I’m proud to identify as morosexual. I’m attracted to dumbasses and dumbasses exclusively. A guy asked me what the Spanish word for tortilla was once and now I dream of kissing him under the moonlight
this same idiot: what kind of animal is the pink panther
me, already taking off my clothes: benjamin you’re so fucking stupid
oh my god the original out in the wild
welcome to my epic fantasy world. we have many developed fantasy kingdoms with 2000 years of rich lore and history. and to the south you can see the evil sand people and to the east theres japanchina.
"Scam" you mean people are fighting back against housing discrimination??? I don't think these people know what the word scam means
Scams are designed to trick someone into giving up money based on lies. This is just.. asking for information then legally enforcing the law??
Fuck landlords
its probably a normal sign for the economy that all of my adulthood fantasies are like "imagine having your own kitchen living room and bathroom to decorate" "what if i could get on a train" "maybe one day i could purchase a sturdy pair of shoes" "i should save and invest in a single bicycle"
I think one of the funniest abortion stances I've heard was from my parents neighbor. He's a like, hard-core libertarian viking larper guy who is very tall and very fat and very bald.
He believes a fetus is human with a soul, but also its "basically attacking the woman's body" so if she wants to get rid of it, that's "basically self-defense". He compared it to shooting a home invader. So he supports abortion not as healthcare, but as killing a baby in self-defense
Y'know I'm so glad someone reminded me of this. Because this was also discussed.
My stepmother did NOT like the way her Libertarian Viking Neighbor framed pregnancy as the fetus "attacking the woman". She incredulously told him this was extremely disrespectful to expectant mothers to portray pregnancy as so violent and negative.
Libertarian Viking Neighbor's response was that people consensually hurt each other all the time, and "there's like a whole community about that, with the acronym the one that starts with a B" And his reasoning was that if the mother was consenting to bring attacked by the baby, it in fact wasn't violent and negative because there was consent.
He brought up people consensually hurting each other, didn't go for one of the obvious answers like boxing or body mods or something, no he went STRAIGHT TO BDSM and he DIDN'T EVEN REMEMBER THE ACRONYM
“bits to use in everyday conversations”
“but if i communicate it perfectly then they will understand me” WRONG 10,000 years of suffering
And in these next 50 years you will eat so many delicious meals, laugh so many times with so many people you love, shout and scream and sing and cry and smile so hard your face hurts. And you will see such beautiful sunsets and feel fresh cold air on your face and feel warm and safe wrapped up in your favourite winter coat.
I wrap this blessing around you like a shroud, so that no ill can find you, and every warmth is held close

Euripides - Original (408 BCE)
[ID: several translations of a conversation between Pylades and Orestes in Euripides’ play “Orestes”. They read as follows:
I’ll take care of you. It’s rotten work. Not to me. Not if it’s you.
Nay, thy weakness I will tend. Loathly task to touch the sick! Ah, not to me for thee, O friend.
I’ll look after you if that happens. It would be horrible for you, my friend. No, not for me it won’t be.
But I’ll take care of you. It’s unpleasant looking after someone sick. Not to me. Not when I’m looking after you.
But I will take care of you. It is annoying to have to touch a sick man. Not to me, when it is you.
But I will take care of thee. It is a difficult and dangerous task to touch a man thus disordered. Not for me to touch thee.
But I’ll be right beside you. It’s difficult, touching a sick man. Not for me, with you.
My care shall watch around thee. To attend a man thus disordered, to guard, to hold him, is an unpleasing office. But for thee delightful to my love.
But I’ll be looking after you. It’s unpleasant to be in contact with a sick man. Not with you, for me.
Have no fear. You are in my hands. Madmen are hard to handle. I will manage.
Then I’ll look after you. When my sickness comes, to touch me is revolting. Not to me.
On my fostering care rely. Loathsome it is to handle the diseas’d. Not so to me, while you I tend.
I’ll see to you. It’s horrible. I’ll do it.
Well, I will take care of you. It is disgusting to touch a sick man. Not for me to touch you.
I’ll look after you. Getting close during an attack can be dangerous. Not for me, when it’s you.

my problem is if i enjoy something enough i will be nitpicking. i Will have things to say about where and how it failed. out of nothing but love straight from my heart. unfortunately this often makes me indistinguishable from a hater who has never experienced joy or kindness. such is the amateur critic's burden.
all of my favourite things are like beautiful racehorses that trip over their own feet a hundred times. but they get back up again. and goddamn, you should see them run.
Kinda wild how the concept of emotional labour changed from
"people have to hide their emotions to perform specific types of labour where their apparent emotions influence another person's. Eg. Flight attendants have to be cheerful all the time, so that passengers feel welcome and safe. This suppression and masking of emotion can cause a sense of disconnect within the individual where they dont know what their true feelings are. This is part of the Marxist idea of alienation from labour and from the self."
To
"If you ask me to care about you or listen to your problems, youre being toxic."
Analyzing the politics of a work that's meant to be apolitical is actually a really interesting exercise because it asks you to critically examine what the creator considers to be "political" in the first place. Which ideas are just How Things Are, and which ones are Political, and how is that influenced by the creator's beliefs?
Usually this just ends up with you looking like a moron btw
Angrily lashing out at the suggestion that it's possible to do basic media analysis was foundational to the ragebait ecosystem of the 2010s, from which we got basically the entire culture of modern far right politics, btw.
I genuinely believe myself and others are being so sincere and literal when we say TOUCH GRASS
I went outside and got an education, that's where I learned that you can obtain knowledge and insight through analytical methods, then noticed that some people who sit on the internet yelling at strangers get really mad about that constantly.
Don’t make me point to the Omar Sakar poem
