6000+ followers in 3 years. I seem to have recouped only about 10% of that (about 600) so far on twitter (my favorite social media). Please just make an account and follow me there. It might not seem important but it does help me. It’s about ‘influence’ and ‘reach’ and ‘validity’ for artists (as sad as that might seem). Don’t make sock puppet accounts or bot nets. I only want real followers.

I will also keep posting to my other tumblr https://nihiloxysm.tumblr.com/ but that will mostly be for political, social, cultural, philosophical commentary and essays. I will also keep this blog alive as long as I can just for posterity (even if only I’ll be able to see it).

Don’t be sentimental. While I can appreciate how convenient in many ways this site is for artists in comparison to other art sites, all they’ve done from the moment I started to gain some traction (new patreon supporters every other day and gaining 20 or more new tumblr followers each day) they just shunted my ability to reach wider audiences by implementing more constraints against me and other nsfw artists. This website has betrayed me for no good reason, despite always being compliant with all their rules, voluntarily demarcating my own blog as explicit, and just being as accessible as possible to those who wanted access to me. I did all the right things and I’ve been punished for it.

Let’s go where the internet respects honest content creators.

Today is the big day.

I garnered over 6000 followers since I first began posting to tumblr on the 4th of December 2015. It became obvious I had to start posting to tumblr because of the broad alt-hentai scene. I began posting daily, missing only a handful of days due to illness or having to move, on 19th of February 2016. I soon after started my patreon. I realized that if I worked hard and put out content at a sufficient quality at a high frequency then people would return each day and even support me monetarily.

I don’t know what percentage of that 6000 followers are even really active users. It’s unclear what the engagement rate of each post has. I could guess around 250 people a day might actually view each post on average. The comics get viewed more. Anything with actual penetration gets more notes for sure.

I feel like for the longest time I was going nowhere then I saw a light at the end of the tunnel. The passage to financial success as an artist was still distant but I at least knew the direction to travel.

Now, stagnation. The tunnel has been bricked up. In the days after this website announced it would abort its primary user base I have seen a spike in my twitter followers. So some people have immigrated to follow me. My fans. And everyone else just lost interest long ago. I’m not exactly starting over but I’ve lost significant ground and velocity.

Tumblr might keep my posts but they will be locked. I’ll be reposting my content to pornhub, pixiv, and other places. If anyone wants to download and save all my posts from tumblr to your local drive you are welcome to do so.
