Silence, the Black Swan still as freshly fallen snow. He inhales once, looks through the lashes as he swallows hard, trying to speak. Time, it seemed, had passed. Like always, he did not know how to hold it within his palms, cradled with a whisper he didn't know how to voice. Yet still, he tried, wings drawn tight to his spine, feathers shifting together, nearly drowning out the hushed, "...Hello."

I'm sorry for basically vanishing. I wanted to return fully after the previous incident I had updated about, but both my mental and physical health took one hell of a dive. To keep it short and sweet, I wasn't doing super great. Sleep hasn't come easily, and, something I try not to elaborate on too much are my migraines. I have them pretty consistently, have all my life. But lately, they'd gotten worse. Between that and a mixture of finally attending therapy for reasons I really would rather not delve into, I am starting to do a bit better. Even after I got that bit better however, I had to change my computer due to technical issues on top of that. So I completely lost my password to my blog to boot for a while. Its just been one thing after another after another. So while I am back and intend to be more active, I do understand if my absence makes it difficult to pick up threads, or if my health may affect interest in the future. Which I fully understand! Truthfully it was rather hard to write up this post at all, since I feel I've been mia more often than not due to life. In some better news, I will finally be getting a proper look into my migraines this month's end I hope, as I was denied that when I was younger due to 'reasons'. So hopefully I can acquire a proper medicine to get them under wraps. As for my mental health well, there will be good days and bad days, but hopefully now I'll be getting more good days. That said, I am deeply sorry for my sudden extended absence. I look forward to being more active here in the future! <3

Its just a brief moment, a grazing of teeth along the flesh of his palm with playful abandon. Yet, there's a subtle twerk at her mouth, something teasing, something coy. It's cute, and lightness bubbles up in his chest. Driven with the curious urge to tease her back, what a sharp nip would yield-

Funny how she-wolf has him acting on genuine feelings more and more. Yet it is not an uncomfortable thing, as he flicks an eraser across the desk to ping against her nose. They had been working on songs for some time, and the absolutely stunned look of delight nearly has him laughing aloud.

"Not every bite, involves teeth." A tease, as he leans his chin into a palm, daring her to play.

Oh, oh her joy is infectious. Warm and filling his lungs with air as she tugs on his hand, pulling him to and fro with such energy. Avros would say it was difficult to keep up, but that simply wasn't so. No, she breathed into him a sort of life that was hard to come by, hard to discover, unless one were looking up instead of down.

He had been looking down for a while, missing the sun, the stars, their shattered but beautiful moon- yet it all paled in comparision to her.

It is a soft sound, quiet laughter as he is pulled along as though he were a teenager again. Rolling along with loved ones, without the weight of everything on his shoulders, and unbidden, he finds himself ducking closer to Briar, with her shimmering marigold eyes, her wagging tail, its all a bit too much to contain-

He gives into the sudden urge, and whisks her from the ground in a whirling spin, laughter breathed into her neck. How beautiful she was, just existing!

Drabble - if Avros had not gone through the portal, and watched Atlas Fall

                    There is grief, loud and defeaning in his ears, thrumming through his veins. He knew of magic, but the reliance of it to escort the innocent from the streets into the sands of Vacuo, it was reckless. Regardless of that, there were no other options, even as his eyes stung from the icy bite of high winds, it was just the wind. 

                                Not the results of whatever emotion it was, writhing about in his chest, like some sort of creature trapped within his ribcage. Watching, as the flying city, slowly descended, tilted and broken, into the depths of what used to be Mantle. There were no tears. ( A lie, as they froze on his cheeks. )

                    He remembers, he recalls, and every emotion, bitter and sweet, threatens to choke him. Steal his breath and have him plummet from the sky in a freefall. This, this was the result of what he knew now to be Salem, the threat that had always been lingering in his shadow- 

                                          Avros knew it now, had known for a while since his return to Atlas, and fear warred with grief for control. A tiny, pathetic piece of himself whispered in a hush, run, run and don’t look back. Live the rest of your days by your own will. 

                                  As if. 

                   As quickly as such whispers had hushed their pitiful emotions into his heart, just as quickly he had erased them. He had left, for years of his life, so those he loved would not be hurt. He knew the threat now, understood it, as what used to be the place of his childhood ( tragic or not ) was drowned beneath ice and chilled waters. For Avros knew, not everyone would have made it out, despite their best efforts.

