been thinking a lot about guilt lately and have come to the conclusion that it’s actually a gift. like yeah i hate feeling bad as much as the next person but it’s a reminder that i am still human and can view situations from a different perspective and have empathy - every time i feel bad about something i did/didn’t do it’s an opportunity to grow, every time i feel guilt i get to reassess my values and my actions and how they interact with each other and see if i feel like it’s warranted or not and what that means for my morality, and how i can do better.
tl;dr use guilt as a motivator not as a punishment
