Its to the point where most Americans can’t conceive of a walkable community because everywhere is like this and several generations have now grown up in a world like this. There’s hardly anyone that can conceive of a world that isn’t like this. Most people either cave in and get a car or end up isolated. I live in a city that’s mostly walkable by North American standards and I still end up walking in the dirt on the edge of a stroad a lot of the time.

yeah i really wanted the achilles casting rumor to be true because a trans character burning the city to the ground after the other queer man he loved was killed would be the most impactful movie scene of the year for me. maybe it would make some people see us as dangerous but it would be representation with depth written for the community instead of the one surface level character every five years for DEI. and elliot has produced and written other films before so nolan could have allowed him creative control over the character.

im still very very happy that he got to be in the movie and play a male character at all, but there could have been so much more if nolan was capable of reading subtext
