While Harry didn’t doubt for a moment that Uma was the best person to represent the best interests of the Isle, there were times when he didn’t appreciate the extra work load it meant for him on the ship. Certainly he’d adjusted to being captain in her absence, but then she was back and gone and it would be good for moral to see her around more often, which wasn’t something Harry was saying just to get out of work on the Isle.
When Audrey breezed into the room, Harry promptly gave up any pretense of doing anything useful in favor of smiling at her, one arm going out to invite her closer - not that she needed the invitation. Once she was safely positioned on his lap, Harry spread his palms along her spine as he kissed her, humming a return greeting to the princess. “Was wondering when you’d show back up.”
Sometimes life required Audrey to go back to Auradon and while Harry usually tried to go with her, it didn’t always work out that way. “So, did you manage to get in and out without dear old grammy looking down her nose at you? Did you have a good time or a bad time I need to make you forget about?”
"I wanted to be back sooner--" he took the words right out of her mouth. "I can never get in and out without her knowing. I swear she has eyes on me at all times the minute I cross the border." Audrey sighed softly and her lower lip jutted out in a slight pout.
"I had a good time. Visited the fairies, they gave me something to bring back to you. It's in my cottage with the rest of the surprises I brought back. You know I can't stay away from you for long. You're my home, as is this place." A grin curled across her features as she leaned in to kiss him again.
"You keep yourself busy? Maybe next time you can come with me. It's always more fun with you." She reached up and brushed her fingers through his hair. He was always so busy, but she loved seeing him so involved. It was good for him.
