This is so therapeutic.
Kyungsoo, Kyuhyun and Hui are my top 3 favourite kpop male vocalists.
But June's voice is also a whole different kind of love.
I've only watched 30 mins of it but.. doesn't Moon Sehoon give off a DK (iKon) vibe?
This is so good!
I can't stop watching this! Hilarious!
What an excellent production!
This too! 《达拉崩吧》

And omg this 《战》

And not forgetting 《花祭》

I guess the common factor to all these gems is Zhang Qi. And then there's the Zhang Qi/Huang Guan Zhong/James combi, followed by the Zhang Qi/Huang Guan Zhong/James/Ouyang Jin combi 😍
Anyone here watches chinese variety programmes without subtitles but thinks, comments and writes everything in English 😂? I love almost every part of this performance. Kudos to James' english portion, which also moved me greatly and was one of the highlights of this stage.
Not my favourite song, but the chorus has just been playing in my head non-stop for the past many days. I especially enjoy this video watching how relaxed the rappers were, how into the song BI was. Feeling like a proud mother everytime June sings. And of course, DK.
Years ago, when Ikon released Apology and Dumb and Dumber, I recall having a good impression of Jinhwan, but not being able to appreciate June's husky voice then. Ikon didn't capture much of my attention so I did not know who the other members were.
The awareness of Ikon only resurfaced thanks to Yang Hongseok <3
And then there was Kingdom.
Once again, my not-so-good initial impressions of certain idols were overturned, albeit it taking some time for it to happen.
June converted me with his performance in Spark.
Though the largest conversion came from DK.
I never knew of his existence until Kingdom, and when I first saw him, erm his style (possibly thus affecting his visuals) didn't appeal to me.
However, Ikon's performances caught my attention more than many other groups that had participated in Kingdom. And through that, I came to learn how DK played a large role in their stages.
Like many others, I got impressed when the main dancer represented the group in the finale's combined performance (but maybe not the colour of the hair 😂).
I only got to know DK more after Kingdom actually, and then I realised that he actually looks good with shorter hair.
These are some of my favourite hairstyles, with the second picture showing his lovely smile as well. Yes, so I also came to really like his smile.
I also found out how versatile he was, and his personality appealed to me too. I like that even though he's not one of the more popular members, he's still very real, candid and good-hearted. So charming!
DK's becoming my Hongseok of Ikon 😊
Spotify told me this.
I haven't been listening much to songs by iKON. Recently I came across Goodbye Road and Flower. At this point in time, these songs reflect the 'I am so done with certain people, so tired, yet I feel like rebelling in my own way' kind of feeling that I'm experiencing at the moment.
Though internally I support Team Mayfly more, I must say this was one of my favourite performances of that day. Several impressions were changed, with the greatest coming from Junhoe. I recalled listening to Dumb and Dumber and Apology years back and not really liking his more hoarse kind of voice. But I really really enjoyed his voice in this performance, how relaxed he looked and how much he was enjoying the music and stage. Sangyeon also impressed me with his strong vocals, followed by New's smooth performance. It feels like they have not had much opportunity to showcase their voices when past performances in Kingdom and Road to Kingdom were more visual-focused. Surprisingly too, most of the performances I enjoyed were largely by iKON. Surprisingly because they were usually not my kind of style. Surprisingly too because my perception seems to differ from the voters/experts lol.
I know BTOB never disappoints.
I haven't been following Kingdom but I've watched a few performances here and there and, I'm honestly tired of the idea implied that a good performance requires grand stages, stunts (stunts and more stunts), dramatic effects and skin.
It's not about the groups but more of the concept of the programme. The groups there might have the intent to prove their worth but the platform just doesn't seem right for me. Instead of watching in awe, I started going "here's another tactic" and "there goes another stunt". Like Sangyeon (The Boyz) had said, do they need to become a circus?
Also randomly clicked on this and I have replayed it countless times. Better archive it too!
Made a mistake of not intentionally remembering a song by Day6 which I quite liked, and now I can't find it back.
Henceforth, I shall make it an effort to post here videos of songs I find it worth listening to, for archiving and retrieving purposes.
It's been a while!
Happy birthday Bang Yongguk!
I feel proud being a Universe.
And precisely so because the road has not been easy, for both Pentagon and Unis.
Unis keep working hard, and do so respectfully. I've seen that a lot of times, when a supporter of other artists comments on their support to Pentagon videos, the comment would receive a warm 'thank you' or 'welcome' kind of response. Rather than leverage on the support of larger fandoms such as through comments like, 'can you ask your fandom to view the videos too' etc, Unis go through the harder way of seeking voluntary support of others. I think that's really respectable.
And I think that can be why Pentagon treasures Universe so much more. Just take that-not-so-good-thing-that-happened-recently as an example. Look at how Pentagon responded 👍 (I loved Kino's post about PINKTAGON)
It does frustrate me that this, and the responses by others, might ruin the largest chance Pentagon has of getting their next win for this comeback. But winning on music shows is not everything. No matter the result, we have won in forging a closer Pentagon-Universe relationship while maintaining our values and morals.
Proud to be a Universe. I Universe Pentagon.
