the French vessel Alecton encountered a giant squid at sea and partially captured it (tearing it in half in the process). Accounts of the Alecton’s encounter were published around France along with clear illustrations of the beast. They piqued the interest of Jules Verne, who would use the incident as the basis for his squid scene in 20,000 Leagues a few years later:

in any case the themes (if you couldnt already gather) was darkness/light, transformation, and love. i made this for my spouse bc i love them (trangenderly bc we are both trans) and they helped pick the songs
