The Final Countdown: The Last Week
Here we are, book fiends and friends. We’ve shed some tears, had some laughs, did some live streams, and sweated nervously as we refreshed our campaign pages over and over again (Oh? Just me. Well, alrighty then).
Yes, dear friends, we are nearing the end of The Book Bazaar.
But despair not! There is one final week to get your pledges in and to share the projects with others.
On the first day, many projects reached funding quite quickly, six (maybe eight? I have a bad memory, to be honest) of them if I remember correctly. At the close of the second week, sixteen out of the twenty-two were fully funded, with a couple more getting awfully close to reaching that initial funding goal.
However, we are still ticking away! There are projects that still need to reach their funding goals and plenty of funded projects that have stretch goals to meet.
Here are some of our unfunded projects, if you’re curious:
Blood Ties is an audio book campaign of three Covenant of Blood Shorts by J.S. Living. It has several eye-opening reveals about the characters in the series, but can be read as a standalone. There are some support tiers that have art and ebooks if you wish to support the project, but aren’t interested in audio books. The Covenant of Blood series falls into urban fantasy and historical fiction, and if you like vampires, this is one series you don’t want to miss!
The Primal Rift is the continuation of The Chaos Portal series by Paul Vanhoutteghem. The first two books in the series are called The Chaos Portal and The Shadow Brand. The characters in the series get through the chaos of their adventures via the strength of their friendship and more. Dungeons and Dragons fans are sure to love this one!
GULA is an epic poem about Carrion City, where the discarded and forgotten go, by Elliot Dunstan. The epic poem is atypical in that it doesn’t follow one person. It is, instead a sweeping look at the world Carrion City occupies — one that is a dark mirror to our own. While this isn’t a horror focused project, it sounds horrifying in the most intriguing of ways. A must for all poetry fans!
Gems and Star Flowers is an audio book campaign for a sci-fi queer romance by Amara Lynn and Primrose Song. If the audio book doesn’t interest you, but you still wish to support the campaign, you can always get the e-book only tier. This story follows two people who find each other as they explore outer space. Plenty of flowers and cozy vibes inside!
Fairy Seasons is an anthology that explores the fickle nature of the Fae by Machelle Berglund. There is whimsy and wonder mixed with horror. Basically, several stories are about fairy-ing around and finding out. A good chunk of the stories feature queer characters and plenty of humor. If you’re a poetry fan, there’s some of that in the anthology, as well.
Space Wizard Science Fantasy: Year 4 Part 2 is a campaign for not one, not two, heck! not even three books. Nay, nay. It’s for seven of them! Space Wizard Science Fantasy is an indie publishing company that focuses on queer science fiction and fantasy. They are so close to being fully funded. Let’s send them to the stars, shall we?
There are, of course, several other projects that are funded that I fully recommend checking out. We’ve got dragons, plucky robots, man-eating malls (which, in my mind, is normal mall behavior), questionable potions, bees and so much more.
If no monetary support is possible, sharing our cause and our projects helps a great deal. Your help will help us reach others. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to help an indie author’s art come alive! Act now! Or, before December 3rd’s end time of 1PM (PST), at the very least!
By the way, no AI was used in the crafting of these projects, campaigns, writing, art, etc. The Book Bazaar is 100% human made. In fact, AI is not allowed at all when it comes to the Book Bazaar. In these times, as AI generated content and AI slop attempts to dominate several internet and art spaces, it’s up to us, — up to people like you — to fight back.
And the best way to fight back is to support real, human artists and writers.
Don’t let the slop monsters win. Fight back. Support real art.
And, if you have time, consider The Book Bazaar!
