Analysis of the masterpiece
In my opinion the entire photoshoot portrays how they fell in love and the various events that led to it. Act 1 is basically the first time they felt "love" and thus probably the choice of the bright and blazing colors.
This picture can be completely justified by a quote from the article
“I am a very paranoid person now because of it. I watch people watching me. I look at their faces to see if they’re looking at me, if they know who I am."
In this picture, Cole and Lili skillfully illustrate the concept of paranoia and cynicism in one's self that one faces as a celebrity. While Lili anxiously searches for something nonexistent, Cole faces similar problems and pressure. However him looking away from the screen signifies the lesson he has learnt from the experience he has had over the years.
He tries to convince her that people are going to say whatever they want. It is their happiness that matters the most.
The narrative is further carried out where Lili being unaware of the distressing experience that accompanies fame.
As Lili falters, Cole is there to hold her. Seemingly simple posture conveying a deep message. An act of love that helps in the blossoming of this beautiful relationship. However one can note that Lili is capable of standing up for herself and she is not completely in the arms of Cole. Her feet is firmly on the ground. He's there as a support, a pillar.
While the world around them implodes insinuating their burst of emotions. Bright colors potray the perfect sentiment one feels when "in love".
