My Tumblr Is Probably Going To Be Banned
Apparently some legitimate content creators are being banned. The claim I’m hearing is that tumblr’s app is being banned from the app store because it’s NSFW despite the fact that tumblr flags nsfw accounts so they don’t show up in people’s feeds. Also, despite the fact that I voluntarily flagged my own account as NSFW/Adult so it wouldn’t show up in searches for people who aren’t logged in (to my own detriment) they just went ahead and told me they flagged my account as NSFW/Adult (after I already did) and told me they did it for the public good as if to steal credit from me for doing the right thing. But, whatevs. You know, it’s their website. They’re hosting me at cost so they can put ads on people’s timeline to ameliorate the cost of the bandwidth and servers, but the problem is since bots take advantage of the free hosting, they have to be diligent about weeding out these parasites who do nothing but nick other people’s content and repost it without due credit only to catch clicks that redirect to a pay site or other scam site.
Some true content creators are also creating content that might be deemed an offense to the user agreement. Tumblr doesn’t permit anything that glorifies violence or suicide even if it’s fictional or has artistic merit, but plenty of mainstream cable and network news sites report on actual real life murder and rape then “change gears quickly” to some human interest story or a silly thing Drumpf tweeted then cut to a commercial for a prescription psychotropic drug, the side effects which might include suicide, all so they appear less like necrophages.
Because some of the user agreement terms of service can be interpreted however they want and also they don’t even need a reason to ban someone since they can terminate without a reason (it is their own private hosting service afterall) I and many other hentai artists/erotic artists are in a precarious situation.
