✧。 jeong yunho. twenty three. male. 。✧ is that SPENCER MOON living at THE LINKS in APARTMENT 202? i heard the ART TEACHER has lived there for FIVE YEARS now. every time you pass by you can hear TONGUE TIED by FABER DRIVE playing. maybe they play it because they’re friends would say they’re the STARRY EYED. it could just me assuming things. even if they would say they are GENEROUS and AFFABLE that doesn’t mean they can’t be PASSIVE or GULLIBLE let’s just stop by and ask them sometime. considering they’d describe themselves as midnight walks and fresh brewed coffee when you can’t sleep, figuring which of your favorite books you want to reread, and paint spattered hands that’s if they’ll actually answer the door. good luck. hi loves! i'm sorry i'm here so late, i had to work today and only recently got off! besides that, i'm so excited to be here because it's been a hot dang minute since i've been in an rp, but i'm excited to be with you all nonetheless! until then, i'll be putting a bit below about this lil bean <3
spencer was born as the oldest child of five children, two younger brothers, and two younger twin sisters. being the eldest, responsibility always fell on his shoulders, which he didn't really mind for the longest time, and for some time he felt proud to take the responsibility of his younger siblings.
his parents working full time only seemed to heavy the load on the boy's shoulders, his growing siblings (and brothers specifically) becoming more and more rebellious. at first, he tried to do the 'authorative brother' thing and help them out, but it only got worse and worse.
his parents' approach was to move their children's schools when things got bad enough, but after the fourth move in two years, spencer had had enough and stood up to his parents, expressing how much he hated being moved around, and that it was hard to have to make friends and plant roots over and over again, only to lose them.
he thought that since he was always a reserved kid, never second guessing or back talking his parents, that they'd at least hear him out. but he was quickly proven wrong, both parents berating him for how ungrateful he was and how at least his younger brothers were thankful for what they had, despite their abhorrent behavior. they ripped into him for what he could've sworn was hours, and when they were done, the boy was left speechless.
by speechless literally meaning that he didn't speak to his family for days, ultimately packing up a backpack the night before their scheduled big move (out of state this time, specifically) to sneak out to a friends house and stay for the night.
of course, he woke up to a flurry of missed calls and messages, his mother, father, and siblings all sounding furious, and he knew it wasn't something he should've done, but he was nothing short of absolutely shocked when finding his house empty, his family indeed leaving before he had came back home.
spence stayed there for a few nights, living out of what he'd packed from his backpack, to wait and see if they'd come back for him, but after a week had passed, then two, he'd lost any hope that may had been left.
for a few months, the at the time sixteen year old would sleep wherever he could, whether that be friend's couches or even an underpass or two, before he was able to land a job at a bakery that was within in his normal path. it was owned by a sweet old lady that he tended to smile extra bright at everytime he walked into her shop. he was able to disguise his living situation majority of the time, but soon enough the woman found out and was kind enough to let him stay in her guest room.
he lived there until he turned eighteen and could rent an apartment on his own, and stayed at that job while he went to school. he didn't end up leaving the job until after graduating college, but he still stops by the bakery frequently.
nowadays he's an art teacher and loves it to pieces. it may not be the best paying job, but that's when he also does art on the side to earn some extra cash.
personality~
he is SUPER friendly tbh. he never meets a stranger and will easily talk your ear off if you allow him.
he loves any and all kinds of art, be it paintings or sculptures, plays, music, books, movies...you name it and he'll easily admire it.
on the topic of admiring, boy is a BIG hopeless romantic! he's got a big weak spot for romcoms/full out romance movies because he loves any and all kind of love stories. if he's in a relationship, he put his entire soul into it, be that little notes or random visits or monthly flowers...anything that he can shower his significant other with affection.
a magnificent cook. he kinda had to learn how to take care of himself as a whole once his family left, and the grandma he lived with cooked for him on the daily. after so long he asked if he could help and learned how to make a variation of different delicious foods.
he will do anything for those he cares about. need him to cover your lunch? sure. need a ride or someone to walk home with because you drank too much? of course. bought a bookshelf and didn’t realize it wasn’t assembled and now need help with it? he’s your guy. just ask him and he’ll likely be there in an instant.
