrow at the girl her head shaking a touch. Her siblings hadn’t felt normal, she hadn’t felt normal. There was so much more going on. “I suspect many people do not feel like themselves today.” But until she had a reason to be concerned Alice wasn’t going to let this ruin her day.
“I’m fine, but I won’t turn down a cup of coffee either,” Alice spoke moving to the side to allow the girl further in. “Will you not get in trouble for that?”
{TAG DROP}
vvandxrlusts:
“Well, I wouldn’t be where I am if I didn’t know how to sweet talk, would I?” He smiled softly. “I hope so. You know more than anyone how much I hate feeling vulnerable.”
“No I suppose you wouldn’t.” Filling the glass up Alice made her way back over to her brother lifting her hand to slowly bring the water up letting it twirl around Julian’s head. “I know. but you’re with us, until this magic ends anyone will have to get through Abel and I. And besides no one can outwit you even as a human.”
vvandxrlusts:
“Not even for another drink?” Julian teased, waving his glass in the air. “Horrible water tricks do sound fun… Fine, but no singing. I want to avoid drowning myself as much as possible.”
“What a sweet talker you are, brother.” Alice stated downing her glass and pushing it back toward him. Smirking though Alice pushed herself up to grab a glass of water. “No singing I promise but Julian It won’t last long I’m sure. You’ll be back to your lovable vampire self in no time.”
Lilah peeked her head out from under the covers. It felt like the sun was shinning straight through her bedding. She peered around her room, her head throbbed from the sounds coming from outside her window, cars honking, birds chirping and…her neighbor talking to his mom on the phone? She threw the covers back over her face, curling into a ball. what is wrong with me?! She thought to herself, bringing her knees to her chest. She felt like she was going crazy. Am I dreaming? She thought sitting up, pinching her arm, her body flinching at the pain. Nope, definitely awake. She took a deep breath, only to smell the aroma of coffee. She lived above a small coffee and book store where she worked, but the coffee has never been this strong to her before.
She placed her palms on her forehead and rubbed aggressively. Lilah didn’t drink last night, so this was not a hangover. She shook her head and stood up. this is fine, you’re fine. maybe you’re sick. yes. sick. She kept repeating to herself in her head as she began to get ready for her shift at the book store. She popped a few Tylenol in her mouth and washed it down with a glass of water before heading on down to the store.
Lilah turned the corner, wrapping her small hand around the door knob to the store; usually it gets stuck so she needs to push a little harder. As soon as she put pressure against the door, it swung open launching her into the store and on her face almost tripping someone. Lilah began to push herself up her face growing red “I….I am so so sorry” she exclaimed
Alice’s reactions weren’t as swift as they normally were when she was a vampire but honestly she didn’t care all that much. She doubted it would last all that long, unless of course a witch was powerful enough to affect her whole family without any of her siblings knowing. Which she highly doubted.
So that left her to enjoy her familiar heartbeat and nearly get slammed into by a door and a short blonde. Neither which would be awfully pleasant in her current state of being.
Falling backwards Alice reached out to grab onto one of the tables to not completely fall over herself before staring down at the blonde. “You do know it’s quite rude to launch yourself into a store you could have slammed that door into me.” Alice spoke calmly.
Is that LUCY HALE? No, that’s just ALICE VANDYKE. She is 21 / 1,521 years old, and an ORIGINAL VAMPIRE. They are known to be SOFT SPOKEN and PARANOID, and they identify as CIS FEMALE.
vvandxrlusts:
“Well I’d better be in the lead by now.” He let out a soft sigh and shook his head. “And I couldn’t have asked for a better person to be miserable with.”
“I can’t give away the scoring. Makes everything too easy.” Alice mused before setting her glass on the bar top. “Is there anything I can help with to make you less miserable? Shall I amuse you with my horrible water tricks?”
OPEN STARTER
Playing with her new magic was something honestly Alice could not get enough of. She was connected to the earth again and while she couldn’t tell which type of merperson she had been turned into and by what magic, she was willing to enjoy it and by enjoying it she meant to play with it.
Including the water in the glass, she was currently meant to be drinking. The water floating up and around the glass at her seat in the restaurant. Don’t play with your food. The warning played through her mind but was it food, technically it was a drink. With that loophole she continued her movements until her attention was pulled by a glare in the room, something she wouldn’t have even given a second glance to had caused her hand to slip and the water to soak (or narrowly miss) the person walking beside her table.
“My apologies! It seems like my magic had gotten away from me.” Alice stated quickly standing if the passerby needed any help.
vvandxrlusts:
“Exactly, and I’m not about to let that happen. I have to be a better big brother than Abel, at least.” He chuckled softly as he took a sip of his own drink. “Miserable, for lack of a better word.”
“My favourite competition. Who is a better brother? I always seem to win something out of it.” Lifting the glass to her lips Alice eventually allowed her teasing smile to drop a touch. “Well, it’s a good thing I’ve appeared. I couldn’t stand if I left you to be miserable.”
vvandxrlusts:
The voice made Julian look up, his face lighting up when he saw his sister. “What kind of big brother would I be if I didn’t provide?” He smiled, sliding a glass across the countertop. “I need this more than ever right now, and there’s no use feeling sorry for myself when I can just as easily do it with someone else.”
“Obviously you wouldn’t be a great big brother at all.” Alice teased letting her lips curl into a smile. Taking the glass gracefully she swirled the liquid around. “Well you’re obviously in great company if you’d like to wallow in your misery. What is misery without company.”
“Look, I don’t offer to share my booze often, consider it a blessing.” Julian didn’t even bother to look up from what he was doing to speak to the other person. “Take it or leave it. Five, four, three, two…”
“Oh, I know you don’t share it often and that is why I’ll take it whenever it’s freely given.”
“What has you in such a generous mood? Am I able to get more out of your than just a drink?”
“LOOK. it’s just – i’m not saying there aren’t like – stuffy and practical uses for magic, like altruism or whatever-the-fuck, i dunno, never thought about it, but –” honey said, shrugging, “it’s just … what’s the point of being lowkey psychic if you can’t photobomb every unsuspecting human that passes? like. we gotta appreciate life’s small joys.”
“I’m pretty sure there’s a whole other set of fun things that could be done with being ‘lowkey’ psychic then just photobombing people. Seems like it could just become a little... boring.”

Charlie was getting incredibly annoyed with a spirit that was continuing to poke at him. They wanted his attention, clearly, but he was in the middle of a very busy park and looking like a crazy person wasn’t on his list of to-dos for the day. It was a blessing and a curse that was bestowed upon him as a medium. He had a book in hand, attempting to read to take his mind off the spirit and when the poking stopped suddenly, he thought he was home free… Then he felt just one more poke. “Will you please knock it o—” And in true Charlie fashion, he messed up. Again. That definitely wasn’t the spirit who was poking him. “I didn’t– I thought– My bad. Sorry.”
Alice had always been a people watcher, in all her years of living she loved just watching people. She could tune into them and literally just watch the emotions that would run across someone’s face as they read a book. Which in this case she was doing exactly that. Yet the book title and his growing annoyance didn’t seem to fit. And ever curious Alice wondered closer poking at his shoulder to get his attention blinking at the snap.
“Have I poked you before?” Alice questioned looking for more information from the boy.
