“A Hairy Predicament”

I must’ve changed the title of this squiggle at least four times. Finally decided that the best title for anything should always be a pun.

It’s the K-SQUAD ft. Feryon in the hizz house ya’ll! For those of you who aren’t familiar with her, Feryon is what I presume the main heroine of another one of Zagtoon’s up and coming animated series entitled ‘Tales of Feryon’.

It is created and designed by Nathanaël Bronn, the art director of Miraculous Tales of Ladybug and Chat Noir. Judging by her hair, I’m going to assume that Feryon’s character and powers will be inspired by the classical fairytale character, Rapunzel.

Not much more is known about her or her show other than that. There isn’t even much character art or fanart of her either that I could’ve used as reference. So if I got some of the details in her costume wrong, cut me some slack. Unlike Pixie Girl, I didn’t have much to work with for Feryon so I did my best. But like many other Zag titles, this squiggle meister is definitely looking forward to this series when it comes out. Who wouldn’t love a series about classical fairytale characters turned into superheroes? Aah giving me dem Rise of the Guardians type of feels all over again. Thank you to my lovely star kids over on Twitter for helping me decide the special guest character for this Miraculous K-Squad art. I like doing crossovers with the kwamis and other characters so this time around I decided to feature them alongside a character from another one of Zag’s titles (not the obvious Pixiegirl since I drew her already). I asked folks to choose between Feryon and Zak Storm and ya’ll picked Feryon. Will probably squiggle paint Zak another time one of these days and check out his series. It looked interesting.

With this piece marking my 23rd K-SQUAD art, I’m only three squiggles away from completing my first session of Miraculous Kwamis. Looking forward to wrapping things up this month. Until then, I hope everyone enjoys this week’s newest squiggle. Hope you get a nice laugh out of it.

Poor Plagg! Let’s just say…that’s the last time he makes any cheesy wise cracks at Trixx and her long fluffy tail especially in front of Feryon XD

Seeing people as transparent and them becoming transparent through rejection

I know this may seem completely obvious to some people, but for me it wasn't obvious until just recently when a girl I knew at school got rejected by everyone because no one wanted her in their cabin for our school camp.

May I point out she had already been bullied her entire life because she was fat, and had less than adequate social skills as a consequence, which in turn left her with no friends. I tried to talk to her about it but she didn’t want to, because my group had also told her that our cabin was full and she couldn’t come with us. I tried again later and she eventually told me, crying, angry and full of despair, that she saw it coming. Frankly, so did I. This had happened not just this year, but every year since the beginning of high school for her. I haven’t yet told her that I understood the pain of being rejected. For two years in primary school I was bullied and abandoned by my own friends, before leaving to go the school I am at now.

Through this girls experience and my own, I came to realise something very important. When me and this girl were both bullied and abandoned by our classmates, we began to see people differently. We both began seeing them transparently, as if we knew what, when, where, why and how they were going to treat us. We began to see people in a new, cold and bitter light, and seemed to to see only the worst in them. Likewise, the rumours and stories had heard about this girl reflected this transparency, as if she was so predictable, so lame and you could practically see right through her.

This is what happens to people when you treat them badly. They become like glass. And one day, when pushed over the edge, they will shatter.
