it's a common enough tgcf fanfic trope (? easter egg? feature?) to have xie lian suck at doing other people's hair (hua chengs that is) but tbh it always throws me off when he's bad just from being bad at it instead of being in panic and his hands getting ahead of his brain moment like canon

i just love specifically how funny it is that's he's caught being gay or nosy and just Does Stuff and hua cheng won't give him a chance to redeem himself for The Teasing

one of my favorite small and sadly not the most popular headcanons for mdzs is that lan sizhui calls lan wangji baba instead of wwx because he was itty bitty and not completely lan-ified when he first was with lan wangji and it just stuck after that and vice versa fpr wwx since he doesnt remember being little with him and has/gets to readopt calling him something like that after he's at that "trying to be an adult" phase

how can i not ship huayinlian when one of the repeating things in the series is loving someone even through their worst moments just for hualian to go watch yin yus worst moments on dvd, continue to rely on his work ethic they previously complimented even though he's depressed about it. and then he dies in xie lians arms

he thinks he's nothing but a little fail guy and they keep wanting him around that's So Ship

alright imagine wangxian is expecting a baby and sizhui is freaking out, panicing that hes not going to be a good big brother

so he goes to the person thats most qualified to give him advice in his mind, lan xichen

and lan xichen is like sorry i would help but im useless now and sizhui has to plead/give him a pep talk

and this is what helps xichen the most getting out of his post-canon depression arc and sizhui feels better when he gets a pep talk back

i think in a modern au lan wangji would go hard as a Xmas magic parent like a bunch of Christmas cookies elf on the shelf everyday, etc

meanwhile wei wuxian would trying his best to convince baby sizhui that none of it exists
