I've honestly fallen in love with your Bad Batch headcanons and have been dying to ask one. How do you think each of the Bad Batch would be at playing horror games (assuming they play them) and especially how they'd react to jump scares? (Sorry if you've already done this one and I've missed it!)
Okay this is honestly the best ask I've ever gotten. I've never considered them playing video games until now. (I'm sorry for the late reply Animal Crossing is a thing)
Ngl I kinda wanna write this as a fic now 😬
He is the best video gamer out of them, he loves horror games. Tech is naturally good at these games, he discovers all the secrets and easter eggs. When his brothers can't beat a boss or get stuck they give Tech the controller and he figures it like that. He likes the rush of adrenaline when there's a jump scare. But he got good at being able to 'sense' when something was going to happen, he doesn't find as much joy in playing horror games that much anymore. He usually sits back. He does, however, find joy in listening to his brothers jump and scream like children.
He's honestly kind of bad at horror games. He's quick to jump and attack, too alert, as Tech puts it. He can play normal games and kick ass. But horror games... The jump scares send him into a moment of shock, usually resulting in Wrecker or Tech stealing the controller to keep them alive. He also is the one to scream, not Wrecker. Which is what scares his brothers. Hunter is the first to play in game, similar to an actual mission. But then it really goes down hill cause Hunter puts too much thought into every detail and noise.
He hates them, absolutely cannot stand them. Crosshair's skin starts to crawl and he becomes very uncomfortable while his brothers are playing. If he wants to play, it's never for long because his hands start to shake, and that makes him angry. Even in video games, he's their best shot, so when they need him to kill someone from afar, they make him. Besides that, he'll sit with them but end up falling asleep. Most jumpscares don't wake him up unless his brothers scream. When they do, he snaps awake and his hand goes to where his gun usually is. But then he remembers where he is and bitterly goes back to sleep. If he's not sleeping, he gets the snacks and drinks. But if they try to boss him around, he will not move.
Wrecker gets mad at horror games. They don't scare him, but the feeling he gets when there's a jump scare doesn't sit well with him. He'll probably exclaim following the jump scare, which is more frightful than the actual game. Wrecker really loves video games, he gives Tech a run for his money. But when he gets stuck, he'll get reckless and destroy everything, sometimes getting himself killed in the process. Wrecker is the one that chooses all the horror games, Tech gives him the best choices and he goes from there. They don't know why they let Wrecker choose for them, but they're glad they did. Their games keep them distracted for hours.