                                   Glacia was not here. But her guidance, from years before, still existed. Something he carried as an extension of himself, for there were monsters in this world. Some of pitch, inky blackness, with glowing eyes of fire. Others, were human, seeking only for themselves, even should it cost others.

                      He was guilty of it too, no matter his attempts to be better. Icy winds cut through his wings, chilling him to the bone. Salem. 

                            What a tragedy. Anger bloomed more and more, chasing away the former Atlas Chills with an all consuming heat. Calm. 

                            He must calm. This was not a battle, a war to be won through anger. People could not be saved through hasty decisions. Yet, in this moment, Avros did not deny himself the feeling. The emotion that burned and burned and burned until it threatened to leave nothing but a empty, smoldering husk.

                   Lips parted as the Black Swan screamed, long and loud. 

                              And then, he began to look for the others.

                            It’s not really anything that stands out to Avros in particular when he catches sight of Roman. In truth, it was just another day added to the marker in the streets of Atlas. A subtle chill in the air, the Kingdom itself radiating an icy edge that was just barely hidden with artificial warmth. Had Avros not been looking in Roman’s general direction, he wouldn’t have noticed him.

                But he was looking that way, and as such, he does notice him. He notices the vibrancy of his hair, the color lighting up the man’s surroundings like it’s own sun, Avros would guess not to Roman’s own wishes. It had been a bit of time, since he had seen someone with lightly colored hair, not many people since-

                   Well, it was only natural Avros come out when the world was crashing and burning. Nowhere left to hide after that. Yet, silver eyes linger over the man, unable to understand just what it was that drew his attention. Like a memory he was supposed to remember, a thought he had forgotten, fluttering uselessly in his mind. 

                                    A hard swallow, and the Black Swan decides he may as well, or his brain will never leave him alone about the man with the firey hair. 

                        “Excuse, Excuse me. I don’t mean to bother you, just, seem familiar?” He’s kicking himself, really, he knows how to approach people. He knows how to ask questions, he does! 

                                                   So why did he mess up?

Headcanon: Sunchaser & Devourer

                               Unlike Aycan, whose Semblance is Conceptual Darkness, Cymbeline’s Semblance is for Conceptual Light. Like her twin, this was a Semblance that was bred for, and pressured into manifesting via their environmental changes. 

                                        Because they are twins, it was unexpected that Cymbeline and Aycan would have the Semblances of their respective Conceptual Mirrors. But it occured by chance, as whilst attempting to procur Conceptual Darkness, they had to follow a certain pattern in the family, which did cross hairs with the Bloodlines focused on Light. 

                    Aycan and Cymbeline were celebrated as a great success, as it was unintentional that both would manifest their Semblances to the degree that they did. 

         So to explain on Conceptual Light, it is easier to say that it is the opposite of what we see with Aycan. However, there are key differences in how their Conceptuals Manifested. 

                     Cymbeline can manipulate manipulate the abstracts (or concept) of light. This can have many feats, such as light that can prevent darkness from existing, generate light that sheds cold instead of warmth, light that makes things dimmer instead of brighter, produce light that can exist without darkness/shadow, generate light that drains/reduces energy rather the charging it, make light negate other forms of illumination.                         Cymbeline’s key points go as followed.

                She can manipulate the temperture that the light gives off, such as cold or warm. Cymbeline also, like her twin, as Light Empowerment, meaning that, she will become stronger, faster, more durable, etc. when she come into contact with light. Unlike Aycan however, she is able to create a light source from her own Aura, though it is taxing.                          An extension of this, would be known as PhotoKinetic Construct, which allows her to control Light Particles and Solidify them. She uses this quite often, as a means of lighting a path, or, as we see with her weapon, make duplicates of said weapon via light as a means of a flash bomb. 

                          ( Ex. She detaches the lantern from her weapon Dying Star, and charges it with intense light. But, with Construct, she can create a duplicate of the lantern out of light, and make that as dim or bright as she wants. Hell, it can be hot or cold too. )                                      Unlike Aycan, Cymbeline can not teleport through any location that is touched by light. Nor is she able to transform her body into light itself. What she is capable of doing however, is PhotoKinetic Creature Creation, argubly one of her best abilities. 

