Legend tells us that in the dark ages, people carried grubby slips of paper and discs of patinated metal. Apparently these could be exchanged for goods and services ā sometimes those shared between a large group, like a meal, or a taxi. On such occasions, the group spent 20 minutes after an enjoyable event creating the eveningās unenjoyable take-home memory: everyone snatching at piles of coins and notes and quibbling over who had a second glass of wine, or insisting that since theyāre getting out they wonāt owe more than a fiver towards the whole journey (āsee you soon!ā).
āSplitcab (splitcab.co.uk) is a new app that helps Londoners share minicab fares: book a private car and pick up other users on route.ā
