My theory has always been that Kaner distracted Toews in the bathroom in exchange for his own stuff not being touched - but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t fun.  Also, Toews probably knew about the deal, but was allowing Kaner to distract him because it would make Sharpy and Bur happy to get a prank in, and you know, Kaner is very good at distracting him.  Worth it.
