Duncan Grant's pet lurcher Henry cropped up more than once in his paintings!
This mural was painted by Grant in Vanessa Bell's bedroom shortly after they moved to Charleston together. He painted Henry to protect and watch over her.

Nikolav Romanov, last czar of Russia, regularly commissioned Faberge himself for large, extremely intricate faberge eggs for his wife. The collection of eggs still exists but is incomplete, as 6 have gone missing and several only have descriptions, no pictures. One of the egg's only existing picture is a reflection in a photo of some of the royal family.
Here are some of my favorites:
The first and most plain egg, with a solid gold chicken inside, called the hen egg
The tulip egg, one of the few eggs whose surprises are still intact
The lilies of the valley egg, with pictures of of royal children Olga and Tatiana
The bouquet of lilies egg
The constellation egg was in the process of being made before the Russian revolution overthrew the czar and halted production. I still think it's beautiful
Eric DeverAmerican, b. 1962Dever was born in Los Angeles, California and received his Bachelors degree from California Lutheran University, Thousand Oaks. He moved to the East Coast to study at New York University where he received his Master of Arts. For more than a decade, Eric Dever purposefully redacted color, using a limited palette: white for four years, white and black for two years, followed by white, black and red. “I found myself taking cues from flowers as they blossomed and color entered my paintings.” However, instead of exploring just one color at a time, Dever embraced the entire spectrum. Initially he used mostly mixed tints, but with this epiphany of color, he began creating new mixed hues.https://www.artsy.net/artist/eric-dever