                                      ( This came to mind much like how we see the wolves in Wolf walkers. A good example of how I imagine these ‘creatures’ to appear, is like so. )

                                     Cymbeline is able to create beings of light or shape existing light into different forms for a variety of purposes. She can grant these beings varying levels of detail (simple to intricate), independence (controlled, programmed, semi-independent or autonomous) and existence (momentary to permanent) and delete the entities once she is done with them.                       For the sake of not wanting this ability to be too much, as Conceptual Darkness & Light ( despite the research and hunting I did do to make these more interesting and truthfully, more akin to what their abilities actually are scientifically accurate. ) Cymbeline is not able to give this ‘beings’ existence for longer than momentary, nor can she create more than two, they also are mostly autonomous when in combat, and semi-independant only when she’s made one. 

                                   However, these ‘light creatures’ were often used to help keep travelers and herself warm, or well lit when traversing dark locations at night.                  Again, both her and her brother’s Semblances were cultivated. She and Aycan are prime examples of why it is that the Fenris Tribe is both feared and looked down upon. Their Semblances are great ( when they have time to mature. As when younger, Aycan could only travel through shadow, and Cymbeline could only dim or brighten light. They are only as capable as they are, because they’re grown, and have had time for their Semblances to fully evolve. ) but only at the cost of genetic inbreeding, which is looked down on for obvious reasons. ( not to mention the Faunus prejudice. )

                                As with Aycan, Cymbeline’s Semblance belonged to many others before her, and was already dubbed SunChaser. She never bothered to change the name either.

Headcanon: Moonchaser & Devourer

                           I’ve sat down to really think about how to work with the Semblances of the twins. Shadow and Light are good concepts, but I do want to expand upon those into actual terms of power and how it functions. Like Avros, both twins are adult Huntsman/Huntresses, meaning that their Semblances have had decades to mature and grow with them.

                                   Aycan once thought he simply could only manipulate shadows. But in truth, his Semblance works more akin to Conceptual Darkness, though not including all of its base abilities. 

                                                       Conceptual Darkness allows the user to manipulate the abstracts (or concept) of darkness. This can have many feats, such as darkness that can prevent light from existing, darkness that makes things more visible rather then less, produce darkness/shadows that can exist without light, harm things that can absorb or are immune to darkness, produce shadows/darkness that can consume or negate other forms darkness/night/shadows, and much more.                       For simplicity’s sake, we’re going to narrow down Aycan’s manipulation of Conceptual Darkness to a few key points. ( It is important to recall, the Fenris Tribe, whilst close together, did partake in inbreeding, and environmental change to produce certain Semblances. This means Aycan and Cymbeline do have very precise Semblances, not having come about by chance. )                     One such extension of Aycan’s Semblance, is Darkness Mimicry, allowing Aycan to essentially transform his very self into a shadow. He can also, blend into the darkness/shadows completely, or even teleport through them. 

                  One such other connection to his Semblance however, is the ability to become Empowered when within Darkness/Shadow. Simply Darkness Empowerment, where he can become stronger, faster, more durable, etc. As for a final extension of his Semblance, is to make a Concept from Darkness like a tangible thing. Like an extended slash from Night’s End, allowing the reach of this weapon to go much further if the shadow has extended beyond the strike, as then the Shadow itself acts like an extension of the blade.

                       It is important to note, that Aycan can not create Shadows/Darkness, but has high control over it when it is there. If there is none there, the most he can do is try to expand on preexisting shades/shadows.  

                This makes him very capable on his own, but he can not simply rely on his Semblance, as for example in a situation where shadows are very weak, they take more from Aycan to be able to either move through them, or make tangible. So much so, that depending on the variation on how deep the darkness goes, this may lead to nothing.

                                         Because this was a cultivated Semblance, Aycan does have a good deal of aura to keep up with the demands of his Semblance. But, this does make him a sort of glass cannon esque DPS. This also means there were others before him who had this very same Semblance, albeit it, with different degrees of control and abilities from Conceptual Darkness. 

                     The Fenris Tribe dubbed this Semblance MoonChaser, and Aycan has never seen a reason to change it, despite having left the tribe.
