Meeting and dating LGBTQ+ folks offline is oddly difficult.
Record numbers of college students are struggling with mental health issues and no one seems to be talking about it.
Happy World Bipolar Day
PEOPLE YOU NEED TO REGISTER TO VOTE, YOUNG PEOPLE NEED TO HOLD OUR LEADERS ACCOUNTABLE AND CHANGE THIS COUNTRY, HERE IS HOW TO DO IT, IN EVERY SINGLE STATE
The first primaries are coming up fast and if Bernie Sanders is going to turn his lead in the polls in early states into a primary victory young people NEED to vote. In just a few months all this activism comes to a head and Bernie Sanders has a very real chance at winning.
Bernie Sanders is already winning in two of these early states and by much wider margins than previous Democratic challenger candidates. This can become a real victory, it really can.
Unfortunately though there is a huge obstacle to overcome, a lot of Bernie Sanders supporters are young voters who consistently fail to show up to the polls come election day.
If young people turn out to vote though at rates far above 13%, even as low as 50%, that would be MASSIVE. That would fundamentally change how our government responds to the needs of young people. It is a tall order, but it isn’t that hard. Registering to vote isn’t that difficult and there is no reason that anyone should not be registered by the deadline. It needs to be done soon, but there is still plenty of time.
Okay actually, for some people there isn’t much time left. NEW YORKERS REGISTER TO VOTE NOW! Everyone else, there is some breathing room, but get on it. Below is a link to all the paper work you need, from there it is up to you. Share with your friends and family, help them register, help them get to the polls, and lets get Bernie Sanders elected president. It doesn’t stop there though, you need to know how to vote and how each primary election type is different.
BLUE STATES: Anyone of any party affiliation can vote for Bernie Sanders in the Democratic Primary. RED STATES: Red states are closed primaries, meaning you MUST BE A REGISTERED DEMOCRAT. You need to be a Democrat if you want to vote for Bernie Sanders in the Democratic primary. PURPLE STATES: Are Caucuses and the party affiliation required differs by state. GREEN STATES: Most Green states are mixed primaries, meaning INDEPENDENTS or NON-AFFILIATED voters and DEMOCRATS can vote for Bernie Sanders. You can not vote for Bernie Sanders as a registered REPUBLICAN, in one of the red states. ONE MORE THING IN THE STATE HIGHLIGHTED BELOW YOU CAN VOTE FOR BERNIE SANDERS IN THE PRIMARY ELECTION IF YOU ARE 17 AND WILL BE 18.
EVERYONE REGISTER TO VOTE. WE CAN WIN THIS THING. WE WILL WIN THIS THING. BERNIE SANDERS 2016!
I’m gonna reblog this at least once every week until the primaries are over.
Tumblr, for once you need to actually get off your asses & DO SOMETHING if you care about social justice as much as you claim to. If you believe in Bernie Sanders’ ideas & want him as President, you MUST vote in your state’s Democratic primary. This post has all the info you need about how to do that.
Here is a list of primary dates so you can find out when your state’s primary is.
tl;dr We all need to pay attention to the information above NOW, even if it’s long. You may think it’s still a year away, but it’s election season now, folks.
AGAIN! Reblog! Share! Register your damn self!
This is how the vote split by age in the New Hampshire primary. Lots of young voters turning out = winning by large margin.
But young voter turnout has traditionally been very low, so if we want Bernie to win, it’s important to make sure you know when elections are and also make sure to vote for House, Senate, state, and local officials. He’s great, but he can’t do anything without backup.
RockTheVote.com and TurboVote.com are good places to sign up and get reminders. TurboVote has a very simple UI and is mostly used to guide you on registration and get reminders. RockTheVote gives more information and is a lot more visually cluttered, so it may seem overwhelming to some. Registration has passed for a lot of states - TurboVote will tell you if it has when you’re going through the process.
i skipped class today after having a panic attack and then got an ominous email from my professor titled “maggie simpson” with only a photo of maggie simpson attached. this is a nightmare to me.
Critics assert that modern students are losing their powers of critical thinking, but what we are actually seeing is that power in action: students are using their critical faculties to uncover structures of power in their own academic and social environments. They are clearly recognising that discourse and ideas can be powerful, and that is precisely why they struggle to reshape the discursive terrain, to change the conversation in ways that further their political and moral commitments. Humanities professors should be proud. This is what’s so odd about the language of coddling and hypersensitivity. If students are really so fragile, if they’re really hiding from scary ideas in a thoughtless cocoon of political correctness, why are they so often to be found out on the campus, demonstrating, protesting, petitioning and organising? That’s not what hiding looks like. It’s not what coddling looks like. In fact, the people showing greatest signs of coddling are those professors for whom the classroom has been a safe space for way too long. Now they’re apparently afraid that their “small or accidental slights”, as Lukianoff and Haidt put it, are going to get pounced on. They’d much rather students “question their own emotional reactions” than question the assumptions coming from the front of the classroom.

