Hi!!! I was wondering if you were up for doing a Collab?? I'm not entirely sure how they work... But I was really intrigued by your satosugu storm chaser idea. I'm only asking because you ended it with something about not being sure how to write it, and being afraid that your science would be a bit messed up- I've done so much research on tornadoes in my life, and science in general (mainly physics, as I'm ALMOST an astrophysicist... Gotta get that degree...).

Weather nerd Geto has been fascinated by severe storms ever since his hometown was struck by a violent tornado when he was a teenager. At least a little traumatized from his experience, he decides to watch and learn more about the weather so that he is never caught scared and off-guard by a storm ever again. In the process of learning, he discovers storm chasing. At first, he can’t believe that people are willingly putting themselves in the way of hazards like tornadoes, but the more he watches the more he finds himself fascinated. Years later, another close call inspires him to go all in, and he is determined to become a storm chaser. Slight problem: storm chasing is complicated and dangerous, especially for rookies, and he’s not completely sure where to start. In walks storm chaser Gojo, who offers to take Geto on his first chase and show him how it’s done, as long as Gojo’s friend Shoko is allowed to film the process for one hell of a Youtube video.
I lowkey wanna write this so bad but I'm not sure how to write the more sciencey stuff because of the aforementioned complication of it being complicated 💔. I don't really want to leave it out and assume every reader would know roughly how it works though?
Yuta is a multiple-vortex tornado. (Hear me out on this.) I already previously talked about how all special grade sorcerers could be classified as wedge tornadoes, and Yuta is no exception to his rule. He just also has some unique things to add. Similar to Gojo and Sukuna, he is very powerful and capable of large-scale destruction and death which earns him the wedge classification. However, for my purposes here, Yuta’s cursed technique makes him unique.
A multiple-vortex tornado is a tornado that has multiple subvortices revolving around and inside of the tornado itself. It is kind of like mini tornadoes occurring within the actual tornado. (The majority of tornadoes actually have multiple vertices; however, they usually need to be very powerful/prominent to actually get the title of multiple-vortex. Yuta is both of these so it still works.) In my mind, this reflects Yuta’s cursed technique. His cursed technique is copy which allows him to use other people’s cursed techniques, so he basically has techniques within his technique. Like how multiple-vortex tornadoes have many vertices within its main rotation!! Rika could also be considered one of the vortices since she is part of his technique. Since she is so powerful, she could maybe be likened to horizontal vertices because these typically only happen with the strongest of tornadoes. (Horizontal vertices are also what lead to the “dead man walking” tornado formation, and I think that is fitting of Rika too all things considered.)
Possibly the most well-known multiple-vortex tornado ever is the 2013 El Reno tornado. I think this event is fair to give to Yuta for two reasons: its death toll was relatively small for its power and location, but it led to some very notable deaths, and its rating controversy. The El Reno tornado only had 8 fatalities, and 4 of those people were stormchasers. Three of those chasers were veterans who were well-known in the industry and are the first storm chasers to have died while chasing. Similar to Gojo, we don’t see Yuta kill people en masse, but he does have some notable kills like Kenjaku; we know he is very powerful and capable of killing more people if he needed to, though. As for the rating controversy, I won’t go completely in depth on tornado ratings because I am very opinionated about the rating system and we’d be here forever. The tornado was given an initial rating of EF-5 before being downgraded to an EF-3. Even though it had some of the highest wind speeds ever recorded on earth, they technically could not prove it with the damage. Many people still call for the rating to be changed back to an EF-5. This reminds me of Yuta because he was initially a special grade sorcerer, but gets downgraded after Rika is freed. At that point in the series, I technically don’t think anyone is aware of Yuta’s technique being copy, so technically they had insufficient evidence to prove he was a special grade without Rika in a way. But he gets Rika back which puts him at a special grade again. Like how we have windspeed data that convinces most people that El Reno should be an EF-5.
So in summary, Yuta is a multiple-vortex wedge tornado.

Okay, so on the same note as Gojo being a wedge tornado, here is what I think about Sukuna: I would also consider Sukuna to be a wedge. It makes sense considering he is also a special grade capable of mass destruction. Like Gojo, Sukuna also has a lot of rare attributes such as being a special grade, having four arms and two mouths, essentially coming back from the dead, etc. that is fitting of the rare occurrence of a wedge tornado. His technique has a large capacity for destruction literally built for breaking things apart, as well. Obviously one of the biggest basic differences between Sukuna and Gojo is that Sukuna is actively looking to cause mass destruction and death. So, while Gojo gets a relatively tame event, it only makes sense for Sukuna to have a chaotic event. There are two main events that came to mind: the 1925 Tri-State F5 and the 2011 Joplin, Missouri EF-5.
Much like Sukuna, the 1925 tri-state tornado was a very deadly anomaly. It is the longest tracking tornado ever; it stayed on the ground for 219 miles and almost 4 hours and caused damage in three different states. It moved very quickly at an estimated 60-70mph. It is the deadliest tornado in U.S. history with anywhere from 600-800 deaths on top of 2,000 injuries, and is also one of the costliest tornadoes in U.S. history causing 2.9 billion dollars worth of damage in today’s money. It completely leveled many of the towns in its path. The tornado’s swift and powerful nature caused a lot of deaths because by the time many people were aware of the tornado it was already at their front door. We know Sukuna is powerful, but sometimes his speed is overlooked in favor of his technique. He is also incredibly fast. This reminds me a lot of the scene with Mimiko and Nanako because Sukuna has already used his technique on them before they could react. This is also another show of his deadly nature because there was really no reason for him to kill the girls either. Sukuna leveling the majority of Shibuya is pretty fitting of the leveling of towns, too. There is also a lot of uncertainty and lore surrounding this tornado because it happened so long ago which also is also quite befitting of Sukuna. We don’t know the exact number of casualties and injuries caused (different sources have different numbers) and many are unsure whether the tornado was actually a single tornado or a family of tornadoes spawning from the same storm. Even the aftermath of the storm was also chaotic as it was reported that several fires broke out, and a significant amount of looting and theft occurred. This insane level of chaos, death, and destruction makes this an easy pick to relate to Sukuna.
If I had to assign him specifically a modern tornado, I think giving him the 2011 Joplin EF-5 tornado is fitting. It is a very well known event fitting of his reputation. This tornado moved through the town of Joplin–a well populated area–causing incredible damage that officially makes it the costliest tornado in U.S. history. It was also the deadliest tornado since 1950 and the 7th deadliest overall. There was quite a lot of chaos in the aftermath of this tornado, too.
Though if we are only considering death tolls, the deadliest tornado ever actually occurred in Bangladesh in 1989. If we are mostly considering his age, then there are actually a few pretty powerful documented tornadoes throughout history like the 1764 Woldegk, Germany tornado for example. (Side note: this is an interesting one to learn about because I feel like it's pretty rare to have such in depth info on a tornado that old.)
I think all of these events fit Sukuna to some degree because he is canonically referred to as a “natural disaster” anyway, but my personal pick here is the 1925 Tri-state tornado. Pretty much anything deadly/powerful can be associated with him in some way though. I feel like I may have rambled more here than the last post but I got excited lol. Next up is Yuta!! I have some thoughts for him, too. The more powerful and unique a character is, the easier it is to make this kind of association in my opinion.
