I Have Returned
@richard-windor
“Gloandi”, came a clear voice, soft as the breeze accompanying it.
Richard had previously been informed of the peculiar request to accept an audience with individuals from another monarchy, the notion quite abstruse upon first audible encounter. But the fact that there were other worlds than that of their own had come to his attention on occasion, making him place his trust in the message enough to see for himself. And Richard wasn’t one for skepticism simply for the sake of it. There was perception in the monarch of the Windor kingdom, and he knew well what he was doing, and heading into, even though his personal feelings detected insecurity in his own actions.
Of course, he was aware of the possibility of hostility, but the fruits of Ephinea were no longer ripe for the taking, his people having grown strong after the ordeal they’d gone through. That, and Richard embodied positivity over bitterness now. He’d rather see the good intentions, while aware of the feasibilities.
It wasn’t clear precisely when he should expect this engagement, and so Richard found some time away from his duties for a quick trip into the city. He found some enjoyment in these social visits, although he rarely stopped to actually speak to someone. Having been so isolated by himself and by others, viewing people in ways not that of a true king, Richard approached with some caution, as if treading waters never once touched. It was an awkward characteristic in the nature of Richard, something that took time to work on, albeit willingly at this point. He still expressed a gentle spirit, pushing away any intimidation with his patience and strong sense of justice.
The spot carrying the pride of Barona was a fantastic viewpoint, overlooking the entire city as well as basking in the glow of the valkines cryas of Windor, its emerald shine dancing in the air.
Seeing foreigners admire the thing lit a fire in Richard’s pride as well, igniting his will to speak of it. And so he helpfully offered the name to the lady as he joined her side, golden eyes latched onto the majestic creation.
Natalia turned slightly at the voice educating her on the name of the beautiful structure. With a smile and a nod of appreciation, she addressed the young man.
"Gloandi." She repeated, hoping she'd pronounced it right. "Thank you. Pardon my ignorance-- this is my first time in Barona, my first time seeing this lovely 'Gloandi'. It really is spectacular. We have nothing like this in Kimlasca."
She'd never set eyes on a cryas before. She'd heard of them, of course, during briefings in Kimlasca about Ephinea. She'd seen sketches, but they honestly couldn't compare to what stood before her, shimmering and vast and possibly one of the most lovely things she'd seen in a long while.
Natalia put her musing on pause, turning her attention back to the man who had approached her and helped out. This stranger had an odd air about him. Something about his presence was both soothing and commanding, all wrapped up in one. Natalia offered him a white-gloved hand to shake.
"I'm Natalia. And you are...?"
dead asch
"You stop that, right now..."
Message me a fear you think my muse has
darn will have to sneak her one while you are asleep then , seeing as I want both the Muse AND the Mun to have at east one
Good luck. Mun hardly sleeps. Thank you so much for the Valentine's Day wishes, though!
M!A: Songstress Dressphere, GO! ([Open]ing Night!)
“Here we go
Something tells me that I’ve been here before
Even though I might be dreamin’
I don’t care, I want more
Well, I don’t know…”
Flynn didn’t know where the lyrics had came from, but the urge to sing after that grayface had left him was far too overpowering to resist. In truth, he didn’t want more! This was humiliating! The only times he ever sang were when he was completely alone in the shower, or too drunk to worry about it. There had to be a logical explanation.
“Tell me please
Is this really happening to me?”
He looked around, as he walked through the streets, which seemed brighter and more colorful, almost as if the world had become a stage. He could feel his resistance fading, but he clung desperately to that last bit of himself.
“No, say it isn’t happening
No, say it’s only make believe!”
Was anyone listening to him?
“No, it always happens to someone else.”
Everyone else got strange enchantments from grayfaces.
“But now it’s happening to me…”
The light, the color…
“Now it’s happening to me
I read your message over and over again
But it wouldn’t change!”
Well, might as well make the best of it! The world was his stage now! But who were his players?
What an odd sound. Was someone... Singing? The voice sounded ever so familiar! Natalia couldn't help but wander towards the sound, her pace quickening as she got closer.
She certainly was surprised upon seeing her favourite knight. The princess offered a bright smile, approaching him.
"My, Flynn, what a lovely surprise! Why are you out singing like this?"
well yea, but I find most of the Muns cute , well nerdy girls in general. plus do not want you and Nat fighting over the chocolate

@richard-windor
Sea breeze was good for you, wasn't it?
Natalia took a deep breath of the salty air, unable to stop herself from smiling widely as the boat docked in Barona's port. The journey had been long, and she had to admit that she'd found herself a bit seasick out in open water, but Natalia was feeling much better now that they were near land and the boat wasn't rocking terribly thanks to the calm water of the harbour.
The princess disembarked the vessel, boots clicking on the cobblestones of the port's streets, looking around before giving the crew a slight wave of the hand and a thankful smile. Dry land beneath her feet was a welcome feeling. Natalia headed up the stairs from the port, her eyes sweeping left and right as she walked, taking in the sights of the wonderful city. My-- whatever could that massive green structure be?
