Things I found when researching Claudia's episode 5 looks.

1929 photo of women at Spelman College where I will always imagine Claudia attending. This site has info on 1920s day dresses.
On 1920s knitwear: Breasts and curves were particularly unfashionable, with women going to extreme lengths to appear flat chested with slim hips - many binding their breasts and wearing girdles, just as restrictive as the corsets they had rejected. Androgyny was all the rage with many girls adopting a boyish appearance wearing sweaters with shirts and ties. - by Susan of the Just Call Me Ruby blog. This would've been a pull for me personally.
After WW1, it was less a social stigma for women to wear overalls and avoid looking like they were doing "men's work" because most of the men were overseas and the women were left here to do whatever needed to be done.
I wasn't 100% sure but I think Claudia wore a newsboy hat but there are other hats with a similar make that she may have worn.
