ginny is shaken awake as her best friend climbs out of the hammock, and quickly stretches an arm out to grab the blonde’s wrist. she needs to wake luna up, make sure that she doesn’t accidentally leave the  s a f e  r o o m.

she sits the rest of the way up, mostly awake by this point. the hand around luna’s wrist is joined by a hand on the opposite shoulder, and ginny shakes lightly, trying to wake the girl without the rest of the scared children in the room screaming out.

❛ c’mon, lune. wake up. ❜

finally, she wraps both arms around the girl in a hug, and squeezes gently. luna needs to be woken in a nice way; needs to not be afraid in that space between dreaming and seeing clearly. the nextfew words are whispered into the sleeping girl’s ear, ginny praying that she will wake up without a struggle.