possible connections??
the grandchild of the grandma he stayed with, because after them having seen him a few times at her house, they’d probably be a little confused before learning the whole situation. this could have evolved into a close friendship or even a relationship??
i’d absolutely love a best friend he’s known since he was with his family! maybe even they could’ve let him stay with them while he didn’t have a place to live for a bit? also would lowkey love if they had a stupid bromance like the boys from this movie (x) (x)
a midnight walking buddy, because he has many many sleepless nights and his remedy is to stroll along the city, and he’d be happy to have a friend to talk to while he does so
i’m gonna ask shamelessly, but i’d honestly love like an unknown baby mama for like, y’know, drama 👀👀👀 also bc i’m a sucker for parent plots. but like maybe it could’ve been an ex that unintentionally got knocked up and felt like he wasn’t put together enough to have a kid, so she never told him and tries raising it on her own? granted if or when he were to find out he’d 1000% want to be there, but them trying to figure out each other still would be fun
former & current coworkers! someone who may’ve worked with him at the bakery, or may even a frequent? and someone who works with him at his school, or even a student teacher or so. they could be someone he meets up with for lunch every now and then and talk (one taken, but could have more also if applicable!)
i’d love to have his siblings (granted that may more of a wanted connection on the main, but i digress) but they’d range from probably like 18 to 22!
and literally anything else?? ex girlfriends/hookups (which he’s not usually the type for a hookup, and would prefer a relationship, but we all know how alcohol can get sometimes akdsjf) former roommates, a bad influence?? he’s totally open for options! :D
i apologize for this being so long >.< once again i look forward to talking with all of you and like this if you’d like me to come to you <3
odette froze at the sounds of multiple things clattering to the ground. she was afraid to move, afraid to open up those big, darling eyes for fear of what the stranger had just lost in their unprecedented accident. one heartbeat thrums, and on the second she finally peeks, eyeing the other’s back as he situated his canvas while her hands moved with a mind of their own to collect various bottles. some had even rolled a couple feet away after the impact ! it was all very horrifying in her dramatic mind; horrifying and humiliating. “ je suis tellement désolé, je ne sais pas ce qui m'est arrivé, ” she spoke rapidly, the natural, smooth french accent slipping from her tongue. sometimes the native words just poured out, especially when upset and the pretty blonde seems fairly remorseful for the inconvenience caused. however, spencer cuts in jokingly, causing her to sit back for a moment, taking in his playful features before finally gracing him with a relaxed smile of her own. “ i don’t know … i’d say this was way more effective at getting your attention, don’t you think ? ” she giggled back, brown irises scanning over the mess before depositing some of his paint into the nearby bag they’d once took shelter in. a quiet thank you as he hands her the dufflebag, slowly getting to her feet with that dimpled grin in tact. “ me ? ‘m stronger than i look, trust me. —- would you like some help carrying this ? ”
it was truly incredible as to what exactly tone could do for someone's voice, because there was no chance at all that spencer knew even a fraction of what the girl hurriedly spoke after their collision, but from context clues he was almost certain it was some kind of apology. was he certain about this? not necessarily, the only french he really only slightly knew was from that surprisingly provocative song that everyone knew from the nineties, and he was sure nothing she uttered sounded like those lyrics. at the playful tone of her remark soon after however, he was glad he was seemingly able to pull her from her worries. "i mean, you're not wrong," spencer exaggerated with bit of a goofy grin before he continued, "plus i'm glad you took the more humane way and didn't try by like...smashing on my big toe or something, or even worse, intentionally smashing some of my oil paints," he temporarily held his hand over his chest as if the thought alone made his heart wrench, a dramatic face faux pain to accompany it. ready to decline her offer of help, not wanting to put his friend out of her way, he also thought of possibly running into someone else, and perhaps he wouldn't be as lucky with them being as understanding as odette. "that might just be a better idea, thank you," he admitted with pensive features, picking back up his canvas that he been idling on the side, "you think you could kinda be my eyes also?" he questioned, his gaze glancing at his obstructed view in hopes she'd understand. "i could even make you some lunch for helping me if you'd want?"
