Physical Affection or not(Jercy)
Jason loved when people gave him head pats or some kind of affection when he did good. Being raised by wolves took a big toll on him. So now whenever he did something good he had big eyes that no one could resist. Jason loved affection so much nothing would change that.
So when he started dating Percy Jackson he always asked for some kind of affection. Percy always complied because why would he ignore his beautiful wolf influenced boyfriend. So whenever Jason wanted cuddles, Percy would always gave it to him, he loved seeing Jason's cute face scrunch up in cute delight. Or when Jason asked for head pats Percy would give a few pats then his hand would wander down to pinch Jason's cheeks.
Percy was not a fan of physical affection, he usually did it for Jason but when it came to him he did not like the idea of being smothered. The reason why was because it made him feel to tight like he was being given to much and there wasn't space for peace and gentle hands.
A/N: Now that you know background let's get in the actual story :)
Jason had just finished cooking dinner and he looked at Percy like he usually did to get his reward. But Percy seemed off this time, he was not his usual happy self that had sparkling eyes that was full of love. This time Percy's eyes were dimmed and Jason did not like that, he wanted his partner to be happy not all gloomy.
Jason simply assumed that Percy wasn't getting enough love, that he was running low in affection. Jason obviously did not know Percy's dislike for physical affection, if he did he wouldn't have done it.
So Jason did what he knew best, he brought Percy to his arms and cradled him but suddenly Percy pushed his arms away. Jason looked at him confused, did Percy not like his affection?
"I'm sorry, Jace, I-I just want to be alone." Percy explained with a shaky voice as he got up and headed to their shared room.
Jason watched as Percy walked away and gently closed the door with a soft click. Jason frowned, his heart breaking, did he do something wrong?
Jason tried to eat but the food tasted like ash in his mouth and soon it made him sick. So he threw away the food, feeling a little guilty for wasting food like that when so many don't have the luxury to have food everyday. But the guilt went away as the burden of thinking he did something wrong outweighed everything.
He sat on the couch thinking of every interaction they had this whole month. Trying to find an explanation of what made Percy this gloomy. Jason's anxiety was going up and his medication for it had just ran out last week, he'd meant to get more but this week has been so busy.
Jason's thoughts started to wander to the worst of it which was:
What if he did something to offend Percy?
What if Percy didn't like him anymore?
What if he had done something wrong and now Percy didn't want him anymore?
He started to spiral until it got to the point that he though that everything was his fault and now Percy didn't like him and he will abandoned him like everyone in his life has.
His spiral led to tiny tears escaping the corners of his eyes. Why was he crying? It's not like he was the one who was all gloomy like Percy, he didn't deserve to cry. Jason wiped the tears off his face and he decided to go and confront his boyfriend.
Jason was now standing in front of the closed door his hand suspended in the air thinking if this was the right thing to do.
Percy was having a bad day like every other normal person would have. It started with training the new campers, he had accidentally tripped and fell he made an embarrassment of himself. Then he spilled juice on someone's shirt and—you get the point. So it wasn't the best time of his life.
He hadn't meant to sort of snap at Jason but the cradling in Jason's arms was his breaking point. It felt like a cage that he was suffocating in, that was the reason he pushed Jason away. Right now he was looking at the ceiling deep in thought. His horrible day replaying in his head like a dark cloud that wouldn't leave you alone.
Percy tried hard to think about good moments with Jason, that always made him happy. His boyfriend, his cute, sweet, boyfriend. Jason was the best thing that happen in his life. His constant love for affection, the love of being close to him. It was all so cute and he loved every second of it even though he didn't enjoy the affection as much. But seeing Jason so delighted made his heart clench for his beautiful boyfriend.
Percy slowly started to feel better but not enough to actually stand up. He felt tired and weighted down onto the bed. Like about 30 minutes passed when he noticed a shadow looming under the door. Percy knew it was Jason, well because who else would it be? It's not like they were living with someone else. He waited for his boyfriend to open the door but it never opened.
Suddenly, the shawdow that was looming left, that left Percy puzzled. Jason knew that he could come in, right? Percy stood up and open the door gently. Percy walked to the living room, wondering why Jason had retreated.
He got to the the living room and there was Jason sitting on the couch staring at the wall blankly like he was deep in thought. But what worried Percy was that Jason's chest was falling up and down rapidly, like he was hyperventaling.
Jason seem to still not have noticed Percy's presence. Percy took that to his advantage and went to look in the cabinets of their restroom for Jason's anxiety meds. He found the bottle but it was empty, wait, Jason told him he had bought some 3 days ago. What a dirty liar he was, Percy knew for a fact he said that because he didn't want Percy to worry about getting him his meds. That explains why Jason had been overstimulated this whole week.
Percy sighed and went back to the living room where Jason was still in the same position as before. He sat down next to him and gently shook Jason's shoulder gently. Jason jolted out of his trance and looked towards Percy with panicked eyes. Jason calmed down when he noticed it was Percy.
"Hey, Jason, are you okay?" Percy asked, concern etched on his features.
Jason decided not to knock, he was pathetic for not gathering the courage but really what could he have done? Jason walked again to the living room and sat down. Soon his thoughts envelope him.
He was took out of that trance when someone shook his shoulder. At first, panic had took over him and he looked at the person next to him. He couldn't process it until the person spoke, oh, it was just Percy. But the question caught him of gaurd.
Jason genuinely didn't know really all he could've think of was how he was the reason for Percy's gloomy day. He just didn't know what he did but he was certain that it was his fault.
Jason looked at Percy with a tilt of his head, wasn't Percy angry at him? Jason shook his head internally and decided there was nothing better than to apologize.
"I'm sorry, Percy." Jason said, looking at the space above Percy's head.
When he dared to look at Percy, he seemed puzzled like he didn't understand why Jason was apologizing.
"Why are you sorry? You did nothing wrong." Percy pointed out, really puzzled on why Jason apologized, he didn't do anything wrong.
Then it was Jason's turn to return that confusion. Jason tilted his head to the side looking at Percy in the eyes.