She knew she had to go to the castle, in order to meet with the monarch of Barona, but a short detour wouldn't hurt, would it? He knew she was coming, Kimlasca had sent word of her arrival to him, but he didn't know the exact time she'd be getting to his kingdom. Natalia was sure she'd have time for a teensy bit of sightseeing.
The blonde's pace quickened as she approached the strange object. It was so large, and really quite beautiful. As she stood before it, the princess attempted to read the little plaque explaining what it was. A... cryas? And how in Yulia's name did one pronounce this word?
"G... Glo...."
Everything seemed to be in order. Bailey was one to charm the ladies even when he didn’t try. Trying would require the man to dig out of the thickness of his own skull. In any case, it now fell to Raymond to carry on the remaining civility as was expected, although it mostly entailed explaining the situation so that the other would grasp an understanding. The fact that this was indeed legitimate royalty still served as a bit disorienting, but the bespectacled youth suppressed the need for clarification.
Pushing up his glasses to a satisfactory position, Raymond took to words.
“I trust you’ll find yourself welcome in Lhant, Your Highness. It should be known that soldiers of the Strahtan military are currently stationed in town, a courtesy of Lieutenant Hubert Oswell. You may not be familiar with the country, but it should suffice to say that we are under orders to protect Lhant.”
Feeling Bailey’s eyes pierce the back of his head, Raymond feigned ignorance, putting on a smile that wouldn’t quite reach his eyes. The two didn’t see eye to eye on a regular basis, to be sure, and Raymond’s choice in words, amongst other things, was something the other didn’t find himself approving of. It mattered not to Raymond. He hadn’t insisted to stay for the sake of Bailey, or the aggravating wind, or the kingdom. Perhaps, in a sense, he had done so for himself, but it was nothing he realized, thinking his own goals that of the Oswell name’s.
“We would have you stay at the manor in that direction”, the soldier mentioned as he swiftly gestured.
"Thank you so very much!"
Natalia gave the soldier a cheery smile. My, he even spoke in a manner similar to Jade's!
Lhant needed protection? She didn't know much about the situation in this area yet, which was part of the reason the princess was visiting-- to learn. So Strahta was another place she'd have to visit during her stay here. Oh dear, she hoped that the Strahtan military wasn't here for her sake! No, they couldn't possibly be. Kimlasca hadn't sent word for excess protection for the princess on her journey to Lhant. Natalia was sure that the guards of Lhant were more than capable of keeping her safe, but... She supposed it never hurt to have extra military-types around, especially if their purpose was peaceful.
Still, she wondered exactly what Lhant needed protection from. She offered the soldier a hand to shake, as she'd done with Bailey before him.
"It's really quite noble of your military to provide protection to this town. Please do give your lieutenant my regards!"
"I'm Princess Natalia. It's lovely to meet you."
@Empty-Mask
It may have been early, but the sun was already beaming down, causing most of the men in his brigade to break out in a sweat. Yet there he stood, standing tall, giving instructions to the others, still looking as fresh and crisp as he had when he stepped out into the atmosphere. A slight breeze had begun to pick up, and it was the only thing keeping his hair slightly out of his face at the moment. But this wasn’t a problem. In fact, it made the day a bit more tolerable than he thought it would originally be with such heat. But he didn’t bring himself to say that. Those were thoughts he pushed to the back of his mind, filing them under “unimportant” for the time being.
Sending out another order that split the men up into the usual groups to patrol as they finished up their exercises, he watched the group scatter as he stood there, leaning up against a wall, catching the sounds of footsteps. Perhaps it was because the man was so wrapped up in the monotonous daily routine they all performed, that he didn’t notice the woman who had approached them. He turned his face to her, onlooking silently.
He kept his face straight, concealing the slight surprise upon seeing Natalia waltz into town. It was rather like her to just suddenly appear unannounced. However, this way, it wasn’t likely that his friend would notice who exactly he was. Trying to play it cool, he simply approached the woman.
“May I help you?”
The breeze ruffling her slight curls and her brightly-coloured cravat, Natalia stood before the knight, one hand on her hip and the other hanging at her side. He looked... So familiar. The princess couldn't help but lean a bit closer.
"Pardon my intrusion. You... You look awfully familiar. Were you one of the knights assigned as my protection the last time I was here in Zaphias?"
No, that couldn't have been it. She'd have recognized those orange uniforms. They were a bit gaudy, but for some reason they suited this man. Despite the hair in his face that was being gently lifted by the slight wind, this knight -- he looked like a captain -- seemed rather well-groomed. Was it his hair she recognized, then, if not his uniform? No. It was his eyes. Those blue eyes that she knew from somewhere!
"... Or were you perhaps part of the company from this city that visited Baticul recently?"
No, that wasn't it either! He looked like someone she had seen recently, someone with whom she'd spent a fair bit of time. It was on the tip of her tongue. A name... Her lips barely moved, as she mumbled a word.
"Ra...ven... Raven."
"... Raven?"
