Mostly I talk about Caspian and Lilandil (the star’s child in the Dawn Treader) as they are my favorites for different reasons

I’m aware that it is supposed to be spelled Liliandil, but I like it better without the I so fight me😌

Also I kinda ignore the events most of the silver chair and last battle because they hate every character except Eustace in my opinion and I care deeply

dawn treader 2010 my enemy but also the way peter fucking haunts that narrative man. that tiny brief glimpse of him we get in lucy's vision yes but the way he's never really there, not like susan, who really does appear writing her letter at the start. caspian still carrying his sword. "peter gave it to you." vs "why should you get peter's sword". caspian wears it on a baldric and not a sword belt but he grasps at the hilt just like peter did. the way he casts a shadow over the entire narrative even when they aren't talking about him... like i'm sooo. it's whatever. it's whatever!

the world would be at least 45% better if, when an adaptation changes something from the original text, people stopped and asked "well, what purpose is the change serving? what is it doing? what could it be trying to say?" instead of just screaming "this wasn't in the original!!!". tbh.

caspian being both the son of a king/queen and the disposable outlier according to his uncle who learns narnian storytelling in secret I think makes sense through the lens of being biracial or multicultural

especially as said uncle has a Spanish name, it might make sense to see him (at least in casting and aesthetics) as being a child of a European Spanish- adjacent royal and a native Latin American or Caribbean

there is something about him that is a ‘threat’ to the king’s power even though he is kind and still a prince by blood. telmar being a state that enforced religious/cultural conversion of narnians would explain his need to reclaim it in the name of it

just because aslan was inspired by Catholicism does not mean its history has to mirror it. even the opposite

imagine being a narnian when caspian comes home with a mostly immortal person with metallic eyes who can turn into a celestial object at will and he says “anyway this is my wife. she has never seen another soul until two weeks ago”

narnia adaptation where Aslan never appears or speaks in real form but there are carvings of the Lion on sword hilts, tapestries, jewelry, etc. at crucial plot points when the characters are making choices, seeking spiritual guidance or safety. as a symbol. maybe also for secretly indicating faith for Telmarine Narnians under Miraz (like Caspian) when narnian history/culture could not be publicly shared or practiced.

kind of taking away religion’s complete control of the narrative while still having it be crucial to the plot and a beautiful thing

as much as I get why people care it’s not like there aren’t other female heroes in canon that are under appreciated (Aravis for example). making her the sole issue with the writing also leaves out discourse about the books complex religious themes and view of poc for tumblr white feminism

one of my favorite subtle bits of worldbuilding in the first narnia film is the history of the witch's invasion of narnia, like how tumnus saying his father went away to war "a long time ago", before narnia was under enchantment, implies that he went off to war against the witch, and that the narnians fought back when she first invaded and ultimately lost. there's evidence of this also in the way most of the statues in her courtyard are armed and/or in fighting poses, and it's so good because not only does it flesh out narnia's history and enrich the story of their long struggle with the witch. it also provides the perfect opportunity for most of the disenchanted narnians coming to peter's aid from the witch's castle to be already armed and ready for battle. huge fan.

interpretation in which high king peter was actually called that for eating a narnian plant that causes hallucinations and then attempting to fight a tree. The other pevensies just played along and never let him forget it

look i know i'm always talking about the pevensies' prop designs and how there are lions all over them and how cool that is but like i don't think you guys understand just how many lions we're dealing with here. we all know about the sword/dagger pommels and the cordial topper and peter's shield and susan's horn. but did you know every one of susan's arrowheads has aslan on it?

are you beginning to understand why i'm so unhinged about this. do you get it yet. just on their christmas gifts alone between buckles and buttons and things there's at least 12 unique lions, not counting every arrow or both sides of the sword. that's insane. that's amazing. what the fuck!

It is a well-known fact that she earns net profit percentages on all her IP. Every time you buy any HP merch, from anywhere, she gets a cut. Every time you watch one of her films, even streaming or just on the tv, she gets a cut. Every time you visit Universal Studios or Harry Potter World, she gets a cut.

And she uses that money to do this. To strip trans rights at every opportunity.

This is where that Harry Potter money goes.
