Fox Mulder + Rolled-Up Sleeves  [2/2]

Mulder nodded and looked down. He felt tears sting in his eyes as he reran those words through his head. I’m going to take you home. Not ‘my home’ or ‘your home’ but ‘home’. He had a home and a family apparently. Just a few hours ago he was just Mickey, lost and confused. Now he had someone. “W-When can we go home?” He looked up at her, his eyes glistening with unshed tears.

Scully noticed the tears in his eyes, and looked up to the ceilings to keep her emotions in check. “I’ll see what I can do.” From the corner of her eye she saw the doctor coming in and instantly laid her head on his chest. “I’m so happy you remember!” She squeezed his unseen hand for him to play along. This was his ticket out.

Mulder frowned a little. He didn’t know if he wanted to lie to Doctor Owens. The man had helped him so much. But he wanted to go home so bad. He looked up at the doctor and nodded. “I-I remember.” He said softly. Doctor Owens didn’t look convinced but he nodded.

“Well get the discharge papers. I’m gonna send home some medications for him.” He said. “Pain medication if he has an episode but we’re also gonna put him on a medication for seizures even though that’s not exactly what he has.” Doctor Owens sighed. “I’ll set you guy up with follow up appoints with neurology and psych, alright?”

Mulder followed her in. Thankfully the sink would work with the bath. He got it in and filled it up with warm but not hot water. “Make sure that water is a good temp.” Mulder told her and he looked over at Will. “Hey, buddy. We’re gonna give you your first ever bath. Excited?”

Scully dipped her hand in the water to make sure, but she completely trusted Mulder’s judgment. “Just fine,” She cooed down at William. “Will, I think your daddy is very anxious about getting to do something.” She laughed and stepped to the side so he could step in.

“Of course I’m anxious,” Mulder said with a grin. He stepped up to the sink with a huge smile on his face. He helped Scully put Will in the water and the little guy made a soft whine. “Oh its okay, babe.”

“Oh c’mon!” He laughed. “It’s just stubble. You’ll live. And I didn’t hear you complaining…in the laundry room.” He teased and kissed her neck.

“Fine.” She fake pouted before kissing him back. “I don’t mind stubble, but no more long fluffy ones, okay?”

“Fine. No more long fluffy ones. Fine.” He chuckled and cuddled her up in his arms. “Thanks for saying yes, by the way.”
