C: Printed and painted this cute Gnome on a tree swing for a present.
Model courtesy of DiMarzio
C: Sanding and cleanup and the first coats of paint.
C: Decided to use acrylic paints for the statue because I like how thickly they cover, unfortunately they don’t always cover nicely. To fix this I wanted to try a primer and decided to experiment with gesso.
Top: First coat, the left was primed with gesso and the right has no primer.
Bottom: Second coat.
Seems the Gesso helps a lot with getting an even coat on the prints.
C: Some prototypes of the Nintendo cartridge key chains. Paint and labels courtesy of spacepirateeyepatch.
Still working on getting the models and their size right. Also need to figure out the best way to seal those paper labels down.
C: Finally got around to printing out all the pieces. Not sure how I am going to do the water and sewer sludge yet, but it’s really coming along.
This is a 3d print of this model I did a while ago.
C: What a great idea to print a gift card holder for a holiday present!
Thingiverse model courtesy of ADVANCED3DCREATIONS Visit our Thingiverse page for printing details.
C: Those days where your rafts won’t come off and 5 hour prints fail halfway through..
C: Some quick key chains/ornaments for the annual Clang Addicts Holiday Party.
C: Sorry for the long break in posting. I recently upgraded my computer and well, problems ensued. Anyways here are some charms I modeled up.
Any Gravity Falls fans still out there?
C: Decided to try something a little old school. It’s going to be a lot of pieces, but it should hopefully be not too hard to 3d print.
Anyone else remember this game?
C: Asked NextGenImaging if I could practice painting on one of the prints that didn’t come out so well. Decided to make it look battle damaged to cover some of the mistakes. Maybe next time I’ll watch a tutorial or something.
C: Nintendo 3d prints came out pretty nice. Already thinking of the ways to improve them.
C: Great paint job by Spacepirateeyepatch to the Alliance and Horde WoW charms.
C: Spent the day at NYC MakerFaire 2016! Had a great time and saw a ton of amazing things! K: May or may not have been shopping around for another 3D printer to add to our collection.
C: Finally got around to uploading these pictures of Ace’s Dagger. Broke it down into 8 separate pieces so it would fit on smaller print beds, and wouldn’t need many supports. The tan blocks in the second picture are connection pieces to make aligning and gluing everything a lot easier. A big thank you again to Next Gen Imaging for helping to print this piece.
from the print you showed us it might be moist filament
Moist filament? I never thought of that, I do tend to keep the window open near the printer. Might have to look into making sure my spools are better protected.I wound up cleaning off the feeding gears inside the casing, and for the most part that seemed to have fixed it. That or my filament got better if it was moist. Unfortunately now my calibrations are all messed up and re-calibrating and resetting doesn’t seem to be fixing it. If it’s not one thing, it’s another. Just going to have to keep on tinkering with it.Thanks for the suggestion! I think I might start looking into getting some containers and keeping all my spools in them.
