Zombies are having a resurgence in discussion at the moment...
So we thought we'd share a few of our favorite songs by or about zombies...
How about you? List some of your favorite Zombie music in the comments down below!!
Ooooh... Spider Web...
Part 4 of 20 featuring:Something like musicLayers upon layers of decay and distortion8mm, 16mm, 35mm, VHS, Hi-8 and DV tapeChromatic aberrat
HAXAN came up in discussion again, so we thought we'd be a bit opportunistic... The original version of the song first appeared on our second album, THIS... Dig it!!
Speaking of liminal hymnals...
Wouldn't some hot, buttered popcorn hit the spot right now?
Something About This World Is False from Spindlebone's Video Decay: An Experience Which Will Seem Completely Real. The original version of the song appeared on our 3rd album, Something About The World Is False
The video utilizes clips from our own haunted home movie collection. The adorable child circling on the carnival rides doesn't yet understand that she'll be going in circles until the end of her days.
As will we all.
Frog's Breath from Spindlebone's Video Decay: An Experience Which Will Seem Completely Real. The original version of the song (Toe Of Frog) appeared on our 1st album, Beats In The Witch House
The video utilizes degraded footage from educational films on the life cycle of frogs, as well as pieces of La Grenouille (The Frog), a 1908 silent short film directed by Spanish filmmaker Segundo de Chomón, known for its pioneering hand-colored cels, stop-motion effects, and surreal scenes, heavily influenced by Georges Méliès. We're told the overall effect of the pairing is rather unsettling.
Were you familiar with La Grenouille before you saw this video?
YES!! I love old, silent, experimental films!! Especially put to new music!
Yeah, I think... didn't this inspire Lady Gaga to do something or something?
NO!! Thanks, Spindlebone! The more you know, y'know!?
Nope and I didn't watch the video so... raspberries to you, you old witch!
SeXXXploitation! from Spindlebone's Video Decay: An Experience Which Will Seem Completely Real. The song originally appeared on our 4th album, The Haunted Drive-In
This one's for all our monster fucker fans out there!
Can you take it? Do you want more?
Do you recognize any of the clips we used?
Let us know in the comments!!
Round about the cauldron go...
Yantry and Jangle hard at werk, spinning for Spider Basket...
The sounds woven together thus far bring to mind a cozy, firelit, bird-legged, ramshackle cabin, surrounded by a witches sabbath in a graveyard in space on a Saturday night. Good thing there's a motley looking, backwater monster electro-jug band pushing broom, banging nganga, and just a hollerin inside!
Spider Basket gonna be a real swamp shack rattler, I gar-on-tee!!
The Unknown Awaits You...
We're headed to the video store! I can already smell the tobacco smoke, the dank carpet, the plywood, the poster paper... the VHS plastic!
We each get to rent one. What are you bringing to the party?
