Today, August 1st, is the final day for authors to turn in summaries! 

Reminder that anyone who does not get their summaries in by midnight tonight will be dropped from the bang! Thank you so much, and I look forward to artist claims on the 3rd! 

There will be a second round of claims open for those that want to take on more than one fic the day after the first round of claims so keep an eye out for that!

Emails have been sent to check up on progress. We do need to get a good grasp on where you are in terms of completion rate, and whether or not you will be able to get a summary in to us by next week, so responses are required!

hi! i really want to participate but i’m still kinda confused about the whole process (as a writer) so i want to ask a few questions: firstly, do i have to develop a whole new idea with my assigned partner or can i work with an idea i have in mind and include them in whichever way is required? secondly: how long would i have for the claim (the 1k words + summary thing makes me nervous bc of the uncertainty in time)? 1/2

and lastly, how will the uploading process go? is there going to be a sort of compilation or fanzine? thank you so much for your time, and again, sorry for asking so many questions 2/2

Hi! So the idea that you come up with to write is your own idea entirely! We’ll assign partners after claims are over (which is probably not going to be for another 2 months or so, which we’re still working on a schedule) and will work to create art based on your fic. 

can i work with an idea i have in mind and include them in whichever way is required

Uploading-wise, there will be a collection posted on ao3 that you can add your fic to, but we’ll also have you make a tumblr post on your assigned date so we can reblog it as well. Thank you for the questions and I hope this helped! If not please feel free to shoot us more asks.

What’s a Mini Bang?

A collaboration event between writers and artists in which authors will write to a minimum word count (in this case, 4k words) and will receive an artist through an anonymous claims process. Both the art and fic will be posted together!

Can other ships be implemented as well?

Yes! Other ships are allowed, as long as the main, central ship is Quentin/Peter

Is NSFW content allowed?

As long as you’re over 18 and say so on the sign up sheet, yes!

When can I start writing?

You can start writing as soon as sign ups are over, which would be on July 12th!

Is there a discord?

Not at the moment, no

How much control do I have over the art?

As much as your artist is comfortable with, but this is a reminder that this event is a collaboration, not a commission!

What if I need to drop out?

If you’re an author, we can give you an extension on your posting date, but if you really need to drop out entirely, we just ask that you be mindful of your artist’s time and communicate with them and the mods as early as possible.  If you’re an artist, we ask that you contact your author to let them know, and we’ll have a pinch hitter take over

General Rules:

Content must be Peter Parker/Quentin Beck centric.

Since it’s... y’know, a Spiderio event

You must contact your partner within 48 hours of being assigned one.

You are required to stay in regular contact with your partner.

When posting, credit to your partner for their part must always be given

Writers:

You may submit one fic

All fics must be Peter Parker/Quentin Beck centric

All fics must be newly created for this event/never posted before

And on that note, you may not discuss the fic/post about it publicly until claims are over

Fics must have a 4k word minimum 

Completed fics must be uploaded to Ao3 on your posting date 

No WIP’s and no half-finished work

You must have at least 1k words + a summary ready by claims

Artists

Artists may claim more than one fic

1 piece of art minimum required per claimed fic

Art can be:

Digital and/or traditional art, Manips, Video edits/fanvids, Moodboards, Gifsets

Artists under the age of 18 are only allowed to claim General/Teen fics

You may not post completed works before your posting date.

You may post wip’s if your author is okay with it

Art created for the event must be brand new/never posted before.
