The #AllLivesMatter degenerates love the two-tier style of justice and complete disregard for children.
Briana Boston didn't threaten anyone.
When my grandmother was sent a death threat through text message, I reported it to the police. The officer told me that "it's not considered a death threat unless the message mentions a weapon and a deadline".
As a result, they didn't do anything. Not even a verbal warning to that person.
Or, there's a double standard when it comes to billionaires and big corporations. Who'd have thought.
So I’ve had type one diabetes for 24 years. During most of that time, I’ve been on the same medications. Control of my diabetes has only fluctuated for two reasons: access to medication (price and insurance) and stress (usually related to pricing and insurance). This morning, my RN messaged me to tell me they would withhold the prescription request I made at my appointment last week until I got a test. The test is no issue, it’s a basic A1c test, but the choice to withhold my medication, that which without will make me deathly ill, over a test that will give the same result it has for the last 24 years: sorrry, still diabetic, need insulin, blah blah blah, feels like an assault on my bodily autonomy. After sucking up my dignity and begging for my medication refill until I can take time off work to get the test, I only saw the medication approved for one refill this morning, Xmas eve, when the pharmacy will be closed, leaving me fucked for two days.
This is why people hate our healthcare system.
This is exactly why.
Your medical providers and insurance providers wave the hand of god and decide which of us gets to sit with ketoacidosis.

“Are you depressed because of who you are, or because you’re working two mind-numbing jobs at minimum wage? Is it you, or is it capitalism?” (Leigh Phillips and Michal Rozworski, 2019)
I just finished getting through The People’s Republic of Walmart by Leigh Phillips and Michal Rozworski, and I have to say it felt spot on. The book gives you a good background on various instances of economic planning from Walmart to the NHS, followed by how neoliberalism ruined the NHS, as well as a brief history of the ussr.
Planned economies work, but right now they’re serving private interests like Walmart and Amazon, not us. Rather than being a statistical impossibility, advances, and computing technology have made planned economies, far more reliable than the market (or the gambling den, where government is the casino, big corp is the House, and the rest of us are the gambling losers).
Can you imagine what it would be like if we used the same technology for tracking and predicting purchases to meet the needs and even the desires of the people? Can you imagine a world where planning is used for the benefit of people over profit? Or a world where we do the best for the most instead of pursuing the most for the least?
"Capitalism allows you to follow your dreams. Socialism forces you to give up your dreams."
Yeah. Keep telling yourself that.
Hey tumblr, I'm a solo game developer. very queer. My game Quantum Witch is a point-n-click meets platformer, with multiple endings and meaningful choices, where a town of lesbians fight god. You know, a typical queer Tuesday.
And I finally got it on steam! Maybe you want to wishlist (witchlist) it?

A seemingly mundane topic but this is how corporations eat away at our livelihood…One product at a time.