If y'all don’t think having Election Day on a random ass Tuesday that isn’t even considered special by anyone’s job or school so you have to take your own time off to vote isn’t a way they disenfranchise certain groups of people, you crazy.
It especially disenfranchises the poor, people who can’t afford to just take off work, and the youth, people who can’t afford to miss school or work. It’s a plus that they’re making it harder to vote absentee now.

Today I skipped class instead of arriving two minutes late because my school’s tardy policy is harsher than its absence policy and that’s all you need to know about the American education system.

When I was in 1st grade I had a really mean teacher who would only let us use the restroom if it was an emergency. I raised my hand during a grammar lesson one day and politely asked to use the bathroom. She asked if it was an emergency and I said that it was, but she told me that I could wait. In an effort to make her feel guilty about brushing me off, I forcibly peed all over myself and the chair.
ok so hear me out, “gaydar” but for bisexuality

Tip for college students registering for next semester:
When you register for your next semester classes, if applicable, try to get a Tuesday/Thursday schedule. Try to sign up for the classes you need for just Tuesdays and Thursdays. That way, you have a four day weekend to study and/or work.
If you have a required class that only does M/W/ or M/W/F, then register the rest of your classes on that schedule so you can have Tuesday and Thursday to study/work.
For me, I always try to register on the T/Th schedule bc it really helps with the stress/anxiety of going to class every day.
Also, utilize ratemyprofessor.com when registering for classes. Because it’s important to know what kind of professor you’re being taught by. You get your money’s worth of education when you have a great professor.
Whenever I had to take MWF classes I also made sure to sign up for the shorter sessions. Like the 60 minute class instead of the 90 minute one if possible because it helped me stay focused.

I really wanna know if this is true.
It is. Beethoven was black as well. They referred to us as moores back then. They paint greatness white so we can be casted out of history as how great we truly are.
It’s a damn shame that they try to take stuff from us and paint black great people as white.
Okay I’m gonna admit that I didn’t believe any of you at first, but I just google searched this shit and I’m just amazed. How is it possible for the history books to forget to mention that Mozart and Beethoven were Moors (however some sources say they were “mulattos” which is another term for a person of black and white ancestry)?

hey guys!!!
so this entire past month has been extremely, extremely stressful for me because i had so many exams and i only realised how hideously unprepared i was for them on the day before the exam, which was really really awful. so in the middle of september i created a studyblr to keep myself motivated + get some helpful tips from the studyblr community on how to go abt studying for tests. the results proved to be super helpful and ive resolved to keep running this blog for as long as i can, because it really helps me stay motivated and i’ve already learned so many things from the community, despite the fact that i’ve only been here for around a month.
but anyways, i decided to create this masterpost in order to help others stay motivated + keep studying not only well but also properly i.e. not necessarily studying for exams but life in general, if that makes sense.