when spencer came running to her rescue she couldn’t help but smile. she felt a bit embarrassed that she cursed so loudly. then again the whole store was a bit quiet in all honesty. when he picked the book up for she chuckled. of course, his use of astrology terms were a bit off. it still made her laugh though. at least he tried to cheer her up when he didn’t have too. “that would mean my day would be moving backwards,” she corrected him while grasping the book in her hands. making sure that this time it didn’t fall to the ground. “not that i wouldn’t mind moving it backwards so i didn’t drop this book. yet, maybe i wouldn’t have ran into you so. maybe it’s just fate,” bree mused while opening the book she had intended to get. “well, looks like this is not the book i was looking for,” sighing she offered it to the other. “do you mind putting it up there for me. i’d hate to about knock myself out once more,”
the man was pleased that he could at least put a smile on his friend's face, even if it was at the stake of his own somewhat naivety or ignorance. "ahh," the man sounded aloud, nodding as he tried to break down the word in hopes it'd make a little more sense. "maybe that's why when people say something is retro, they're speaking of things that happened back then...aka the past. that makes sense right?" when he didn't understand larger words growing up, spencer was always taught to find the smaller words, and that's the only one he could pull and have it make sense. glancing at the book as bree opened it however, his gaze peered over the pages in curiosity before, trying to make out possibly anything he already knew snapping back to attention once she shut it. "yeah, of course!" spencer agreed easily, taking the book from her and setting it at the front of the ones that were identical to it. "hey, maybe that would make now, since the book was put back, no?" giving another small snicker, he glanced over the section she stood in front of more completely, taking in the varying fantastical cosmos and constellations that littered across all the covers. "if you don't mind my nosy, what exactly were you looking for?"
his eyebrows automatically raised as he found spencer in front of him. the other was holding so much candy in his arms he looked like a walking candy store. ky might not have liked the other at first. yet, somehow he grew on the other. maybe he was becoming a bit soft since he’d moved to san diego. or it had to do with his sister wasn’t dating him anymore. when spencer mentioned getting his septum pierced all he could do was laugh. just imagining it was certainly amusing. shaking his head he mused, “i mean i’ve seen worse things on other people. how about just your ears man.” he was very aware the other was joking, but he’d play along with him. it was all he could do anyway. “i’ve got some pretty flower earrings they’d be perfect,” he actually had the audacity to bring them out from one of the drawers in the counter. “oh? is that why you look like a boy scout selling candy? did she have a sell again? i’ve told you that old woman hustle’s you every time,”
after his initial suggestion, there was a bit of worry in spencer that maybe he sounded more stupid than joking, his original intent being the latter. but it was ky's eventual laugh that seemed to put him a bit more at ease, happy that they were on the same page. at the mention of worse things on others the man couldn't help his brow arch, eyes widening a bit in curiosity as to exactly what that may have meant. "worse like," his words were a bit drawn out, face certainly quizzical, "an eyebrow piercing?" he wasn't sure to what ends someone would pierce themselves, but figured that was one of the tougher looking ones. the next option ky bounced back to him took spencer a bit by surprise, the man absentmindedly touching his earlobe in thought. or at least attempted to the best he could with all the sweets. he'd never had any type of piercings, or tattoos for that matter, and was always worried how bad something like that would actually hurt, but he was always a little curious of such a thing. "i don't know, do you think that's the best thing to start with? i'm sure i could rock some flower earrings." he was back to his jokes by now, granted only half, but his smile was at full force once more. "i actually got kicked out of boy scouts, thank you," he noted with a firm nod. it wouldn't be the normal thing anyone would be proud of, but he hated the time his parents put him in such a place and gladly spoke ill of it anytime he could. "but it's hard when she's so kind and all of it's so delicious! like tell me none of this looks amazing? especially if you'd even get it for free?"
