So. Poppy Playtime nerds. I have *another* fanfiction going on in my head. Who would be interested in reading a take on the game in a "multi-player/multiple playable character" setting? Characters would include-

Rich Lovitz- Former Head of Shipping, currently working as a security guard. Is married to his wife of 20 years and has a 12 year old son. Received the "Find the Flower" letter.

P.W.- Does not like his full name. Former biologist in the Science Division at Playtime Co. Currently a part time overnight truck driver. Not married. Insomniac. Received the "Guilt Haunts You" Letter.

Cassia "Cass" Wilkes (OC)- Former Specimen Processor and Lab Assistant from the Science Division at Playtime Co. Was previously an orphan at Playcare at sixteen with a three year old sister, Lyra. Was adopted as she was approaching the "age out" of foster and had to leave sister behind. Currently a Medical Laboratory Technician. Not married. Godmother to Rich's son. Received the "Your sister never left" letter.

Iris Pierre (OC)- Only daughter of Leith Pierre. Was the only nurse at Playcare who worked alongside Dr. Clarke until his death. Suffers from acute epilepsy through her mother's side. Is Leith's biological daughter, but he took custody of her when she was six due to her mother dying in childbirth and her grandmother passing away. Is currently a nurse practitioner at a local hospital. She is little to no contact with her father. Not married. She visits Rich and his wife semi regularly. She did not receive a letter.

Seth Lovitz- Rich and his wife's 12 year old son. A prodigy in computer science who wishes to make the world better by helping others through potential inventions. A very kindhearted kid, he has recently been more withdrawn lately by staying on his computer and talking with his internet friends on a forum. He has been asking odd questions about Playtime Co and the "mystery behind August of 1995".

Anybody interested? ☺️ I am going to try to start writing it tonight.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters - 4Kids Uncut Dub Masterpost!

Update (10/2/18): ALL THE LINKS HAVE BEEN UPDATED! I was told the links to my subbed!GX masterpost might’ve been down when Videa.hu just refreshed the video IDs, so I thought I should update the links on this list, just in case! Please let me know if you find that the links are down, and always check the original post in case they were already fixed!

So I had these lying around and, after some discussion earlier, decided to upload them.  This is the uncut dub 4Kids produced with FUNimation way back in… *google-fu* 2004 WHOA WHAT HOLD ON TEN+ YEARS AGO?! WHAT–I MEAN HOW?! :O

*ahem* Anywho, yeah, produced back in 2004.  This dub kept the original music and OP/EN, card designs, as well as the original dialogue.  How well it was adapted is now up to you to judge. :P Some original names were also kept in spots (like Sugoroku over Solomon), while one instance sounds good in theory, but not so much in practice lol.  It only went on for nine episodes before the plug was pulled, with a fourth DVD going up to 12 already planned.  The main excuse tossed around was that 4Kids didn’t want them to compete with sales of the dub DVDs (while, while stupid, given it was 4Kids at the time…), but after looking it up on the Wikia and seeing a possible legal rights issue listed there, that seems a lot more plausible.  Especially given the contract issues with Yugi’s Seiyuu, Shunsuke Kazama, that were only recently cleared up IIRC for the Crunchyroll subs.  And since the Japanese-audio versions were on the DVDs too, it does make sense.  But who knows, maybe with the DM remaster going on, they’ll reconsider resparking the project.

And back in March 2016, I spent a few days resyncing the uncut dub’s audio to the Japanese DVD rips (Zero-Raws for 1-4, then Astral_Union’s for 5-9 since ZR had some weird frame rate issue going there).  I also tweaked the audio a bit; for one, I added back the more human-like monster sounds (Cyclops/Hitotsu-Me Giant, Crocodilus, etc) that were cut for some reason where no one was speaking over them.  And I also made the prologue about the History of Gaming consistent through all nine episodes (originally, it’d either be scripted slightly differently or had different inflections) by using the prologue as used in episode 8, which was much closer to the original’s style.  I’ll post these up for download on NAC sometime soon, so stay tuned.  

But anywho, enough backstory.  Here you go, guys; enjoy!

For more uncut episodes, you can look into watching the Singapore dub; also keeps the original music and dialogue, but they use the dub names and the voices/acting (but mostly the voices) can be a bit wacky at times, DUDE! Still, they made it up to Mai VS Marik at last check, so they have that working for them.  It was up on Dailymotion, but currently only two episodes from it are up. 

Also, while we’re on the topic, while Googling for the Singapore dub, I dug up this petition asking 4K and Konami to consider an uncut redub.  It was made last summer; why not try and boost it? :D (Also, we should all mention the DM remaster going on in Japan as a good excuse to do it lol)

its nice to see stuff like this because it reminds you that theyre actually the weird ones. their rhetoric just relies on them portraying themselves as "voices of the people" fighting for what no one else will stand up for, despite most people probably thinking their behavior is embarrassing and not worth it. open terfs, racists, nazis, homophobes, misogynists, general transphobes- are all just extremely pissed off and angry minorities that make it everyone else's problem as much as they possibly can so that they seem bigger than they are. that doesnt mean they arent dangerous, it just means we can win. we've got a fighting chance against these losers.

This week, I read a fic that was around 20 years old, which had originally been posted on the author's personal website and which she added to AO3 a few years ago. She listed her email address with the fic, so after I finished reading, I sent her an email saying how much I enjoyed the story, how much I appreciated the work and effort she obviously put into it, and thanked her for uploading it to AO3. She responded the next day and thanked me for my message, then said she had a few more stories in the same series that she hadn't gotten around to uploading. I checked this morning--she added a 35,000 word novella and thanked me in the summary.

It’s so funny to imagine Wicked from the perspective of one of the normal students at Shiz. There’s this girl and she’s weird and an overachieving nerd and no one likes her, but then the popular girl becomes best friends with her overnight so you guess she’s chill now. They might be sleeping together but no one’s really sure. They’re also low key dating the same guy but you’re not clear on if it’s a polycule situation or a love triangle. Whatever. You’re just trying to study for finals. Your history teacher gets arrested and no explains why. You just hope this won’t effect your grade in the class. The weird nerdy girl gets a letter from the president inviting her to come see him. Wow, that’s exciting. She and her maybe-girlfriend go off to the capitol and you go back to homework and dorm room parties. One day later one of your professors is on the national radio saying that the weird nerdy girl, who used to be her favorite student, is now a terrorist, has stolen the nuclear codes, and is on the run from the government. You are still expected to show up to class tomorrow.
