she cocks a brow. wally.. the name stirred at the dust that had collected in her brain. remembering a lost friend… another earth… it was all a bit m u c h , wasn’t it? but dick had gone along with it, even put them in touch. and she trusted dick with her life.

she sighs in resignation. “alright, okay. what the fuck, right? as if this is the weirdest thing that could happen.” she was still skeptical, but… she couldn’t risk just ignoring this guy if he was right. she stretches her hands out, palms up against the cool wood surface of the wood. “c’mon, do your thing. let’s see if this really works.”

       “ okay, i know i sound crazy. but it’s super hard to explain and i don’t really get it either. but, uh, if this doesn’t work, don’t blame me, cause linda thinks i’m insane too and that’s enough for me. ” just thinking about how babs would think if this didn’t work was enough to make him spin yet again. he was getting ready to speed away at top speed if it didn’t.

       “ okay, but if dick asks, don’t tell him we held hands. and if you do that thing where you exaggerate and tell him i said something romantic as a joke i’ll take you to china and leave you there. ” the joke was probably lost on her, not having explained his powers yet, but he thought it was funny. either way he hesitantly lowered his hands onto her, making a, likely very attractive, cringing face in case she was about to punch him.

       in all honesty, it had looked like the young speedster had gotten bored and decided that crashing into stuff was how he wanted to spend his afternoon. it was wally – she wouldn’t have been that much surprised if that was the case.

zatanna arches a brow as she sits on one of the chairs, one long leg crossed over the other. ‘  i’m guessing you’ve been at this for hours? and of course the flash makes it look easy ! he’s been doing this stuff for years. however … they do say practice makes perfect.  ’

       he was bruised and frustrated, he was just glad he had that healing factor to help with the bruising. it still didn’t help that he was getting frustrated beyond belief. perhaps he should stop running and try it slowly. 

       “ yeah, he always makes this stuff look easy, it’s annoying. you should see us at family dinner. i’ve been trying to do this since i was, like, thirteen and this is the best i can do, ” he said, vibrating a single finger as he could push it into the counter top. “ i mean, i guess i stopped getting nosebleeds when i tried it, so at least there’s that. ”

she’s apprehensive to say the least, but when has that stood in the way of barbara’s endless quest for information? “alright, i’ll play along.” she sits at the table conveniently behind her, drumming her fingers on the table top. “the floor is yours,” she quips with a little flourish of her hands.

       a loud exhale as he tried to compile his thoughts. usually there was a big scene where he touched whoever he was trying to talk to and suddenly a flash where they remembered, but he was far from an expert on whatever had been happening. 

       he sat down, still not really sure what he’s gonna say. “ so, uh... i’m wally and this is gonna sound super weird but uh-- you and me used to be super good friends, but you don’t really remember that. i think i’m from another earth or something, i’m really not too sure. in all honesty i got dick to remember me and i really don’t know how i did it, it kinda just happened. ”