Nicolas had a wildly eclectic collection of friends. They ranged from messy to crazy, or in Spencer’s case, put-together. They were the same age, and yet Spencer seemed to be so much more calm, and Nicky was a little envious of it. He knew he had no one to blame but himself, and he certainly enjoyed being around the other. At the question, Nicky shook his head. “Nah, I think I’m done for the night, to be honest. So if you’re in a sharing mood, who am I to say no?” he joked, letting himself in. “Also, what’s with the face?” he said, gesturing at Spencer’s face. Although he was grinning now, Nicolas had certainly picked up on the previous expression. “Everything okay, dude? I don’t have to go bruise someone for you, do I?” he joked, not at all serious about going after anyone, and simply wanting to make his friend smile more than anything.
Happily welcoming his friend into his home, Spencer made sure to shut the door behind him before opening up the meal that would undoubtedly been plenty of food for the both of them. "Well you're gonna love it. Everyone that I've told about this place so far has been ready to go back pronto." As he was pulling everything out of their boxes, he had to admit he was a little confused at first, not sure what exactly Nicky was speaking of but with the touch of his cheek, plus an additional wince and a quick little "ah!" from the pain, he was reminded once more from earlier. This in itself made the man chuckle at his antics with the small shake of his head, knowing just how lame he would sound even before the words came out of his mouth. "Oh no, more along the lines of something like me beating myself up on the desks because I learned my lesson not to stand on them," he gave a sheepish smile as he scratched the back of his neck. "What's worse is this isn't even the worst I've hurt myself before. You'd be surprised I don't transport solely via bubble by now." Taking a breath to calm himself from his own dad jokes, Spencer cocked a brow at his friend with his own question. "You encounter any interesting customers today? I've heard some pretty interesting horror stories before.."
gia was beyond grateful for the support system she had when it came to her son. her brother was amazing when it came to caring for him. she had her best friends as well as spencer. who had been a constant in eun’s life since he was a baby. because of them, gia was able to live somewhat of a normal life. or as normal as her responsibilities would allow. she had agreed to go out on a date with a gentleman she’d met on a dating app. instead of her regular one night stands and leaving it at that, gia figured a nice dinner and seeing where the night leads them both to wouldn’t be so bad. she should’ve gone with her gut instincts, thinking this guy was a total jerk because the date ended on a very sour note. after leaving his apartment completely pissed off over his inability to understand what the word “no” meant, gianna rushed out of building and out onto the sidewalk, sitting on the curb while she waited for her uber to pull up. the entire ride home her mind was race, for once she wanted to feel as if she was worth more than just a random one night stand, yet as always men still expected something from her for putting in even he least amount of effort to get her into bed. she hadn’t even realized she was crying and her make up was starting to run until she reached up and felt the wetness against her cheek. she sighed once the car came to a stop outside of the complex and made her way up to her apartment, taking off her heels at the door before quietly letting herself inside and carefully shutting the door behind her. she hummed softly, hearing spencer call out to her as she walked through the living room on her way to her bedroom. “it was fine.” gia’s answer was short and dry. “was eun good?”
it didn't take a genius for spencer to be able to pick up on that something was wrong with gia as soon as she walked in, especially considering the damaged makeup that seemed slightly attempted to be fixed. despite this, his immediate response was something along the lines of, "oh well that's good," but he figured by the time he did speak up that she probably wouldn't have heard it. a fond smile etched onto his features from her question back to him, knowing that he'd gladly spend any night with his favorite little guy. "he was the best, as always," he spoke a little louder towards her open door frame, grunting a bit as he was now trying to lift both himself and the toddler still clinging to him up and off the couch. "but then i don't think he's ever really anything but great when i watch him." it was quite the task to pull up but once he had succeeded, slightly bouncing the boy in hopes to keep in still in the lull of sleep, he headed to put him in his own little bed. just a moment or two passed before he had eun tucked in, the nightlight on and secured before exiting the boy's room with the quiet click of his doorknob. "you know, before long i think he'll be able to be better than me at those paintings," the man only half joked as he walked back to just outside her doorway. "i think you might just have yourself an artist on the rise, miss gianna." the teasing smile remained on his lips for only a few seconds before he was reminded of her demeanor when she had walked through the door. now instead his features grew sincere as he stepped into the frame giving a quiet rap on the girl's door. "do you want to talk about it at all?" he tried gently before remembering one of the activities him and eun had done just earlier. "if you want, we can even rant about it over brownies?" he knew such a thing was a weakness for himself, and only hope the comfort food could do just that for gia in her time of need. "what better dessert that one that doesn't melt, right?"
