One thing that I like about sxf is that despite being a shonen (with not a teenager protagonist), Endo makes Twilight hot and very capable, but at the same time, make it hard for fans to give him harem.
Like, Endo does create lots of awesome women, but it is clear that Twilight has no (romantic) interest at them at all.
Karen?
Twilight didn't even bat an eye. Dumped her just like that
Nightfall?
Twilight clearly never see her more than colleague and mentee. He even despise the idea of their cover story as married couple
How about older woman? Handler??
Twilight clearly afraid respects her as older sister boss and mentor. And that's that.
The City Hall women who swoon at him?
Twilight imagine them as evil and despicable.
The only woman who can make him making lots of expressions, such as:
Devastated and confused
Flustered
Melancholic
Proud
Lovestruck Skipping a heartbeat
And truly smile
Is just Yor.
Love it 🥰
ANIME-ONLY TWIYOR FANS JUST SO YOU KNOW
Loid blushes for Yor more in the manga <3
Have a nice day
Just sharing one of my favorite scene in the trailer.
And the way the ending songs plays in this scene is chef kiss. This really give off K-Drama vibes.🥰🤭 Really looking forward for the "Date".
This is us
In all the twiyor arcs we've had so far - ok, only two, but they are very twiyor - the complications and misunderstanding that threaten to derail their marriage are resolved by both Twilight and Yor telling the truth...
... truths which probably neither of them even know are their truths.
At the end of the 'Yuri is a weird little dude but also I now suspect my wife and will put a listening device on her and tail her a whole day because it would be so much easier if she were a spy' arc, Twilight tells Yor pretending all the time is tiring. It is meant to be directed at Yor, but... it's spoken during twilight; he is speaking from his heart, that he himself is tired of putting on this act of 'Loid Forger' all the time. And of course, Yor is also speaking from her heart when she tells Loid she's grateful he is the man she married, fake or not.
At the end of 'Nightfall and I play with balls play tennis in a spy mission and OMG DOES MY WIFE HAVE ROMANTIC FEELINGS FOR ME????' arc, Twilight chooses to tell Yor his memories. He shares with Yor who he really is, what's important to him. And Yor... well, she's honest with him when she let her jealousy show and asked her husband outright whether he is real-cheating on his fake-wife - look, I don't get the logic here either and I don't think these dolts do either - and then is honest with him with a very honest kick to his chin.
Which is why I'm excited for what is likely shaping up to be another twiyor arc. Twilight and Yor's relationship seems to be crawling at a snail's pace, but each time they overcome issues in their (fake?) marriage, they learn a little bit more about each other, and perhaps more importantly, they learn a little bit more about themselves - what they want, what drives them, what trust is.
But let's hope Twilight doesn't try anything again. Wait, no. Let's hope Twilight does try something extremely silly again.
Twilight and Yor now have a whole 'please don't cry please don't cry for the love of god please don't cry' routine which really makes you wonder how often Anya has been crying to get her way. Probably a lot. Because she's 4.
Source:
Twilight's "I recommend the shrimp there" = Yor's "I will show no mercy!"
Considering who he was speaking to... yes, this checks out.
ABSOLUTELY CANNOT GET OVER THE BACKGROUND MUSIC IN THIS SCENE LMAO
she kicked him so hard he made the light yagami face
I love how when Yor and Twilight/Loid first get married under the auspices of a grenade exploding, both are calm and collected because neither feel anything for the other person. It's transactional - he is ready to abandon her when he needs to, she is ready to leave him when he's no longer useful for a cover.
By the end of the series, neither of them are calm and collected when Twilight does the Very Naughty Thing; in fact both of their brains are clearly completely addled, both of them are blushing just touching hands. Because there are feelings involved now. It's no longer transactional - he doesn't want her to leave, she doesn't want him to abandon her.
It is easy lying to a stranger. It is hard lying to someone close to you.
They are both dolts.
you see it's like this,
babygirl daddy
This is a true honey trap™️ face, and it’s downright lethal.
(Let’s ignore the fact this expression was directed at Donovan Desmond lmao)
*MANGA SPOILERS AHEAD*
The thing to remember about Yuri is that he's right now in the narrative about the same age as [redacted] was when the latter finally saw the light, after he has that conversation about human nature with Franky, after he saw his friends sent into the battlefield as fodder. Before that, [redacted] was arguably not unlike Yuri - following orders because he believed what he was told, because he believed Westalis was Right.
Maybe a similar arc awaits Yuri.
What I like about this week's episode is how it shows that romantically, Twilight's acting skills aren't the way to get through to Yor — but being himself, something he doesn't even realize he's doing, is.
Both times he's attempted to approach her in a romantic sense with an act, it's backfired on him (she gets flustered, shoves him away) but just expressing his natural personality brings her closer to him. She doesn't love him for the act he puts on, but for HIM. your honor I love them
i find that moment where he decides to honey trap yor to be absolutely fascinating bc ur right. he should know better, he should know that wouldn't work on yor. so why'd he do it?
my theory is that yor basically confessing that she doesn't want to be replaced by fiona and that she wants to stay w them made him short circuit and try to revert as much as he could back into that "cold and calculating" spy persona. pushing all the growth hes had as Loid Forger to be replaced with the comfort of Twilight that he's known for far longer
The simple answer is - he wants Yor.
And there's no good reason to under Operation Strix to make a move on her so he just makes up a new mission - Operation Honey Trap! - which would allow him to when he saw a possible opening.
And it's clear he has not justification for Operation Honey Trap either. He did not think she's a spy when he did the Very Bad Thing. There is no information he has to get out of her. There is nothing he needs from her - she already fulfilled the 'fake wife for interview' portion of their arrangement, she already does her fair share of chores and childcare at home.
So the simple answer is - he wants Yor. And all his brains - Spy Brain, Loid Forger Brain, [redacted] Brain go brrrrrrr. Because it's not his brain(s) doing the talking here, it's his heart. And... he's not good with his heart.
