I’m not normally one for modern aus EXCEPT the idea of a modern au where paul mccartney is essentially just Sabrina carpenter if your catching my drift, and like maybe all the Beatles started out originally as solo artists but in this au they were brought together and formed a band or something idk i just want Paul McCartney to do the Sabrina carpenter Juno pose thing on tour and say have you ever done this one then bend over while John has to hide the fact he has a raging boner is that too much to ask for

The water was dirty.
As his legs slowly slip into the water. It lapped at his flesh, seeping in and soiling what good was left. It stings. An unfamiliar hue of vermillion, slowly, so pitifully slowly seizes the bath. His head lays firmly against the cold tile wall.
Was it blood? His eyes were too heavy, his hands too weak to care. A mess this was, a proper mess. What a sight to behold, tortured and broken. Above, if there was someone watching, they must have been a sadist. And Paul, as their faithful disciple, was a masochist. Letting them devour his essence, while their hunger was never quite satiated.
Paul’s legs shivered with tremors. His body didn’t feel cold, but he supposed he couldn’t feel much. He knew he was there, laying in the bath. His head lolled to the side. Yet, it was as if he were watching a film. An awfully grainy, disjointed, disarray of only a vague semblance of a scene. But a film nonetheless. He wasn’t present. He was a bored audience member, waiting for the tape to finish.
His surroundings blurred together too. In the beginning he could recall a running faucet. Or the details of the curtains and the rust which grew around the rings, and the broken lock on the door. They were all obscure now. As it became a more and more cumbersome task to keep his eyes open. His gaze was nearly completely hazy at this point. Even the red which floated at the top of the water seemed to grow lighter. Indistinguishable from what it touched.
At some point, he was sure he warred with the instinct to crawl off. Escape. Yet, Paul could not find the means in his limp limbs to carry himself from where he laid. He’d warded off all that was natural, all that was right. He’d relinquished control of his life long ago, but— there was something oddly warm in the act of forcing himself to become one unmovable mass. A clump of discarded meat that had no bearing on the world. It was simple.
He was tired, so very tired. A rest was what he had earned. His eyelids fluttered shut.
i think cozy low-stakes fiction where nothing bad happens to anyone can be good and violent grimdark tragedy where everyone suffers and dies can be good and actually there are lots of different ways for fiction to be good and interesting and it would be bad and boring if we decided there's only one appropriate level of conflict for stories. maybe we could all learn to enjoy many different things instead of insisting that entire broad genres we don't like or find cringe are inherently crypto-fascist. i think that would be nice.

Gonna be honest after reading "Why Does He Do That" by Lundy Bancroft, which kinda dispells all these myths around abusive men, it's very hard for me to buy into the idea that John can ever not be an abuser.
The thing in the book that blew me away was the dismantling of the myth that these men just "lose control". They don't. They make a conscious decision in their mind to hurt their partner because in their belief system it's right for them to do so. They have a right to. Their partner owes subservience to them or owes them sex or any other thing and when the partner doesn't do that it means they're allowed to hit them.
The author, Dr. Bancroft, Counselled abusive men and said that only something like sub 5% of them ever change because abusive men will almost never change their thinking patterns and accept that they don't deserve to be served and catered to because why would they? They have the perfect relationship. They have all this power and it's handed to them on top of the pleasure they get from harming another. Why change that? They don't feel real guilt or remorse over what happens, or at least not more than outweighs what they gain from abusing their partner.
Here's a paraphrase of a part of the book:
In one of her sessions, the abuser explains that he threw his partner in the floor because he was angry and lost control. The author asks him, "Why didn't you kick once she was on the floor? Her head was right there by your feet. Why didn't you kick her in the head?" The guy says "I'd never do that! She's my wife! I don't want to hurt her like that, I could kill her!"
"If you could stop yourself from hurting her 'too much, ' then you didn't *really* lose control, did you?"
I have serious side eye for people like they respect John Lennon for admitting to the abuse and speaking out about it. Well, sure, that probably positions him as someone who is genuinely sorry and he gets support and sympathy for his struggle. Meanwhile he continued to abuse women.

MAMMA MIA AU BUT MCLENNON !!!!! throws shit against the walls this took me literally all fucking day and I hated doing the fuck ass backgrounds oh lawrd I just slapped shapes together and hoped it looked good but i blurred the bg anyways fuck my stupid chungus life. this upcoming year I hope to challenge myself a little bit more with backgrounds as well, even though I fucking hate doing them but for the sake of mclennon i will . n e wayz enjoy sunkissed skin sea salt hair paulie bats eyelashes this is them meeting for the first time in years hrveheheheh