Hi all, my apologies for taking a hot minute to get back to dms and replies! My laptop has been randomly shutting down on me so I'm gonna attempt to take it in before work tomorrow to a family friend and HOPEFULLY they can figure out what's wrong & fix it by the time I'm off :') But I hope everyone is having a great end of your week! 🥰
@giannaisms || ✶ ˖ ˙ the time was nearing midnight and spencer was fighting to stay awake at this point, the toddler on his chest not helping considering he didn't want to move in the chances of waking up little eun. but after a night that consisted of baking brownies, his own self proclaimed 'zoo time' that last way longer than he could've imagined, and some rather questionable looking finger paintings, the man wasn't surprised that after his bath that the little kid was down for the count. what he didn't expect however was that he himself would be as tuckered as the child, his head falling back to the comfort of the couch despite how many times he attempted to prop it back up. it wasn't until he heard a rustling in the apartment that he figured one of the ryong siblings had made it back home, peering open one eye to see just which one it happened to be. leaning forward gently enough when he noticed it was gia, making sure not to disturb his little man in the process, spencer cracked a drowsy smile at the girl. "hey there, mama," he greeted, his words still a bit sluggish while trying to blink the glaze from his eyes, "how did the date go?"
august was out enjoying the beach, her short legs stretched out on her towel while the umbrella she brought covered her from the sun. the day had been pretty shitty in the beginning as she got into a disagreement with a partner at the studio but then it mellowed out in the end after a doctor’s appointment. with a cute crop top covering her top half, she moved to lay down and relaxed against her backpack. “did you come to enjoy the weather as well?” she questioned once she heard the sand next to her get disturbed. cracking an eye open, she looked up at the other with a warm greeting smile. “come join,” she patted the spot next to her. // @twenty3starters
the summer was never the type of season that spencer liked to get out and go to the beach, the man never having been the biggest fan of the heat despite living in california his entire life. but now that things were rather cooling down quite a bit, he felt this weekend was a better chance than ever. after a few unsuccessful calls to find anyone to go with him, he figured such a thing shouldn't stop him, gathering all the supplies he could before heading out. it didn't take long for the man to make his way to the waves, staying in there until the point where it felt like his stomach was so empty it'd soon consume itself. figuring it was due time for a break, he began looking for a food vendor before getting caught off guard by a familiar face. "oh yeah," he agreed enthusiastically, "i haven't felt a day as nice as this in a long while." with her offer, spencer temporarily forgot about his desire for food entirely, sinking onto the sand as his soaked bangs fell forward. pushing them out of his face the best he could he offered august a friendly grin, "did you and the little man come here all by yourselves?"
the local bookstore had become a big spot for her over the years. it wasn’t far from the school she worked for or home. she loved collecting all the books that dealt with astrology. some even had some crazy horoscopes that she loved. as she tried to reach for a book on the top shelf before it came tumbling down. “oh shit,” she spoke before realizing someone was now beside her. covering her mouth with her hand as her cheeks turned red. oops. “i am so sorry. that was a bit louder then i thought,” @twenty3starters
it had been some time since spencer had read a truly good book. sure, he took his chances sometimes, which granted he still did find a few pretty good ones that he was at least able to enjoy. but if he was being honest, his favorite book was still one that he had read all the way back in high school, so he frequented the book shop to find any good new finds. he wasn't there long when he'd heard a small commotion, noticing he knew just the cause of it. bending down to pick up said book that fell, he offered the book to his friend, "hopefully that doesn't mean your day is out of retrograde or anything," he teased with the playful wiggle of his brows. he knew he'd heard that term before, but was almost certain he was misusing it, but who better to correct him than the woman knew better than any others?
