🕊️Keep Hope Alive: a Gaza Giving Circle🕊️
Keep Hope Alive is a project that connects multiple families in need in Gaza with a pool of donated funds. Anybody can donate through their Chuffed fundraiser. Funds are then evenly divided on a weekly basis between all 7 of the families that the project works to sustain.
The project was born from the observation that Palestinians are made to share intimate details of suffering in order to be afforded help. Its operations are designed around the following principles:
Support Palestinian autonomy by letting them choose what to share.
Prioritize Palestinians' privacy and dignity.
Alleviate the burden of asking for help. Forced displacement & internet blackouts mean that most of the families can’t log into their social media.
Create reliable, sustained help through regular giving, rather than chasing one-off donations.
The organizer of this project is my best friend in the world and I trust her implicitly. I am also managing bank transfers for one of the individual families connected to the project and can personally attest to their veracity.
