Ao3 ship rankings just came out and it made me think abt something.

How come in arcane in every interracial couple presented (that gets popular) there always has to be a white person in it? And the one interracial POC couple we got to see was tossed to the side by the fandom for a MLM ship with a frail white man?

I love jayvik but it is physically impossible to find jaymel fics that don’t involve viktor as some sort of “savior” for Jayce from his relationship with Mel.

This unfortunately leads to the white/male savior complex and displays how working couples usually involve someone white.

And ik yall ain’t gonna like this but… I’m tired of Melvika propaganda. Sure the ship itself is okay, but the only reason that it exists in the first place is so that Jayce can be with viktor in a way that Mel won’t interfere…

Mind you Jaymel is canon, Jayvik is not.

And I’m not even gonna bring up how jayvik is more popular than caitvi… 🙄
