so, while i am back to posting and playing sso, i'm not monetarily supporting sse in the slightest, even if i really want some new pixel ponies lmao

So, I know no one cares and this blog is already dead as it is, but I've uninstalled sso and don't plan on reinstalling it until halloween so I can hang out with my friends, then I'm uninstalling it again. Between what happened today and a collection of other events through the years, I don't think I can continue supporting them. Consider today's events as the straw that broke my camel's back.

Wildwoods HC Lore - The Herds

Okay so I think if there’s one thing I should cover, it’s bare minimum my head canons/personal lore for the Wildwoods because it varies drastically from the in game lore. This is especially in relation to my fic “Into the Wildwoods” which you can find a link to the first chapter here. It’s also on my Ao3 (JadeDragon18) but I’d like this to show in the tags so you’re on your own to find that.

The fic itself I started last year (2021) and is still in progress, I have a few chapters ready to post but need to clean them up and make sure everything ties in appropriately across them. Obviously this includes spoilers for the fic so if you want to wait to find out through the story, please don’t read below the cut. I did mark where a major story spoiler is so if you’re curious but want to avoid major plot spoilers, just keep an eye out for that.

Star Stable & Gender Video Essay

Hey guys, for a while I’ve really wanted to get into making video essays especially ones related to Star Stable. After talking with some friends I think the first one I wanna do is a discussion on how gender is handled in SSO, its other media and in SSE’s (the company’s) social media and outreach to the player base.

I would like to shoot for finishing it this year but I also know the last few months of the year typically get insanely busy for me. If you’re interested in this project I’m going to be posting updates as I go on this blog and possibly @jadesjunk which is my art blog. The final video will be on my Youtube JadeTheMage.

Lastly, if you’re interested in helping out I’d love to hear folks thoughts especially via the survey I made! Feel free to reply, reblog, ect on this post to spread the word or tell me anything you’re interested in sharing about your thoughts related to gender and SSO.

I do find it amusing that there's a homophobic horse game and a gay horse game, as if Star Stable had to make sure we had balance.

I think it's called Horse Island. Apparently the people who run it are super homophobic and don't allow any reference to queer stuff in the game. Some people play it just to be spiteful with thinly veiled references, like a horse named "trains" dressed up in trans pride colors, and things like that.

i believe it’s horse isle. saw someone talking about it a while ago and how someone was homophobic on the team or something. i wasnt paying attention.

meanwhile homophobia is illegal on jorvik. apparently it’s legal on horse isle though.
