Charlie was getting incredibly annoyed with a spirit that was continuing to poke at him. They wanted his attention, clearly, but he was in the middle of a very busy park and looking like a crazy person wasn’t on his list of to-dos for the day. It was a blessing and a curse that was bestowed upon him as a medium. He had a book in hand, attempting to read to take his mind off the spirit and when the poking stopped suddenly, he thought he was home free... Then he felt just one more poke. “Will you please knock it o---” And in true Charlie fashion, he messed up. Again. That definitely wasn’t the spirit who was poking him. “I didn’t-- I thought-- My bad. Sorry.”

Maybe it wasn’t a clever idea for a girl to take a jog at night, but what did Clem have to be afraid of? She could defend herself and she really needed to take a mental break from all the stresses already developing in this life. This vessel was healed of all illnesses since she took over, but she still wanted to exercise and keep in shape as well. A run was just what she needed. Lost in her thoughts and her music, she turned each corner around the apartments, hardly even paying attention until she had run right into someone and knocked herself down. “Whoa!” She pulled out her earphones, shaking her head as her cheeks warmed from embarrassment. “I’m so sorry!”

If you heard showtunes playing, chances are Asher was right there to sing and dance along.  Today’s soundtrack of choice was Singing in the Rain, which was especially important to him seeing how he’d earned to tap dance from Gene Kelly himself once upon a time, and as soon as the title song came on, a wide grin spread onto his face and the dancing resumed.  Noticing someone else in the room, he held out an inviting hand.  “Well c’mon, come join in!”

“hi,” taeoh started out lamely, giving a bright smile as he held a small stack of papers and a pen. “i know you’re probably really busy, but hear me out, please? first off, i’m dr. kim -- but you can call me taeoh. i just moved here and i’m actually trying to collect information from other species so we can have more well-rounded medical knowledge. you know, so we can help everyone and not just humans. i’m kind of the only one doing it, but any help would be awesome! you can tell me about species-specific illnesses or conditions -- or let me sample your blood. if you don’t want to do any of that, we can just enjoy some tea together. if you drink tea, that is.”

Abel had found himself in his normal seat at the bartop, waving his hand at his usual bartender so she could prepare his drinks. This was common, and while he usually had a conversation with her first, he found he just wanted to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. As his drinks arrived though, he set it to his lips and took a small sip, watching closely as someone slumped down next to him like a rock. “You look like you could use a drink,” Abel said, sliding one of the glasses of whiskey toward them with the tips of his fingers. “Drink up. More where that came from.”

                          His jogs along the steam mattered to him, and in the warmer months he’d continue his routine all the same... just opt instead to stick to the forest parts of the trail. At the end, he leaned against the cool brick of a foundation under a tree and removed his shirt. He slid down to sit on the ground and debated laying in the stream when he saw someone coming around. “Perfect weather,” he called out. “Been swimming anywhere, yet?”

Busing herself with inventory, Vi lost herself in the sweet sounds of the finest jazz musicians. Her shop was filled with a few regulars today who’s idle chit chat buzzed quietly in the background.The aroma of freshly made mint and jasmine tea fragranced the air in a warm blanket of relaxation. A small jingle of the bell broke her concentration and looked up to smile at who had entered. “Hello. What can I get you?”
