The Old Guard (2020) // The Old Guard 2 (2025)
Not that him leaving would make the character assassination ok in my eyes but if Eddie’s actually staying then like whaaaaaat the fuck are they doing with him. Like dear god
imo, it's much more interesting if robby never reports langdon for stealing the meds and people only know about langdon going to rehab at the beginning of s2 for a variety of reasons:
we get to continue s1's exploration of robby protecting troubled men, even when those choices might be ill-advised or could cause harm to others
it adds some additional strain to the dynamics between santos, langdon, and robby that would be fun to play with
there could be characters who have no issue with langdon's addiction but are very bothered by him stealing medication from patients (or, at the very least, langdon might believe they would hate him for that). most of the characters not knowing about the stealing could create some additional guilt for langdon and introduce more tension into those relationships
the general audience would be soooooo mad about it and that would be funny
idk, it just sounds like a good time to me!

Patrick Ball as Dr. Frank Langdon The Pitt, S01E09 - 3:00 P.M.
being extremely okay, encouraging even, with eddie being away for so long and simply dismissing the fact that he should have been a necessary part of this whole storyline just doesn't sit right with me, especially because i know where it's coming from and from who. eddie diaz is a main character whether or not you like ryan guzman or the character himself. tim wrote the show into a fucking corner *regarding eddie* by giving him the stupid fuck ass storyline way back in s7. that's it. most of the anger, disappointment, and frustration coming from eddie fans stems FROM THAT. there was no need for it. there was no need to keep him away. there was no need to continue to keep him away until it was time for his one manly tear. there was no need to SPEAK ON HIS STORYLINE HAPPENING "OFF-SCREEN." i don't give a single fuck about off-screen scenarios. show the audience the scenarios you're supposedly coming up with or get a better writer who can blend the storylines together correctly again.
Bucky, trying to be a politician and realizing how inefficient it is at stopping bad guys quickly: Welp. I can't debate, diplomat, or deposition my way out of this one.
Bucky, loading his explosive disc launcher: Detonate it is.
